Censoring of Child Books Have you ever heard of The Autobiography of Malcom X? Didn’t think so that’s because it’s a book that was banned. Why was it banned well it was banned because objectors called it a “how-to-work” manual for crime. And also presented “anti-white statements. The question at hand is should parents censor their children’s school books? Parents should not censor children books for multiple reasons. First being that if parents censor books that hinders the knowledge that a child is able to accumulate throughout his or her life time. They should be able to learn anything and everything that is out in this vast and huge world we call planet earth. They would be learning all this at the hands of a professional person we call teachers who also have studied their entire lives to bring this type of material to all ages of children. It is so much better that they learn these types of information from someone you trust rather than some stranger on You tube. Second reason is a lot of these books being banned are being banned for religious reasons, supposedly going against the government, and other supposedly immoral things. This book was subtitled “an Indian history of the American west” and it was banned for the variety of controversy it brought to the table. But why ban a book just because it shows a little controversy we as humans see controversy throughout our entire lives. But that hasn’t stopped us from growing as a species on earth but that doesn’t stop the government from banning books like this one. It’s funny how the government bans all books that make the government look bad or puts something to the test but yet they don’t do anything in our actual lives to help or even stop such things as controversies, racism, sexism, and many other problems we face in our everyday
