Philosophy of Worship As God is center of believers worship, so worship is the center of every Christian life. A Christian denomination that consists of a particular group, and that continuously organize their meeting regularly must meet the biblical mandatory checkpoint in worship. The word checkpoint I used means worship has to meet the requirement of the scripture without compromise. This is because today worship has turned to be a nightclub where people go to entertain themselves, and forgetting that Supreme-Being who is the center in worship. In Christian worship, there is one goal which always stood out in worship and that is the doxological of God. In the book of 1 Chronicles 16:28–29 the bible tells us, “Ascribe to the Lord, O families of the peoples, ascribe to the Lord glory and strength! Ascribe to the Lord the glory due his name; bring an offering and come before him! Worship the Lord in the splendor of holiness;” This can be elaborated that worship has one ultimate goal that is giving the glory to whom it is due. In 1 Corinthians 10:31 (NASB) we are also told that, “Whether, then, you eat or drink or whatever you do, do all to the glory of God.” That is believers are to glorify God in their behavior and conduct in worship. That means the elements in the worship should locally suit the people. This includes singing of local songs, hymns, and even using local language for preaching and reading of God’s word for the local people does understand. However, all these activities are done in regards to the biblical structure of worship. Though, there is no scripture which says worship should be done in this way or that, but the principle can be applied to bring glory to whom it is due.
