Special knowledge:
I understand working as a police officer is a demanding but rewarding job and despite the demands of such a career I am up for the challenge. In terms of entry requirements, I believe I am suitable for the role of investigation officer as I am over the age required and I hold a full, clean drivers license. In addition, I studied Law at Leeds Beckett University and have recently graduated with a full qualifying Law Degree.
Furthermore, I currently work two jobs, Vue Cinema and Sainsbury’s, both being multi-agency companies. This has given me a lot of experience working with the public. Working unsocial hours is not an issue, I currently work twilight shifts at Sainsbury’s, and this involves working until midnight. I further developed this skill whilst studying at Leeds Beckett University and now use this ability whilst working for Sainsbury’s. I regularly update stock information on products, and this involves sourcing and updating system information.
I understand as an investigating officer there will be times when I am exposed to distressing situations which could affect me emotionally, however, I know to display a level of emotional resilience so that I can deal with victims in a sensitive and considerate manner.
To do so I have developed my communication skills effectively over the past few years whilst working both my current jobs; Vue Cinema and Sainsbury’s and whilst studying Law at Leeds Beckett University. In order to effectively communicate with others I believe it is essential to listen to, not just hear people’s views.
