Tuesdays With Morrie, a novel written by Mitch Albom, offers a number of different talks through its characters. Chapter 11 of Tuesdays with Morrie speaks to me the most as Morrie shares his thoughts on forgiveness and grace. Morrie believes that letting go of regrets from the past and embracing the present is crucial. Out of the 14 talks, this one resonated with me the most due to the reason it's similar to what us as highschoolers are going through starting a new chapter in our lives about to graduate high school. Morries teachings on forgiveness allow the reader to embrace the present not only through personal experiences but in life in general. Holding onto the past is also a part of history as we have to let go of grudges to be able to move on and live in the present. Another Quote I felt resonated with me is in the quote “Love Wins. Love always wins” (Albom 164). Morrie in these quotes believes that the power of love can overthrow any form of negative energy. I can resonate with Morries quote as I have witnessed the power of love in various forms from my family and friends who have provided me with support during challenging times, who have lifted me up after a hard time. Morries message reminds the fact that even in the face of adversity, love has the ability to heal and bring people hope in the darkest of times. For my last quote I chose “There is no point in keeping vengeance or stubbornness” (Albom 164). I chose this quote as vengeance gets you nowhere in getting satisfaction because whatever your vengeance is 9 times out of 10 will be worse than what they did to you.
