People believe that the most dangerous dog in the world is the pit bull because of their vicious attacks against humans. However, most people don’t know the loving, caring side of pit bulls. Pit bulls originated from England but were brought to America by settlers. They were originally used to fight against other dogs and animals. Bred with the strength of an English Bulldog and with the fearless nature of a terrier, a supreme fighting dog was created. People misunderstand pit bulls for their aggressive traits, but they are truly protective, playful, and loyal animals to be around.

to our face. Pit bulls might misinterpret other people just to protect their owners causing them to attack. Life with Dogs, a website, says, “Pit bulls are born sweethearts, but early socialization and training is key if they are to have any manners.” When it comes to aggressive behaviors, pit bulls are merely protecting their owners. This can be viewed as any parental behavior. If one's child was in danger, they would also become hostile to the attacker. Many people misunderstand Pit bulls' reason for attacking. Their motives are both logical and loving, proving they are a magnificent dog breed. Second, pit bulls are an energy ball waiting to explode for their owners.
Each dog is bred for a specific reason, such as catching rabbits, hunting, and guarding. Pit bulls are originally bred to fight other dogs and animals to death. Pit bulls are half-terrier and half-English Bulldog. Terriers are known for their energy and their motivation to keep on going. English Bulldogs are known for their masculinity. PetsWorld, another website, says, “The American Pit Bull Terrier is an athletic canine breed. Pit Bulls make extraordinary donning mutts in that they are agile, strong, and typically energetic. A pit bull can keep running at paces of around 25-30mph.” Pit bulls are athletic dogs, they are more active than the average dog. busy. Third, pit bulls are loyal not only to the owner but to the owner's entire family. Pit bulls are the best companion one might have in his/her entire lifetime. Pit bulls are so loyal to their owners they often think that when their owners interact with other people. Dog Care says, “Pit bulls are loyal, protective and people-oriented, but they do not reserve their loyalty for just one person.” The fact that pit bulls are also loyal to more than one person, it shows pit bull's extended loyalty nature. It can be seen that Pit bulls are loyal dogs, not only to their owners but to their superiors also. Many people might assume that Pit bulls are aggressive and dangerous animals because of previous events that often lead to a tragic accident.
There are many events that make Pit bulls look bad. On May 30, 2018, a Pitbull mauled an eight-month-old baby while the baby was bobbing on a bouncy chair. Another attack was on October 15, 2014, in California. A 59-year-old man and his 77-year-old mother were attacked by Pit bulls. 2017. Many people think that the most dangerous dog breed is the Pitbull, but many people don’t believe that pit bulls should be an owner's favorite. There are over 340 dog breeds in the world, but none can compare to the protective, energetic, and loyal Pitbull. Overall, Pit bulls are amazing dogs. They lift our mood and make us happy every day. No dog can compare to the amazing Pitbull and their eye-opening origin story.
The reason why Pit Bulls are aggressive is because it’s their nature and that’s the way they’re born. Everyone that is afraid of Pit Bulls says it’s the dog's fault and that it's their nature to fight and kill, but honestly it’s the owners fault for making them that way. “‘Though Pit Bulls have strong jaws and, like most dogs will hold onto their prey after biting it. There is no evidence that a Pit Bulls jaw are anatomically different from those of other breeds’”(Lallanilla). They are more likely than any other breeds to grab a hold of something and shake it. The reason why
Pit bulls, like any other dog, grow into their temperament. The way the dog is raised rounds out their character and general temperament. According to the “American Temperament Test Society: Pit bulls pass temperament tests 84.1% of the time, which ranks them slightly better than golden retrievers (83.8%) and cocker spaniels (81.7%), and well above miniature schnauzers (78.6%),” (The Biting Truth). Myths have generated atrocious attitudes towards this breed for years. The nature of the dog to be a protector to children and the bulky build of pit bulls makes them a very easy breed to target. These opinions ...
According to the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (ASPCA), there is a “great deal of confusion associated with the label ‘Pit Bull,’” as it does not refer to a single breed of dog, but rather to a group of breeds with similar characteristics1. These characteristics include short hair, a wide skull and shoulders, muscle definition, stocky build and a deep jawline, the combination of which create a dog that manages to strike fear into a perfect stranger. The term ‘Pit Bull’ is derived from the bulldog, which was originally bred as a hunting dog for large game, but has since developed into a “loyal companion rather than a working dog.”1 Their history as “gripping dogs” for hunters follows them into modern society, as many of these dogs have been inhumanely pitted against one another as well as other animals for sport and for human entertainment1. It is because of these illegal fighting rings that ‘Pit Bull’ type breeds have become the subje...
Pit bulls are believed to have originated in the late 1700’s, when the terriers, typically small dogs bred to catch vermin, were crossbred with bulldogs, a stockier dog whose duty was to catch stray cattle. This produced a dog with a high prey drive with a medium-sized, stocky build and powerful jaws. Contrary to popular belief, the dogs were originally used in the sport of bull-baiting, where dogs would attack the cattle - not other dogs. Since the sport was executed in a pit, the dogs were dubbed ‘pit bulls’ and that name has stuck since. When the sport was banned in 1835, the people who relied on these dogs for an income turned the dogs against each other.
Thesis Statement: Pit bulls are like any breed of dogs that needs to be handled properly by their owners because they can be taught to be less aggressive and more loyal.
...ports Illustrated cover photo of a pit bull (Pit Bull Rescue Central, "Breed Information”). Dog fighting made a comeback during the 1980s and the pit bull became the favorite macho dog for dog fighters. The dogs were trained to kill or be killed. Pit bulls were also the preferred guard dog for gangs, thugs and criminals. Since the supporters and detractors of pit bulls hold such disparate opinions regarding the ferocity of the breeds, it is only hoped that further discussion and education will help resolve the sad fate that awaits these unfortunate animals. Simply placing all the blame on the breeds will not solve the problems of dog fighting, overbreeding, aggressive training, and excessive euthanizations. Lastly, the biased, sensationalistic publicity of horrific dog attacks which has destroyed the reputation of the once beloved All American Dog must cease.
There are a lot of facts and information about pit bulls that the public does not know. The media blows things way out of proportion with this breed of dog and doing simple research can shed some light. “There are three main types of ‘pit bulls,’ they are the Staffordshire Bull Terriers, American Pit Bull Terriers, and American Staffordshire Terriers” (Pit Bull Rescue Center). The Staffordshire bull terrier is originally from England. When it was brought over to the states it was bred with other terriers and the American Staffordshire came to be. Often times people classify dogs that look a certain way as pit bulls, when in fact they are an entirely different breed or a mix of some sort.
Pit Bulls are without a doubt my favorite dog, I adore them. Pit Bulls are very well tempered, loyal, and resilient animals. Bred for big game hunting, Pit Bulls are strong, fierce animals and people who have the wrong intentions for ownership should never own them. I am a strong believer that a potential pet owner should do lots of research before getting any type of animal, without exception. Owners should do as much research before getting a dog as they do in planning for a new home or any other new family member. One of the main things to really think about and understand is your intentions for your selection of an animal with the breeding of the Pit Bull. If you choose a dog with the wrong intentions, specifically a Pit Bull, you will get a dog that behaves aggressively and is dangerous. This owner behavior is what has caused the current plight of the Pit Bull today, where laws have been passed in thirteen states and hundreds of municipalities, as well as every U. S. Military base, banning the ownership of the breed and forcing shelters to euphonize Pit Bulls within 24 hours. These laws are unjust and cruel, and victimize the breed based on the owners’ behavior. I also argue that the blame for the epidemic proportions that the laws have reached is 100% the fault of owners who purposely acquired the Pit Bull with the intention to abuse and fight the dogs, and that these owners are the ones who should be punished, not the dogs. (Davis)
They will play many dog games with children without hurting them. They strive for the love of “their humans.” These dogs could also be great therapy dogs to those they care about. Pit bulls can keep people company and take their minds off whatever is bothering them. This breed also has a face that allows them to smile.
A vital question that must be asked though is what is a pit bull? The answer to this has become vague in today’s society, but the simple answer is that there is no one single dog that is a pit bull. There is a myriad of many different breeds that have been grouped together
There are many different qualities to consider when choosing a dog. Pit Bulls have all the qualities needed to become a great companion. Although, if you treat them wrong when they're growing up there is a good chance they will get out of control. If you raise them right you will have one of the best dogs ever. For example my friend had a Pit Bull that he would hit for no reason and one-day the dog attacked him and hurt him pretty bad. This is a good example of why you should treat your dog right. From my experience raising a Pit Bull I have come to believe they are the best bread of dog. As with any dog you need to raise and treat them right. Naturally they are loyal, smart, strong and courageous.
They were normally bread to be working dogs. Pit bulls were a sense of pride when America had world war 1. “ A dog saved a pluton of by forcing them of a gas attack .” A dog was the inspiration for the militaries k-9 corps.
Pit bulls are sometimes dangerous. An example is of a two-and-a-half-year-old boy named, Jayden, that got attacked by three pit bulls. The pit bulls jumped over their back-yard fence and jumped on the boy. They took his head in their mouth and started shaking their head. In the article, ‘Troublemakers’
Pit-bulls were first bred in the early 1800, they were bred by an english nobleman. According to Hume (2010), “combine the strength of a bulldog and the gameness of a terrier, the muscular, strong- jawed pitbull was the perfect fighting machine.” There is flaw when using the legistional just on pit-bulls; when people just see a random dog they just think it is a pitbull; but it can be a mixed breed or a completely different dog (Rubin). Pit-bull is not one generic breed, within the pit-bull breed there are a few different types. Within the word “pit-bull” there are about 15 types of pit-bull terrier breeds. For an example the three most common ones are Bull Terriers, American Staffordshire Terriers, and Staffordshire Bull Terriers They all have similar features but they are not they same
There are two sides two pit-bulls (if they are trained correctly) calm and vicious or one or the other. As in the video with hulk one of the biggest pi-bulls Ever, he was calm didn't hurt or even bark at the children and that was purely because of how he was treated and trained. He was calm when he needed to be and aggressive when he was meant to be he was guarding even not even being aggressive for no reason. So, what it comes down to in my mind is training and how you treat the pet and that leads me to my
