Pit bull Essay
Pit bulls, also known as the "babysitter breed", have been around for many years. Just recently have they started to be stereo-typed in the media and in society as a vicious breed. People in general are not leery or startled by the type of dogs they are but then you have the ones that shriek or make those unbearable faces when they even hear the name pit bull mentioned in a sentence. They are no different than any other breed of dog, just the way they are raised. All breeds of dogs need love, cuddling and human interaction with structure in the form of tricks for treats or certain praising for things that they do well.
Love is the main infrastructure for any creature. A dog that has been shown love and attention will show love and attention in return. A dog that has been

neglected by its owners, will not have any compassion towards humans or other animals, because it would not have learned love or compassion from the leader of its pack which would be the owner of the animal. Love is a fundamental value in raising such a high spirited animal. Pit bulls require lots of cuddling, they are a very affectionate breed of dog.
Cuddling is also another form of reassuring your pet that they are loved. The bond your dog feels with you when you are close to them and cuddling them lets them know that they are safe and that you are there to protect them and they are there to protect you. Cuddling gives them a sense of well-being and justification that they are where they are meant to be in the family.
The main thing a pit bull needs is structure and discipline. By rewarding good behavior with treats or teaching your dog tricks and rewarding them gives them that structure. They have to have boundaries that they know they cannot cross and teaching them good habits is very important, especially if you own a large breed dog like a pit bull.
In my opinion, pit bulls are an exceptional breed of dog. I myself own four of them and they are the best animals I have ever owned. They all follow commands and love to be cuddled as well as give cuddles, they have never growled, or tried to bite anyone or anything. My dogs know their place in the pack and they know who their leader is and they are our protectors as we are
theirs. Society as a whole puts a big hype on the breed of pit bulls, yes sometimes accidents happen when you have poor owners with bad judgement, and then you have dogs who have been trained or taught to fight or be mean. That is not the dogs fault, but the individual responsible for the care of that animal. When you have been raised with these big, beautiful, and loving creatures, you realize that when you have the heart to give them the love they deserve, they will in turn be the loyal best friends that you deserve.
The reason why Pit Bulls are aggressive is because it’s their nature and that’s the way they’re born. Everyone that is afraid of Pit Bulls says it’s the dog's fault and that it's their nature to fight and kill, but honestly it’s the owners fault for making them that way. “‘Though Pit Bulls have strong jaws and, like most dogs will hold onto their prey after biting it. There is no evidence that a Pit Bulls jaw are anatomically different from those of other breeds’”(Lallanilla). They are more likely than any other breeds to grab a hold of something and shake it. The reason why
Pit bulls, like any other dog, grow into their temperament. The way the dog is raised rounds out their character and general temperament. According to the “American Temperament Test Society: Pit bulls pass temperament tests 84.1% of the time, which ranks them slightly better than golden retrievers (83.8%) and cocker spaniels (81.7%), and well above miniature schnauzers (78.6%),” (The Biting Truth). Myths have generated atrocious attitudes towards this breed for years. The nature of the dog to be a protector to children and the bulky build of pit bulls makes them a very easy breed to target. These opinions ...
Pit Bulls are not born with an aggressive nature as they are born like any other breed, and like any other dog, a Pit Bull will be loving, smart, and loyal, unless it is trained otherwise. The aggressive nature of a dog comes from the dog’s training. If a dog is trained to be loving and loyal, it will have a good temperament, however; if a
To say “pit bull,” however, is a vague reference to several pit bull types, which are considered separate breeds by registries like the American Kennel Club (AKC). Each type has a slightly different breeding history; many began with the breeding of bulldogs with terriers to produce a loyal, compact and tenacious breed (“American Pit Bull Terrier”). The standard three pit bull types most often mentioned by name in breed-specific legislation include the American Pit Bull Terrier, the American Staffordshire Terrier, and the Staffordshire Bull Terrier. That is not the extent of the legislation, however, which also includes dogs that “substantially conform to the breed standards established by the American Ken...
Thesis Statement: Pit bulls are like any breed of dogs that needs to be handled properly by their owners because they can be taught to be less aggressive and more loyal.
Pit Bulls are without a doubt my favorite dog, I adore them. Pit Bulls are very well tempered, loyal, and resilient animals. Bred for big game hunting, Pit Bulls are strong, fierce animals and people who have the wrong intentions for ownership should never own them. I am a strong believer that a potential pet owner should do lots of research before getting any type of animal, without exception. Owners should do as much research before getting a dog as they do in planning for a new home or any other new family member. One of the main things to really think about and understand is your intentions for your selection of an animal with the breeding of the Pit Bull. If you choose a dog with the wrong intentions, specifically a Pit Bull, you will get a dog that behaves aggressively and is dangerous. This owner behavior is what has caused the current plight of the Pit Bull today, where laws have been passed in thirteen states and hundreds of municipalities, as well as every U. S. Military base, banning the ownership of the breed and forcing shelters to euphonize Pit Bulls within 24 hours. These laws are unjust and cruel, and victimize the breed based on the owners’ behavior. I also argue that the blame for the epidemic proportions that the laws have reached is 100% the fault of owners who purposely acquired the Pit Bull with the intention to abuse and fight the dogs, and that these owners are the ones who should be punished, not the dogs. According to the United Kennel Club (UKC), the standard for the American Pit Bull Terrier is a dog that is square and powerful with a blocky head, prominent cheeks and jaw, taut, and muscular body. The average pit bull today will cost you any where from one hundred and fifty dollars to one thousand dollars. Pit bulls have great physical and mental characteristics that make them excellent partners for responsible, active and caring owners (PBRC). Pitbull are very responsive to training, intelligent, strong, energetic, agile, and adaptable and are always eager to please (PBRC). For example, the Pit bull was America’s first war dog serving in WWI, saving many lives from soldier of nerve gases and other chemical and biological harm. In a California based APBT (American Pitbull Terrier) rescue group-encompassed training for Pitbulls to assist persons with disabilities, and with people who needed ther...

Pit bulls can keep people company and take their minds off whatever is bothering them. This breed also has a face that allows them to smile.
A vital question that must be asked though is what is a pit bull? The answer to this has become vague in today’s society, but the simple answer is that there is no one single dog that is a pit bull. There is a myriad of many different breeds that have been grouped together
My oldest daughter had a pit-bull, best dog she owned. Was really good with both her boys and never acted aggressive towards anyone, all she wanted was for someone to pet her belly. I know that my daughter also trained her dog, and made sure she always had something for her to chase, and play with.
