Introduction Primer paint is used to improve paint adhesion. At ZMD, an aerospace company manufacturing commercial aircrafts, primer paints are applied to several aircraft components. ZMD’s Aircraft_Series_900 design specifications calls for a primer paint, with a minimum adhesion force of 4.0N. As a process engineer at ZMD, I am conducting this study to identify areas of opportunities for quality improvement. For this purpose, I have taken the initiative in researching the alternative brands to the primer paint currently used. To analysis these brands, I have requested for sample data for three alternatives along with the one currently in use. On the basis of data, my main objective to see which primer including the one that is in use, gives The mean adhesion force for the Primer 2 is 5.2 while the one we are using currently has a mean adhesion force of 4.8. But if we look at the prices of each of these primer paints, we see that Primer 2 is the most expensive. This is makes sense also because the brand that gives the highest mean adhesive force is the expensive. The current primer in use has the second highest price of $50.12. It looks that we can use the Primer 2 even if its expensive because it will then give us the highest adhesion force as well and thus would be beneficial in long run. To be sure about which brand to use, we will first use the ANOVA test to compare and see whether there is significant difference between primer paints at 0.05 significance level. Total Variable Count Mean Variance Sum Current Primer 10 4.8100 0.0610 48.1000 Primer 1 10 4.620 0.124 Since the p-value (0.00) is less than the 0.05 level of significance, the primer paints are statistically significant and null hypothesis is different from zero. In addition to this analysis, we can also check the t-test for the paired mean samples for the primer currently in use and the one which has the highest mean adhesion force (Primer 2). From the table below, we can say that there is significant difference in the mean adhesion force of two primers and hence the null hypothesis is significantly different from zero. Again, the p-value is less than the 0.05 level of significance; we can support the evidence of difference in the mean adhesion force of the primer we are using currently and the one which has the highest mean. The company offers the product to the market, communicates through the market mix, and in turn benefits from the difference in the products to meet the customer specifications. Not only do the professional painters and homeowners buy the paint, they are customers who return to purchase more items because they are consistent buyers of the product.
The purpose of this experiment was to test which brand of whitening toothpaste is the most effective. The original hypothesis was that Crest 3D White Advanced Toothpaste be the most effective, while Arm & Hammer Advanced Whitening Toothpaste will be the least successful in whitening the tiles. The hypothesis also stated that the Sensodyne and Colgate brands will be equally as effective, while being more sufficient than Arm & Hammer, but less than Crest. The hypothesis was partially supported as Arm & Hammer was the least effective and Crest was the most. However, Sensodyne was more sufficient than Colgate. This was clearly displayed on the graphs
Thus Sealed Air is situated at a critical standpoint. It can either continue to deal exclusively in the manufacture of high-end coated bubbles emphasizing performance over price, or segment the market by introducing an inferior, inexpensive uncoated bubble. To this end, this report will analyze the industry, competition, and company internal environment to assess the viability of targeting this low-end market segment. A strategic marketing plan for launching an uncoated product will follow.
There are advantages to using 2-butoxyethanol as a key component of paints, inks, and primers. Due to its bipolar nature, it can help remove polar and nonpolar substances, and is found in many household cleaning products.
During restoration of an affected tooth, if any margins between the composite restoration and tooth of concern are open, micro-leakage can occur1. Micro-leakage is a phenomenon in dentistry resulting from imperfect bonding that allows the movement of bacteria and fluids between the restoration and tooth of interest2. When a composite restoration is placed and undergoes polymerization through curing, shrinkage occurs. Research has shown that the percent of gaps between composite restorations can be variable; between 14% and 54%3. This can lead to an increased risk for micro-leakage and is of concern to both the dentist and the patient. Other causes of micro-leakage that exist include: continuous light polymerization methods4 and prerestorative home bleaching5. The effects of micro-leakage include: increased sensitivity, secondary caries, discoloration of the composite material, restoration failure, and/or pulpal pathology or pulpal death1.
Because I run track I am around spikes everyday and due to the exposure to this type of shoe i began wondering just how much it helps the runners. My null hypothesis was that the speed between tennis shoes and spikes would be equal and my alternate ways that spikes would make the runners faster. The alpha levels used in this experiment was .05 meaning that anything below this number would reject the alternate, saying that spikes do not make the runner much faster and any number above the alpha would accept the alternate saying that spikes do make a difference in running. I used a 1-sample T Test to test my hypothesis, subtracting the two times from one another and plugging in one set of data. The average of the data was .42 seconds with a standard deviation of 0.585 seconds. After plugging the averages into a calculator i managed to get a t-value of 1.505. After entering this into the normalcdf function I get a p-value of around .06616 meaning that we would reject the null and accept the alternate hypothesis that the spikes make the runners
Before starting, choose the colors, quality and the texture of the paint. As there is a wide variety of colors so choosing and picking any one sometimes becomes difficult. There are also different varieties and qualities of paints available in the market. Some are high quality and some are of low quality. Choosing the high quality paint for the residential property is always advisable because such paints will act as a protective
There are (nearly literally) a million types of polishing compounds on the planet, but no matter what you choose, you really shouldn’t cheap out on your compound. Better compounds deliver better results; clearly, you don’t...
Cavity contamination results in failure to achieve adhesion between the filling and the tooth and subsequent leakage at this interface. Although composite resins have become stronger and more resistant to wear, it's not clear whether they last as long as amalgam fillings under the pressure of chewing. The composite may shrink when placed, producing gaps between the tooth and the filling. This can lead to more cavities in areas where the filling is not making good contact with your tooth. The shrinkage is reduced when your dentist places this type of filling in thin layers. The cost of the composite resins is less than gold filling but more than amalgam
Take a tiny amount of white acrylic paint on a plate and mix it with water to dilute it. The consistency of the paint should be like that of milk, not too thick not too watery.
Charles and Keith uses synthetic materials and polyurethane to ensure affordable prices of their products (Singapore Press Holding, 2009). However, the qualities of the products are not compromised despite its inexpensive prices. The managing director Charles Wong reassured the customers that although the ...
The latest of these products include the 5th and 6th generation bonding agents which include either the one bottle systems which combined the primer and adhesive into one bottle and require prior etching with phosphoric acid; or the self etching (SE) primer bonding systems which eliminate the rinsing step of the etchant, thereby reducing the number of steps in its application and creating a simplified, user-friendly and less technique sensitive material. They maintain the smear layer as a substrate for bonding to the tooth surface (Breschi et al. 2008). As washing off the etchant was eliminated by this technique there was no threat of collagen

The second problem was solved by the brand is a simplification of choice. Every day consumer is faced with many similar products, and he just physically does not have time to compare all the annotations, the percentage composition, indications and specifications (f...
The properties of paint determine the general quality of the coating and its workability, ease of application and resistance characteristics.
