I aspire to be the person who works hard to achieve her goals but is also resilient enough to understand failures. Proud of my accomplishments, but also humble amongst my friends and family. I believe the key to life is balance: working hard but also appreciating moments to rest, and enjoying the fruits of my labor. Throughout my life, the stories I’ve heard from my mentors and friends have inspired me to create my own success.
The first step to this life long journey was my path towards college. In school, I strived to never let my financial obstacles affect my grades, but studying for advanced placement classes and standardized testing was troublesome since I did not have internet at home to access online resources. With rigorous courses,
If someone wants to succeed in life and stay recognized by superiors, then he or she ought to appear hardworking. A person begins with setting goals. There are two categories, the first, “be” goals and the second, “do” goals. In other words, ask yourself, "What to be?" or "What to achieve?" Four categories of goals consist of wealth, health, relationships, and self-fulfillment which equal success. Working diligently to finish a task demonstrates how to live a successful life. Given these points, Thomas Edison, Helen Keller and Harriet Tubman, all exceptional achievers, found that prosperity undoubtedly comes along for everyone who perseveres.
In my opinion, I have been through lots of obstacles. From one of my best friends dying to my grandmother passing, it’s hard. But I didn’t quit, I didn’t give up on life I moved on and lived for them. Purpose; be unique, not average. Growing up our biggest want is to fit in. The last thing we want to do is stand out. We should have a purpose in our life span. I want to make a difference wherever I can, and impact somebody in a massive way. Sacrifice; seek wealth not riches. A few things we sacrifice each day that go unnoticed are, Time, Money, Relationships, and health. All of those things we sacrifice leads up to us creating wealth. Not necessarily money, but having what we need to be successful. Use your wealth to change others. Even with money, don’t let it change you. I write all of this to say, I want to be the best me I can be. I constantly want to work on becoming a better version of myself. The goals I have set for myself aren’t what a normal person should believe. I am working on being unique and not average, but also keep a high quality of life and thought. If I practice these 7 keys throughout my journey, I will definitely see you all from the
My philosophy of success, is me growing into the person I want to become and being comfortable with the choices I decide to make in life. Success is not something I can achieve overnight, it’s something I must plan for then proceed to working hard for it as well. Without hard work, there isn’t anything successful about the job I want to get done or the job I wish to get done. Doing anything without hard work and dedication, and expecting the best outcome is not success; it’s mediocrity. Being mediocre/ will only allow me or anyone else to have a ‘Victim’s Mindset.’
Growing up, my parents never expected perfection but expected that I try to accomplish my best. The effort I’ve put forth in learning has been reflected in my grades throughout my high school career. I’ve entered myself in vigorous course work such as AP Government and AP English to become well prepared for my college career, all while maintaining a 4.4 grade point average this year. Not only do I engage in AP classes, but up until this year I had no study halls. I wanted my day to be packed full of interesting classes that I would enjoy learning about. My grades and choice of classes prove the effort that I put forth in my learning. Working hard now can only pay off in the future. Learning now creates a well-rounded human being. Working to learn is why I am so dedicated to my studies now.
College success has become a most desirable goal. However, many students struggle through college. In fact, according to the Website Ask.com, approximately 15 percent of college students receive a degree. Because I’m willing to earn a degree like many other successful students, I find that college is the stepping stone to my dream goals. I know that college is difficult, but I realize that attaining my dream of a college education will require me to understand the benefits of what I’m learning, to prepare for obstacles, to seek advice, and to create effective and reasonable strategies will help me achieve my goals.
The quality of unimaginable success is determined by grit. Despite confronting difficult life circumstances that delay the process individuals who are passionate, intelligent, and dedicated to one’s own success will continue maintaining consistency throughout their journey. Success is measured by an individuals’ commitment to effectively work hard towards life-changing goals. In the journal article “Grit: Perseverance and Passion for Long-term Goals,” Angela L. Duckworth conducts several studies in order to convey human’s capacity for higher achievements while still enduring challenges and failure. Although Duckworth’s research has proven that individuals who are less gritty tend to shift trajectory, I believe working hard and keeping “stamina” is essentially the key to achieving your goals (1088).
In both my personal life and my academic career, I have demonstrated an ability to work hard at achieving the things that I want. Achievements, such as getting into the IAM and maintaining a high GPA throughout my time here demonstrate this hard work. I am also consistently working hard in my personal life when it comes to moving outside of my comfort zone and contributing to the production of things like the local school play. Being a hard-worker makes me conducive to the values of the National Honor Society because I believe that the NHS prides itself on its ability to effectively help in the improvement of the world, which requires members who work hard to do so. I also believe that a mission as big as promoting scholarship, service, and
There are two kinds of people, the first one a man or woman who set goals and never give up no matter how hard it will be. Second, someone who tries a couple of times and through the time their perspective changes. They realized that their goals are impossible and stop trying just by the cause of things not going as they wanted it too. For example there are people who succeed in life in their working hard, studying and with effort.
While focusing on my recovery, I failed to disenroll which resulted in my GPA plummeting to a less than a 2.0. I could not receive financial aid because my completion rate failed to meet federal and school requirements. Michael's kind words, “You may not get there as fast as everyone else but you will get there,” inspired me rededicate myself to my studies. Through hard work, overnights at library ( I was locked inside the library twice, I laugh about that now), and gallons of coffee; I self-paid for the last eight classes and received my Bachelor of Science in History.
Whenever I think of what I am today or what I can achieve in the future, hard work is what comes to my mind. When I think of the first time I got my first ever high school soccer start of the Varsity team, my high school graduation, or when I remember how many colleges approached me to commit, then I believe that with hard work in everything I try, I can achieve anything in the reach of my hand. I believe success is not only just setting goals but putting in an effort to achieve it. Without effort, I wouldn't be attending college and getting good grades, without effort I wouldn't be as fairly good as I am at soccer today, and I also believe that if I don't put in effort and train hard with enough passion and dedication, I would never graduate
I have the ability to balance work and time to relax. It is very important to me that I do what I love and love what I do. When an individual is doing what they are meant to do, they realize their potential and purpose in life. I feel that this correlates to me in my life now, because I chose to come to Limestone to play softball and get an education as a Health Care Administrator. I am satisfied everyday in both of these important goals and reward myself for the accomplishments that I achieve to reach those goals. I one-day hope to contribute my skills and talents to my work that will be rewarding to me and people I work for. I hope to attain job satisfaction and many other important components needed for my path to becoming successful in the
The day we graduate will be the completion of fourteen years in school. Fourteen years of going to school (Pre-K-12th Grade). This is considered an accomplishment; one to be celebrated. This day is so important that family from across the U.S. will take off work to come see. They will descend upon Salem from thousands of miles away to watch me walk across a stage, and receive a document for my achievement. Standing among my peers on this day to show we mastered the supposed basic skills to lead us through the rest of our lives. I do not believe this should be celebrated, or that it is an accomplishment.
This was the lesson I learnt from my father, an unceasing learner and a person who would never give up no matter how many and how difficult the obstacles may be. Having understood from him that success is a moving target, the years of my life with my family have inculcated in me a desire to achieve perfection.
My life is a mixture of moments, some happy moments and others not so much, but regardless, these moments have made me the person that I am today and I don’t regret anything that had happen. I consider myself a strong, and a very determined person, I have dreams to fill the world and I am willing to do the necessary efforts to attain those dreams. My motivations I inherit from my family, more specifically my father that I love so much; I have always
I did not fail any of my classes and instead received good grades for my perseverance. As an immigrant to a new country, my greatest barrier is English. Consequently, I had to go to tutoring and work three times more than native English speaking students. But despite the frustrations, I never allowed myself to give up. I never stopped striving for excellence. I worked very hard and took advantage of extra credit opportunities, even though I was already earning a good grade in the course. My short-term academic goals are graduating from Cosumnes River College in Spring 2019 with an Associate of Science degree. I plan to start my bachelor degree next fall at CSU, Sacramento and graduate in spring 2022. I am motivated to succeed because my degree is not only for me but also the epitome of how far my family has
