Introduction

Prayer is talking to God with love. It does not need to be scripted, said on your knees, or in a particular location.
God understands all languages, dialects, accents, and yes, he can even understands slang.
This is a collection of my conversations with God or with myself. I wrote them when I was hurt, desperate, scared, frustrated, joyful, and thankful.
I believe in the power of prayer, especially those based on the Word of God. Many of the prayers in this collection are laced with scriptures. It is my way of challenging God and taking Him at His Word.

Today I Choose CLARITY
No more confusion, distortion, or frustration. I choose that which is pure, uninhibited, unencumbered, and free. Free to choose, to dance, to croon, or to just be.

No more smokes and mirrors, masks and facades, costumes and battle gear that just don’t fit. I have to be me. There is no other like me. I am unique, fearfully and wonderfully made by a creator who knew exactly what problem he mixed my idiosyncrasies, weaknesses, strengths, traits, and passions to solve. Because there is only one me, it is unforgiveable that I have wasted so much time trying to be someone else. So today, I am choosing to be my authentic self.
Today I Choose MUSIC
Whether it’s the inspiration of a gospel song, the humor in a familiar ditty, or the hip-shaking, bottom rolling beat of a piece of rock or soca music. I choose to get lost in the melodies and allow them to soothe my soul and calm those giants. I choose music because it is and has always been a lifeline. It’s familiar, it’s always there, and you get to know it so intimately and yet, it never judges you.
