After taking the StrenghtsQuest and the Holland Interest Inventory I have realized a lot of points that I’ve never realized before. I have realized there are certain things that I did know about but I just never justified the interest in knowing about it. After much consideration I’m honestly not sure if my career that I’m looking into is really what is going to fit my profile. I’m going to tell you my top three scores from the Holland Interest Inventory and the top five StrengthsQuest.
I took the Holland Interest Inventory first and my top three characteristics that match me are Social, investigative, and Realistic. Starting with the social characteristic, it completely demonstrates me because I love being with people and I have great skills with working with people and helping with problems. I do “prefer to solve problems through feelings and interpersonal manipulation of others. I was at one time drawn to becoming a social worker and I still am in a certain way. I have no idea if that will honestly fit with my career since I’m a person that loves to help other than being an Administrative Medical Assistant.
My next characteristic is Investigative and I don’t see much of me being that type of person except certain aspects of the description. I do like to work alone rather than working with a group since I rather get things done quick and easily, and also that I know that I can depend on myself to get things done rather than hoping that half of the other task does get completed. I do sometimes feel that my leadership skills are not always very good than what they should be. .... I think that this is something that would look good in my career because I will be meeting people in a medical office everyday and that’s a good skill to have no matter what field you go into. I do have a social flair in me so I think that it is a good characteristic to have in the work place and in personal lives.
The question is “Does your strengths and interests fit your career?” I think that every single characteristic or interest listed here would be more of a job in social working, counseling, or something along those lines. I feel that my major and future career is something that only maybe one or two interest and strengths would actually fit into my profile. So I’m thinking that I might have to rethink my major to make sure it is a good idea and something that I’m going to willing to be able to do for my future success and goals that I want to achieve.
All the personality tests I’ve taken in class, such as sigi3 and DWYA suggest I could pursue a career in my chosen field. Based on my personality type I like caring for people and “helping others reach their full potential” (Do What You Are 2014). Because of my desire to help people and my attention to detail pursuing a career as a nurse practitioner would be perfect for me.

The number of jobs is estimated to grow 36% from 2012-2022. This job of physical therapy involves many and very important tasks to fulfill the needs of their patients. It requires many different educational requirements and you must have strong people skills.
I have always wanted to help people. This career will help me to do just that and also make me happy about what I am doing. I once had a person tell me. “Don’t be afraid to lend a helping hand”. I was identified as a Guardian by the Keirsey Temperament Sorter II. A guardian is a person that can have a lot of fun with friends, but they are quite serious about their duties and responsibilities (Keirsey.) The Multiple Intelligence Inventory listed my strong points as being naturalistic, body/kinesthetic, mathematics, and music (Multiple.) Although these skills ranged close to one another, they will definitely help me to become successful in the career that I have decided to pursue.
For the longest time I could not decide on a major and a career to study throughout college. I have been always interested in having a career that is related to health and wellbeing, in fact a career that gets the university education directly involved and puts it into practice. General medical practitioner is the suitable career match for me. I have been studying science for quite a while and I truly enjoy learning more through this field. Choosing medicine as a career is not just about the university education though, suitable character, interpersonal skills and many other factors are contributing for being successful, and I was trying to understand myself, my interests and evaluate my skills to investigate if I am a suitable match for this job. The last shot for the personality evaluation was in bioscience work shop and I have found out that I am more of an artistic person who seeks independence through work and fine with team work, also creative, on the other hand people and data focus and I could find many other useful skills within this category that matches my future career. Accordingly I could be a suitable candidate to pursue this job after having related education and practice. It is easy to have a strong income while working as a medical practitioner or generally a medical doctor but it does not pay off easily as there is a great responsibility involved and it could be a very stressful job. After all it is valuable that the daily activities of a medical doctor contribute in making a healthier society and productive in a very positive way. When I took the self-assessment test I got one personality type as my highest of all six personality types . The personality type that I scored the highest was social, and it matches perfect with the kind of work I envision doing it in my future. I was not surprised when I got the highest in social because I think this is how friends and loved one’s see myself when I am around them. For instance, they describe as me as a person who value helping others even if I have to go out my way to provide others with what they need. Friends, and close ones always says that I am a caring person who listen and take people’s problems very seriously. Something else that they about myself is that I am good at giving people advice or direct them to the right path. My personality is hard to describe. It all can depend on the situation, but overall my core values stay the same. In this paper I will describe my personal analysis, which will include a self-assessment score of maximizer and satisficer, time management profile, and empowering others. I will also describe what my terminal values and instrumental values are. Then I will go through what my big five personality characteristics are and my MBTI personality profile. I will then describe my job posting assessment and, finally, my personal job fit analysis. Hopefully, by the end of this I will be able to recognize my strengths, weaknesses and values and have the ability to match my values to the type of values job postings are looking for.
My interest persisted and grew as I began to see how my efforts had the ability to improve the lives of people around me. I first noticed this on a personal level as friends would come to me for advice or for me to listen to their struggles and provide comfort. No matter how mundane, horrific, unique, or common the story was, I listened to them in a genuine and non-judgmental manner. I fall into a unique, more introverted and innovative personality type. Generally speaking, leaders are often expected to be extroverts. That seems to be the societal ideal.
