For me, to become an effective project manager, you have to have a specific set of skills that can define you from others. You don’t have to feel entitled and all that, but it would be better that if people saw you walking through the corridors, your aura will feel like someone professional’s coming their way. First, you have to be able to influence your team, your co-workers, or even anyone. Influencing them is not really changing them in your own desire, you influence them by doing well and setting yourself as a good example for everybody. You influence them not just verbally but also with your actions. Another, as a project manager, you should also have leadership skills, team building skills, and trust building. In my opinion, these three links with each other. In order to lead, you have to know your team well and to build their trust in order to work well together. You don’t put people in a team because they know each other, but because of the specific skill set they can bring to the table.
