I would like to thank Salish Kootenai College for giving me the wonderful opportunity of applying for STEM academy. If somebody had told me that I would be applying for college classes as a sophomore, I would not have believed them. My parents have always told me that when an opportunity comes, you should take it, and I do not plan on letting this experience go to waste. Education has been a big part of my life, and this academy can only help me move forward. That being said, here are a few reasons why I should be considered a candidate for the STEM academy. Joining the STEM academy will allow me to further my knowledge and help me to get closer to my goals, my academic career would flourish, and I would be closer to my ambition for my future. I am determined to become the best and most educated version of myself that I can possibly be.

My career has been centered on technology starting at the age of 15 at CompUSA. I spent seven year in the organization until they were liquidated due to exceptionally poor financial management and a lack of brand unity. During this time I was heavily investing in school and other facets of life, so I only climbed a few levels to become a supervisor. Since the closure, I have been with Comcast building my career as a leader in this organization. I have held numerous positions in my seven years with Comcast, most recently promoted to Operations Manager in a new organization called the Billing Center of Excellence in January of 2013. My two peers and I operate a 360 seat contact center in St. Paul which handles roughly 13,000 customer relationships
Different forms of elections are employed to elect the judges in thirty-nine states in the U.S. The elections are either partisan i.e. with candidates endorsed by a political party, non-partisan i.e. with candidates not endorsed by any party, or retention i.e. with appointed judges running in election just to retain their seats in the bench. Given that almost all matters of socio-economic controversies ranging from gay marriage to abortion are settled inside the walls of a court by judges, the process of selection of judges itself has become controversial over the years. First started as a method to stop executive control over judicial authority, judicial elections are the most common method of selection of judges.

After taking the StrenghtsQuest and the Holland Interest Inventory I have realized a lot of points that I’ve never realized before. I have realized there are certain things that I did know about but I just never justified the interest in knowing about it. After much consideration I’m honestly not sure if my career that I’m looking into is really what is going to fit my profile. I’m going to tell you my top three scores from the Holland Interest Inventory and the top five StrengthsQuest.
West Africa is predominantly Francophone, therefore as a little girl growing up in Ghana which is bordered by Francophone countries, I made it my goal to learn to speak the French language despite its difficulties. I failed in all my French classes so much that my Senior High School French teacher advised me to drop French since I was doing so well in Economics, English and History. Now, several years later, I graduated from the University of Ghana with a Degree in English and French against all odds. My passion to be a world changer ignites in me the desire to move on despite challenges. I was the first Ghanaian student to be appointed an Intern at the Ghana Embassy in Cote d'Ivoire after its war amidst discouragements from other students that were at the University of Cocode with me in Abidjan.
I firmly believe that my present role as a Sales and Marketing Assistant is a skilled type of employment because my skills and educational qualifications represent a background of increasingly important assignments within the company. These experiences have given me the opportunity to make many profitable contributions in a number of functional areas.
During my secondary school days, I was the best student in Mathematics and Biology and as the senior girl (Head-girl). After completing my secondary school education in 2004, I got a job offer from the same school I graduated from, to teach Maths and Sciences. I was a very active full-time teacher in this school for four years; I participated in different extra-curricular activities such as leading the Jet club, inter-house sports and preparing students for competitions. In addition, I counselled and gave extra help to a lot of students struggling with their academies. This had a lot of immediate and long-term positive impact on many of the students.
Employability is a multifaceted concept and one of the major subjects of debate in terms of what it is, how it is measured, how it is developed, and who is responsible for it. It is also one of the widely debated issues of accrediting and determining world class higher education institutions which could go a long way in systematically improving the performance of an institution as well as an individual. Most of the studies regarding employability have found lesser understanding of this concept especially in graduates who need to be well versed with the concept of employability as they are the force that ignite this notion and take it forward to the workplaces and to the employers they encounter during their careers. There is a need of awareness
During my high school career I participated in a variety of clubs, bands and volunteer work. Having a serious interest in music and art, I pursued related activities that pushed my limits and boundaries that made a more imaginative thinker. As a musician I performed with and organized several bands both in and out of the school environment. At school, I participated in concert band and jazz ensemble, however I felt that these settings were not challenging enough so during my sophomore year I auditioned for the Select Jazz Ensemble, which was a group that would compete against other schools within the Cavalcade of Bands circuit.
