Principle 1
To be an effective leader is a leader must have an extrovert personality. A person with an extrovert personality can easily make friends compare to the introvert personality. Most of the extrovert person are more active in a team settings and always contact with other people first. They always have a very optimistic behaviour and personality. Besides, extrovert people have more self-confidence in themselves. So changing college or transferred to a new place will never be a problem for an extrovert people. They...

... grow extrovert personality, a leader should develop social skill. They should always start a conversation with a strange and be confidence when you talk. The more you do, the more comfortable you get. In order to become extrovert, they should always try out the new things, always hang out with different types of people like different ages, cultures, behaviours and other. You can observe a lot from them.
Secondly, a leader should learn how to make a good decision. It is better to make good decision rattan than a fast decision. There are few issues that should be considered in order to avoid making a bad decision. Before the decision was made, they should collect information and data first, and identifies the relevant sources. Second, compare each of the decision and also have to measures the levels of profitability and losses that might incurs to the organization.
There are almost as many definitions of leadership as there are persons who have attempted to define leadership (Stogdill, 1974). Therefore, it is very difficult to understand what leadership actually is. According to John Sculley leadership revolves around vision and ideas and has to do more with inspiring people towards direction and goal. A leader is a person capable of inspiring other people to do things without sitting on top of them with a checklist. Precisely, leadership is a process whereby an individual influences a group of individuals to achieve a desired goal (Northouse, 2012). Distinguishing between leaders and non-leaders is hard as there exists no clear understanding of what differentiates leaders from non-leaders. Leadership and authority are constructed socially by superiors and subordinates, followers and peers.
If someone asked you who would make for a better leader, I’d guess over half of you would choose the extrovert. While I may disagree I unfortunately can’t say I blame you. Extroverts do exude some good qualities that would make them seem attainable for such a position. (Entrepreneur)
Leadership and success come hand in hand. You cant only have one. People that are great leaders are successful. They need to lead the right people and stay true to themselves. The best thing a person can do to become the best potential leader is to read and learn about the most influential leaders of all time. A person has to have the right mind set and the most drive out of anybody else to become successful. They have to want to be more successful more than he or she wants to breath. Being a leader is not a trait. Its a way of life.
Based on my view, introverts have their own unique set of leadership qualities that can definitely excel in work efficiency and productivity. Their drive to achieve success has definitely mold them to become experts in their fields. Prominent leaders like Rosa Parks, Mahatma Gandhi and Barrack Obama portray their leadership skills through embracing their introverted qualities making them some of the great leaders of all time. Most importantly, introverts all around the globe should be aware of their potential to lead because the world needs more leaders like them. This is also vital for introverts to acknowledge so that they too can have the courage and confidence to assert themselves in leadership roles in the future. Hence, introverts should be given the opportunity to lead as they have valuable leadership qualities that can help produce a future generation of great
Our leadership in this world has changed and affected us greatly. Leadership is being about to lead an organization with many people and to have control in the right way. “ The Leader of the Future” a book by Peter F. Drucker gives us information on why and how it is to be such a great leader. We need better leaders and we need them to guide us and help us along the way. Without leadership, our world would be in such danger and we America would be going through a lot.
The leadership is a privilege and it is such a privilege and an honor which will carry the tremendous responsibility which will inspire others to direct them to accomplish goals and vision of the organization. Leadership is about influencing the people, by producing direction, purpose and motivating in order to accomplish the mission, vision and improving the organization. The leadership philosophy is evolved based on the experiences, both positive and negative, in most of the initiatives and activities that we undertake. It is also one among the collaboration and teamwork within which the team members can utilize each other’s strengths to counter the weaknesses of the individuals. By observing, introspecting and experimenting we can developed a leadership paradigm which is inclusive, collaborative and proactive. We can develop the ability to recognize which will approach in order to reach the productive conclusion. The great leaders know their limitations and are capable at utilize their strengths and also the strengths of others to compensate.
Decision making is a task which needs utmost balance on the part of the leader. One sided decisions when team input is necessary or resources going into a lot of group decision making process when the decision itself is not so crucial can turn out to be big result influencing part of the outcomes of a leadership experience. Leadership demands a lot of adaptability where the style of leadership to be followed, a complete leader driven or group driven is to chosen based on the type of decision to be taken and the situation in which the decision is to be taken.
Introverts are just as capable as extroverts when it comes to becoming a great leader. It is believed that hard problems in the workforce or any leadership situation need to be given a lot of thought and consideration before making a drastic descision; this is a skill that introverts tend to possess (Murphy, 2013, p. 60). Unlike introverts, extroverts have more of a tendency to form solutions to problems without thinking much about the outcome, and they do not spend a lot of time getting other opinions on the matter (Murphy, 2013, p. 60). An introvert by nature asks more questions and listens closely to others which are great leadership skills (Murphy, 2013, p. 60). Unlike that of extroverts, introverts tend to be more capable at controlling negative emotions (Murphy, 2013, p. 60). By doing this, solutions are not determined by emotion, but by other’s input and serious
To become a truly effective leader, one must encapsulate the various behaviors related to the aforementioned course learnings in his/her persona and demonstrate such behaviors daily. This course has allowed me to identify four behaviors that all leaders must portray to be effective. The first of which is that a leader must be inspirational. To do so, a leader must set the appropriate vision and direction for the organization and provide a path to achieving defined goals. Additionally, a leader must induce the proper levels of motivation so that each employee has sufficient incentive to work towards the organization’s goals. As discussed in the class, motivation can be accomplished by factors such as rewarding hard work and providing the correct opportunities to employees. While these are motivating in that employees desire to be fairly compensated and to be doing work they deem valuable, inspiration comes more from organizational culture. A leader will be inspirational by setting a tone that appreciates each employee’s contribution, no matter how small in scale it is. Further, employees are inspired when they work collaboratively in a group setting and can capitalize on individual strengths to drive organizational goals.
First of all, communication is very important and basic step to deal with the stakeholders that includes customers, employees or investors. Because any kind of miscommunication may make the huge impact on the company, in terms of financial or reputational manner. Then, emotional stability is another important factor to consider as this helps to stick a team together and maintaining a good relation within the employees & the customers. As team lead needs to do communication with various customers, vendors, internal employees in daily basis to get & share the status, so he/she should be extrovert. Extrovert person can easily make connection with people and can convince them with their high scale energy. Openness is another required quality, to openly accept new challenges & ideas to develop and maintaining the projects. Addition of this, always encourage a culture where equal opportunity has been given to every team member for sharing their ideas. At last, a good leader should have the ability to make decisions by proper analyzing the situation, as this may have direct impact on the project/company’s output. By analyzing these capabilities or requirements and relating it to Myers Briggs personality tests, it comes under ENFJ personality category. ENFJ stands for Extroversion, Intuition, Feeling, and Judging. According to Myers Briggs, these types of
Leadership is essentially the ability to motivate. An effective leader can motivate others toward reaching a common goal. Leaders are different than managers in that leaders inspire others to do the work needed while managers generally tend to manage the tasks associated with completing the goal.
Leadership is defined as a process by which an individual influences others to obtain goals. There are three aspects that should be addressed when explaining leadership. One aspect is that leadership is a social influence process; leadership could not exist without a leader and one or more followers. Another leadership aspect is compliance; all of the leader’s directions must be complied with voluntarily. Compliance is what separates leadership from other influence-based formal authority. Finally, leadership results in the followers’ behavior, that is purposeful and goal-directed which must be in some organized setting (Leadership Theories and Studies, 2009).
Organizations have leaders who are effective and ineffective. Many of us want to be leaders but, do we have what it takes to be effective or are we going to be ineffective. Leaders are people who build their organization and employees up. Ineffective leaders are those who only care about getting a check. This paper will discuss effective and ineffective leaders. The effective and ineffective leaders I have had the pleasure to work with.
Throughout my life I have encountered the chance to experience position of being a leader. Being part of groups in university for class presentations, being the organizing secretary of my campus fellowship, being a youth leader in my church and the church admin, also being part of a family. Leaders are charismatic, inspirational and trust worthy. I have gained some important qualities of being a good leader through these experiences. Most of the valuable leadership’s characteristics that I obtained and strengthened are: learn to become a better leader every day, how to be a team player, to be a better listener, to be an effective communicator, to have more patience, not afraid of constructive criticism, to be outspoken, and to be a problem solver. Even though I have gained a lot, I still have more things to learn to become a better leader such as being more assertive, being more disciplined, becoming a better public speaker, and learn how to be realistic and not too optimistic. You are a leader if someone else choses to follow you.
I fall into a unique, more introverted and innovative personality type. Generally speaking, leaders are often expected to be extroverts. That seems to be the societal ideal. However, there were some well known introverts such Einstein, Martin Luther King, Mother Teresa, Nelson Mandela that obviously were successful leaders and innovators with a mission that suited them. I am motivated to lead if the mission has integrity and is an area of interest to me. Those factors feed my extroverted side. I like to improve systems and processes; one can put specialized projects and problems in front of me or ask me to create a growth opportunity and I will run with it. Our textbook The Art of Leadership by George Manning/Kent Curtis describes the most important traits of leadership as the need for achievement, possessing intelligence, self confidence, initiative, supervisory ability, and decisiveness (Manning). I am an intelligent problem solver and I can see many paths for growth. With right mission I can be very self- confident, I show initiative and supervisory ability. I can sometimes be slow on decisiveness so I try to identify
