How to get my pit-bull to stop begging
A common complaint or question I always overheard from dog owners around many dining table is “How to stop your pit bull from begging?” Many dogs owner’s find this habit challenging and a tough task to break. If you are one and searching for a solution to this problem, relax and read through this article.
I believe you will agree with me that your pit-bull didn’t born with this skill. They actually learn it from you or any member of your family as he grow, many dog owners don’t realized their contribution to this unhealthy habit. One of such is when you place a kind of human food under your pit-bull nose during your meal time. He become a slave to that taste, this is the origin of that bad habit problem.
Dog’s in general are notorious for begging for human food, even though they never tasted anything but kibbles. The reason

First of all don’t begin to feed your pit-bull from the table, also tell every members of your family to quit giving your pit-bull food from the table, from the couch, from the chair and from the desk etc. Your pit-bull should only be eating from his bowl.
Secondly ignoring your dog is another possible solution to get rid of this habit, don’t even look at the dog or even making eye contact which is a form of attention, which rewards the behavior you are trying to eliminate. Remember your pit-bull are relatively simple creature who understands behavior, if they perform a certain behavior and that result in rewards, they will repeat the behavior expecting reward in the future.
Also when you are eating, place your dog in a sit or down position and have him remain there until your meal is finished. If your pit-bull don’t sit or stay down, calmly get up and return him to the stay position, command him to “Stay” and walk away. But should in case you want him in the room with you, its better you tethered him to something
The reason why Pit Bulls are aggressive is because it’s their nature and that’s the way they’re born. Everyone that is afraid of Pit Bulls says it’s the dog's fault and that it's their nature to fight and kill, but honestly it’s the owners fault for making them that way. “‘Though Pit Bulls have strong jaws and, like most dogs will hold onto their prey after biting it. There is no evidence that a Pit Bulls jaw are anatomically different from those of other breeds’”(Lallanilla). They are more likely than any other breeds to grab a hold of something and shake it. The reason why
There are breeds that can be classified as outlaws. How can that be? It is like judging a book by its cover, and is not that frowned upon? Society has gone so far with this that there are even laws banning pit bulls in certain counties. Fines have been put in place and outrageous insurance policies must be purchased simply to own a dog. A dog is just that, a dog, until someone comes along and makes it into a monster. A dog may be bred to do something and can be trained to do an entirely different thing. For example, pit bulls have been bred to be nanny dogs. They are supposed to protect babies and ultimately care for them like they would their own pups. Some people have taken this instinct and turned it into something horrid. They have twisted the dogs mind into thinking that it has to fight to protect something all the time. Pit bulls have been classified as vicious and harmful animals. This is discrimination and is because of media skewing stories, ignorant people that refuse to listen to hard facts, and public attitudes and opinions. These laws against breeds are unconstitutional; there is no legislative basis for these laws.
Pit Bulls are not born with an aggressive nature as they are born like any other breed, and like any other dog, a Pit Bull will be loving, smart, and loyal, unless it is trained otherwise. The aggressive nature of a dog comes from the dog’s training. If a dog is trained to be loving and loyal, it will have a good temperament, however; if a
To begin with, pit bulls, like all other dogs, have a tendency to bite. According to the ASPCA, if a Pitbull is socialized to both people and other dogs, they are less likely to be aggressive. Just like people, pit bulls need to know how interact with other living things. If a Pitbull is chained outside and never
A menace to society, lurking in the streets, just waiting for its next victim? This couldn’t be further from the truth for most pit bulls. These fantasised versions plague the breed, outlawing them in many cities, states, and even some countries entirely. These bans are called Breed Specific Legislation (BSL), and in over 700 American cities these laws are in effect. They are in place to decrease the number of attacks by dogs.
Animals become dangerous because they were maltreated by their owners and when the media has exaggerated the danger of its breed to the public. A very good example of lies in society is the concept of the people on the breed of Pit bull Terriers.
“If somebody is too stupid to understand the fundamental immorality of dog fighting, you’re never going to be able to explain it to him” (Kevin Hench). Most people think that pit bulls have locking jaws. This is false however; no dog breed in the whole world has locking jaws. Dogs are not always aggressive how they are raised and trained determines the behavior of a dog. Dogs have tendencies to be aggressive only if not trained properly. The discrimination against pit bulls is wrong and uncalled for. Pit bulls are not the only culprits of attacks and death to humans. Dog fighting and stray pits are the fault of the people who own them. It is man kind’s job to take care of and be responsible for their dogs. Why should the dogs be punished for the actions of their owners? Pit bulls especially take the blame more than any other breed. This is an excellent breed if trained correctly. Pit bulls make excellent family pets to own because of the facts, traits, and the standards and guidelines for breeding and training associated with these breeds.
Pit Bulls are without a doubt my favorite dog, I adore them. Pit Bulls are very well tempered, loyal, and resilient animals. Bred for big game hunting, Pit Bulls are strong, fierce animals and people who have the wrong intentions for ownership should never own them. I am a strong believer that a potential pet owner should do lots of research before getting any type of animal, without exception. Owners should do as much research before getting a dog as they do in planning for a new home or any other new family member. One of the main things to really think about and understand is your intentions for your selection of an animal with the breeding of the Pit Bull. If you choose a dog with the wrong intentions, specifically a Pit Bull, you will get a dog that behaves aggressively and is dangerous. This owner behavior is what has caused the current plight of the Pit Bull today, where laws have been passed in thirteen states and hundreds of municipalities, as well as every U. S. Military base, banning the ownership of the breed and forcing shelters to euphonize Pit Bulls within 24 hours. These laws are unjust and cruel, and victimize the breed based on the owners’ behavior. I also argue that the blame for the epidemic proportions that the laws have reached is 100% the fault of owners who purposely acquired the Pit Bull with the intention to abuse and fight the dogs, and that these owners are the ones who should be punished, not the dogs. (Davis)
Even though pit bulls are the majority of dog attacks anybody hears about, they are loyal and caring dogs. All they want is the love and approval of their owners. They will do anything that they are told to do. Their strength, stamina, and speed fuel the passion they have for their owners. Pit bulls are not vicious by nature; they are good guard dogs fueled by the love for their family; and, they are definitely loyal friends. They have a lower temperament than many other well-known breeds; therefore, they are not vicious by nature at all. They are very strong guard dogs. Pit bulls are known to be a scary breed, so people stay away from them. They have an amazing amount of speed and stamina that they can use to chase predators away, too. Pit bulls are the best friends anyone could ask for. They are loyal and loving creatures that just want to please their family. They are good dogs to train to be around children. If the children are a part of the dog’s family, then the dog will protect the child at all costs. Pit bulls are a good breed to have as a family
I don’t think it is fair to conclude all pit bulls are “vicious” based on the actions of one. I believe towns should punish the deed not the breed. For example, my dog’s previous home had to surrender her because one of their neighbors calling the local city office and complaining that they thought she “looked” like she may hurt one of their children. If she was a teddy bear dog, there wouldn’t have been an issue. Second, not all dogs are raised by the same owners; therefore, they have different attitudes and personalities. Some pits are not as fortunate as others to have nice homes and owners; however, this is true with other breeds of dogs as well. When they have nice owners, they are proven to be loyal, strong willed, obedient, stubborn, and
There are many different qualities to consider when choosing a dog. Pit Bulls have all the qualities needed to become a great companion. Although, if you treat them wrong when they're growing up there is a good chance they will get out of control. If you raise them right you will have one of the best dogs ever. For example my friend had a Pit Bull that he would hit for no reason and one-day the dog attacked him and hurt him pretty bad. This is a good example of why you should treat your dog right. From my experience raising a Pit Bull I have come to believe they are the best bread of dog. As with any dog you need to raise and treat them right. Naturally they are loyal, smart, strong and courageous.
My oldest daughter had a pit-bull, best dog she owned. Was really good with both her boys and never acted aggressive towards anyone, all she wanted was for someone to pet her belly. I know that my daughter also trained her dog, and made sure she always had something for her to chase, and play with. Most pit-bulls need those stimuli to keep them preoccupied, otherwise they might chew on things.
Should Pit Bulls be Banned from Certain Public Spaces? If you have a dog, then I would like you to imagine something. Imagine you are walking your dog one day and someone walks past you but moves to the other side of the street or says something about your dog because of the breed. How would that make you feel? Well, this is what people who own pit bulls and other large breeds go through.
There’s nothing better than a good dog, no matter the breed.” Pitbulls are one of the most protective dogs, just how God made them to be. Some people need to know how much work pitbulls are to train, and all of the time with them all the time so that they behave well. Before banning the pitbull, there needs to be thought put into it first. People that will spend time with the dog and build trust with it, they are the ones that deserve the dog.
A common stereotype of “pit bulls are vicious animals” used as an excuse for why parents will not allow their children to go over to a pit bull owning person’s house to play with other children. In recent times the pit bull has received a bad reputation from the media due to dog fighting cases and false stories. During both world wars the American Pit Bull Terrier was used for many military propaganda posters because of its powerful and loyal characteristics as well as held officer positions in the military. Many households, such as my own, find the breed to be the best pets for their families because Pit Bulls are very protective and loving dogs. Even though Pit bulls can have an aggressive behavior if not trained properly, I believe the American
