Student success during prepharmacy and pharmacy school seems to be more focused on a students success before they enter a professional pharmacy school. Throughout this article I learned that a lot of these students don't get the perfect 4.00 GPA that I was expecting. majority are achieving about a 3.7 GPA, while the minnimum schools require is a 2.00 GPA. Schools take into account course repeats very seriously. Many students that managed to get into pharmacy school still ended up having to repeat courses during their undergrad stage. about 50% of students had to repeat at least 1 course, 30% repeating 2-5 courses. Even though they had to repeat multiple courses to maintain an adequate GPA they still managed to enter pharmacy school and be successful throughout their 4 years. Through reading this I learned not to worry so much about getting into pharmacy school, even though …show more content…
“Relationship of Prepharmacy Repeat Course History to Students’ Early Academic Difficulty in a Pharmacy Curriculum.” American Journal of Pharmaceutical Education, American Association of Colleges of Pharmacy, 25 Dec. 2015, eds.a.ebscohost.com/eds/pdfviewer/pdfviewer?vid=6&sid=8106fa79-52a7-42dc-9058-06b44d907f0e%40sessionmgr4009. When pharmacy students finish school and start looking for jobs many employers look for people with previous leadership experience. It seems as though many students have trouble with being a figure of leadership since most of us just cram our faces in books and don't leave much time for a social life. Luckily most schools consider specific volunteer work as an act of leadership, so that helps lift some weight off my shoulders. Overall studies have shown that students have more succes out of school when they represent a leadership figure.

Leadership is a not only a necessary quality to have but I wish to display this quality in my future career as a Physician Assistant. Being a leader is required in order to succeed in the rural primary care field. Incorporating this leadership quality in my career as a Physician Assistant is important to me because I have displayed this quality through the classroom, athletics, volunteer work, etc and I wish to continue to displa...
Throughout the years of being a student at Council Rock, I have come to the realization of what a true leader is. A leader is not someone that just plans events, collects money, or shows up to meetings. Rather, this is someone that has a true connection with their peers, and has unmatched passion for what they do. With this, I can confidently say that since seventh grade, as a young adult, I have been shaped into an individual that fits these traits. Since that time, I have been involved in student government,
In “The Fish” by Elizabeth Bishop, the narrator attempts to understand the relationship between humans and nature and finds herself concluding that they are intertwined due to humans’ underlying need to take away from nature, whether through the act of poetic imagination or through the exploitation and contamination of nature. Bishop’s view of nature changes from one where it is an unknown, mysterious, and fearful presence that is antagonistic, to one that characterizes nature as being resilient when faced against harm and often victimized by people. Mary Oliver’s poem also titled “The Fish” offers a response to Bishop’s idea that people are harming nature, by providing another reason as to why people are harming nature, which is due to how people are unable to view nature as something that exists and goes beyond the purpose of serving human needs and offers a different interpretation of the relationship between man and nature. Oliver believes that nature serves as subsidence for humans, both physically and spiritually. Unlike Bishop who finds peace through understanding her role in nature’s plight and acceptance at the merging between the natural and human worlds, Oliver finds that through the literal act of consuming nature can she obtain a form of empowerment that allows her to become one with nature.
Spirituals: African American spirituals are a key contribution to the creation of the initial genre of jazz. African Americans used spirituals during the earliest turmoil of slavery. These spirituals were used as songs to sing during labor and an initial way of communication for the Underground Railroad. These African American folk sounds mixed with gospel hymns were sun fused with instruments such as the harmonicas, banjos, and other instruments that could primarily be found. This initial form of the music started to separate itself from the gospel rendition. This mixture of different styles of music fused and gave birth to such things as minstrel shows, ragtime, and other forms of music. The most important that spirituals truly helped develop, was Jazz. Spirituals were the first true form of Negro expression in the form of music. Marshall W. Steams, Professor of English Literature at Hunter College states that “The spiritual was created out of nowhere by a sort of spontaneous combustion of Negro’s genius” (125). This mixture of hymns and instrumental instruction took form into one of the most versatile genres known to date, Jazz.

There he stands atop the stairs of the Lincoln Memorial, in the nations’ capital, at a podium, speaking to the world. The crowds faces full of hope. Ears opened wide and clear, for the Dr. is speaking today. He is speaking from the heart and telling the nation that he has a “DREAM.” Dr. King had a dream and as most people think that it is geared towards blacks and whites, it’s not. Dr. King wanted equality between everybody. He wanted freedom from racism and prejudice throughout the nation. He was very good in getting the emotional perspective of persuasion across to his audience. King was a very inspirational man; his words were so true and full of meaning. He spoke to everyone and got everybody involved. This is why people followed him and why I think this is the most persuasive piece we have read. He not only implies his wants but he carries along with him the wants and needs of every man or woman ever treated poorly because of the color of their skin or their beliefs. There is a certain unexplainable meaning and feeling when a man like King steps up in front of the world and says, “I have a Dream.”
The theme death has always played a crucial role in literature. Death surrounds us and our everyday life, something that we must adapt and accept. Whether it's on television or newspaper, you'll probably hear about the death of an individual or even a group. Most people have their own ideas and attitude towards it, but many consider this to be a tragic event due to many reasons. For those who suffered greatly from despair, living their life miserably and hopelessly, it could actually be a relief to them. Death affects not only you, but also those around you, while some people may stay unaffected depending on how they perceive it.
If we look at sociology in general, it is a study of society and human behavior. However, to be able to understand it in deeper sense we need to understand humans itself and how they interact with one another in a crowd. This involves observing humans in a micro (individual itself) and a macro level (how an individual interacts with government, family and other social institutions. As we all know, the great sociologist, C. Wright Mills defined the term “Sociological Imagination” which helps us understand the connection between individual and sociological demographics along with the history and biography. Another famous sociologist named W. E. B. DuBois wrote a book “Souls of Black Folks” where he explained the struggles of black people in the United States during The Civil War. I believe that the concept of Sociological Imagination and Idea of Double Consciousness are very intertwined with each other and can be synced to explain many behaviors of our society.

As written in the book Student Leadership by Dr. Tim Lautzenheiser, he outlines many ways on how a student should lead their peers. Lautzenheiser believes that a student leader shouldn’t be chosen for how talented, popular, or how well their academic standing is. Instead the student leader should be chosen for how well they interact with others and how they are considerate of their peers. Being dedicated is a quality that every leader should obtain, but being cooperative and giving are the two levels of maturity that a student should be at before receiving a leadership position.
The teachers are the obvious choice when it comes to who would be the leaders, but the students also are leaders. However, to be a leader among students does not necessarily mean they are good role models or positive influencers. Some students lead others poorly by how they treat people and how they act as a student themselves. The effective student leaders, however, work diligently behind the scenes. Serving as a student servant leader in any school can be difficult and the role does present many challenges, which is why those students must possess a great amount of patience.
As seniors we are looked up to by descending grades, with this comes leadership. I am not only Secretary of Student
In the beginning they must have skills in reading comprehension, active listening, critical thinking and speaking. The education and training to become a pharmacists requires 2 to 3 year of undergraduate and for the D. Pharm. program is 4 years. In their last year of study they must practice under a licensed pharmacist (like an internship) graduate from and accredited college and pass the pharmacy knowledge exam known as the Pharmacy College Admissions Test (PCAT). Although they have an option after completion for D.Pharm, several colleges offer an award Ph.D. degrees. Ph. D degrees give them the opportunity to work in laboratories and further research experiments. After graduation and passing the PCAT to obtain their license, the new licensed pharmacist has endless responsibilities.
Within this discussion board I will be talking about several things. I will explain what a ‘gerontological nurse’ means to me, why so few students pick gerontological nursing, what would increase nurses to choose this, and the similarities between two articles. Gerontological nursing is a aspect in nursing that is reserved for special nurses. Gerontological nursing is a special area of nursing that special people are able to do. Nurses who work within this area are very kind, compassionate, and caring.
