My philosophy of ministry consists of many level of pondering, learning, shaping and experiences throughout my Christian walk. With the intent of guidance, my parents growing up steered me with their own logic and experiences, which were acquired from their ancestors from previous generations. The combination of the family you grow up in, and the community you live in and the schools you go to, can impacts your initial belief system. Over time people will dismiss certain traditions because the world or cultural changes. Nevertheless, Christianity was a customary practice in my household. Life brought new experiences, both good and bad.
My philosophy of ministry has directed me to seek God first, family and then ministry. Every step had to be developed, through God and His transformation. As I began to grow spiritually, God’s Word revealed that I am nothing without him. God truly will order your steps. Especially when we remain focus on God. Seeking God first, is my mission statement as a Christian. Once I declared that down in my spirit, my life began to change. God deals with every person per their needs and the plan He has from them. Every person

Including being consistent in practicing disciplines, and abstaining from behaviors that would discredit my witness. Obedience is key, even when others are not practicing obedience. As I stated earlier God said, He would equip me. A relationship with Christ is a journey. I realized faith is a prerequisite, because you cannot approach God without faith. When I began to understand salvation, a light bulb began to come on. God’s grace through Jesus Christ, is how we became righteous in God’s sight. (Ephesians 2:8-9) Paul’s message is salvation is by grace through faith apart from good works. What was transpiring, my belief system was being shaped, “spiritual rebirth” of the human spirit from the Holy
Geography led to the Han dynasty decline because of how the government kept splitting the land to itty-pieces of property and charged a profuse amount of tax. “To escape their taxes farmers and landowners often gave their property to powerful magnates and became tenants on their estates”. Due to the high amount of tax a lot of money couldn’t be given to the tax collector because of the corrupt government.
Ministry is messy, filled with many dichotomies that that can sabotage a minister’s effectiveness. Can a minister be entrepreneurial while being a good steward? Can a ministry grow and still be healthy? How does the business of ministry and culture of the church coexist? How do ministries remain ethical while maintain the business of ministry? These are the questions that pastors face and must answer correctly in order to be effective.
Theodicy is the problem of evil in a world ruled by a sovereign and good God. That is, if an omnipotent God can prevent evil… why does He choose not to prevent evil. Especially since God hates and disapproves sin and corruption. For example, David writes in Psalm 5:4, “For you are not a God who delights in wickedness; evil may not dwell with you.” However, many theologians believe that sin and punishment are willed and determined by God. Our text helped explain a few of these theories, and specifically how Job solves the issue of theodicy (Estes p. 26-27).
This course has opened my eyes to faults that I did not know that I was making when it involved evangelism. This has delivered a conviction that has incited my soul and desire to do and be a better witness for my God. When I was
One should continually quest for spiritual growth and the practice of grace-full leadership. Ultimately, let me fight the good fight of faith, (1Timothy 1:18; 6:12, King James Version). I hunger for Christ and seek His presence in every facet of my life. I strive to deepen my spiritual habits to support my walk in Him. I want to fellowship with other Christians, learning from and sharing with them.
Understanding that one of the goals of the church is to win souls and lead the captive to liberty (Prov. 11:30, Lk 4). We also desire to see you built you up in the faith (Jude 1:20, Acts 20:32, Col 2) as you take advantage of the opportunities to give of yourself in worship, fellowship, and acts of love. I believe this process develops Spiritual growth, faith, and humility in the life of the believer. Learning to work together with one another helps us to see ourselves more accurately with the help of the body. We also look forward to seeing you equipped for service as you submit to the process of involvement in the many opportunities that become available (Phil 2:1-2).
Luciano Francisco Victor Instructure: Professor Simon Makuru APH 208 Christian Philosophy 28 March 2024 The Importance of Studying Christian Philosophy In today's world, most people are becoming faithless, unspiritual, and amoral, with religions dying and cultures and morals becoming worthless; many church buildings are being converted into bars; others are becoming personal or family businesses; and many church leaders are becoming more corrupt than politicians themselves. As a result, technology is advancing at a rapid pace, with artificial intelligence becoming a new form of spirituality and robots becoming gods of many religions. So, how can Christian Philosophy be of help in these instances of this era?
What is Christianity all about? What are the basic beliefs of Christianity and how did it begin? According to (AllAboutReligion, 2010),” Christianity began about 2000 years ago in Judea, [presently known today as Israel] with Jesus Christ and His faithful group of disciples”. This paper will address the viewpoint of the Christian faith and its outcome. The central message of Christianity is based upon the teachings of Jesus and his promises. Christianity teaches that there is merely one God in all existence and that God created the universe. It also teaches that Jesus is the only way to be set free from the coming judgment of God and that Jesus desires his values and his standards to abound. Moreover, Christianity is the only religion that offers a savior. Religion has been in every culture since the beginning of human society and there are many religions competing for the heart of humanity throughout the world at large. The following characterizations are based on the Christian faith: redemption, covenant and grace. Although Christianity is a matter of choice for the human race, what type of influence did it have on the China, Africa, and Rome inhabitants?
Koessler says, “discipleship comes before obedience.” This profoundly states that obedience is the consequence of truly being a disciple, but it is not the foundation. Koessler also states that “there are two kinds of obedience, legalistic obedience and grace obedience.” He says that legalistic obedience is kind of compliance that is engrained in our accomplishments and humanly efforts. Grace-rooted obedience distinguishes that righteousness is a gift that can only be received, the gift the Holy Spirit provides for us. It cannot be earned and/or netted as a wage. This is the kind of obedience that I should be able to understand and practice. In obedience and faith, I can believe that God’s commands are for my own good. I have to trust Him in that; his perspective is much better than mine. I want to focus on the fact that He loves me and wants to help me, and that He won’t give me unnecessary burdens. As our Creator, He has the wisdom to know how I should live, what works best and what causes the most happiness in the long run. I want my obedience to express faith in His wisdom and love. Obedience is what He made me for, and my life will work better if I am in tune with Jesus. Obedience will help set me up for the next important attribute, abiding in
If we follow the three methods for living a transformed Christian lifestyle outlined by Wright, we are to read the Word of God and obey His instructions consistently. John 5:39 declares “Search the scriptures; for in them ye think ye have eternal life: and they are they which testify of me.” (John 5:39 - King James Version) Consistency is key to developing godly habits that we have to decide to act on daily and not occasionally. As Christians, there are at least six attributes that contribute to the shaping of the human person in God’s image. Reason, freedom, leadership, the capacity to act in conformity to the image of God, the capability of having a relationship with God and with others and preserving the sanctity of life.
Christian leadership is a life style not power Leadership in Gods’ perspective being servant, lead by example. From God perspective leadership is serving others, making disciples. My philosophy for leadership to serve and it is a good opportunity to serve
Truly, one must not take for granted of the values and the pillars of which the ministry was founded upon. Yet, these have been put in place for those who want to know about, how, who, when, where the ministry was founded. As a result, when I look at the biblical basis of my beliefs, it is what I was taught from a little boy up to the man I am today. Because of these values that I have today upon growing up, I am able to instill these same values in my boys. So they can grow and be the young men that God call them to be.
As a student at the University of Portland, who has now spent a semester living amidst the Catholic culture, I have started to think about religion fundamentally different than prior to this year. Theology class has been enlightening. In class, a new external lens of how one can view faith while learning to think critically in the search of truth has been presented. The inquisitiveness in me has led me to ask hard questions regarding myself, my perceptions, my misconceptions, and even some heartfelt convictions while contemplating my faith. I have experienced legitimate struggles. I acknowledge I have ignorant barriers keeping me from totally living a life with God and for God due to the confusion of exactly what that means. “All truths are
Evangelism is one of the key component for changing people’s lives. McRaney states, “The word evangelism comes from a combination of Greek words for “good” and “messenger.” Evangelism involves bringing the goods. Kent Hunter reminded us that “when Christians witness, they tell how Jesus Christ has changed their own lives. The change in their own lives gives them the desires to share the Good News with others.” Christians must share their testimony to people and spread the gospel so that they can bring lost souls to Christ. God has commissioned every Christian to evangelize so that people will learn about Jesus Christ and accept Him as their personal savior. Matthew 28:19 states, “Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit”. Christians are required to spread the Gospel throughout the world and can no longer just attend church. Christians must plant seeds and water the seeds so that lost souls will be saved.
Islam is often viewed as a religious tradition which originates from the seventh century. An important part of Islam is based on the prophet Muhammad, and the great revelations in which he received from God, according to the Quran. However, it is most important to realize that Muslims do not view Islam as a new religion. Muslims believe that Allah is the same God who revealed himself to Abraham, Moses, and Jesus. Therefore, Jews, Christians, and Muslims are all followers of the same living God. Muslims believe that the Quran is the final and complete revelation of God to all people. It is not easy for some people to accept the fact that God exists when there have been so many throughout history. You cannot also say if someone’s religion is right or wrong or the God they believe in is a “Supreme” god. Why Islam and not Christianity? Why Hinduism and not Judaism? Every one of them different and they vary from one another; they have different rules and are all passionate about their belief. But the fact still remains that there is one who is above all and he is God. God is Omnipresent, omnipotent, and Benevolent.
