Sometimes it may be difficult to just get up and take care of your everyday responsibilities. Our bodies sometimes do not want to co operate with us, as well as our mood, or even our mental health. However, pushing yourself to be productive can help you accomplish many things throughout your life. Today in my persuasive speech I will encourage you to take some of the facts to live a better life by talking about the mental health benefits of exercising, how exercising increases your mood, and how it also increases a person’s productivity.

Exercise can be a great way to lift your mood because,when you exercise your body feels more relaxed and calm. In article, Exercising and Improving Your Mood by Mark Stibich, PhD states,”When you exercise, your brain releases endorphins (deals with the brain and nervous system), adrenaline, serotonin (which has to do with your blood vessels) and dopamine (which deals with neurotransmitter, a nerve impulse)”. These chemicals all work together to make you feel good and after exercising you may feel a sense of accomplishment and your muscles will relax deeper because of the workout. A great form of exercise to improve your mood cardiovascular exercises and aerobics. As Mark Stibich states,”Cardiovascular exercise and aerobics are great for creating the intensity required for a mood-raising chemical high”. Also another exercise that can help a person improve their mood is yoga. Yoga has been shown in studies to reduce tension and stress while improving a person’s mood. Ratey, MD (2008), Ratey discuses how exercise can help treat many mood disorders and how it can help strengthen our brains. This book is divided into ten chapters all with five to ten subsections in them. Exercise has many positive effects on patients suffering from a mental health disorder, such as depression or anxiety. Recently, there has been controversies regarding towards college standardized test scores where for example, high school students take the SAT for colleges and they decide to weight more on the person’s scoring on the SAT. Despite the junior and senior high school student’s hatred of taking the SAT, are the tests worth it? Though people in this room may have their judgements about my decision, but everybody view their opinions, view their experiences and view their perspectives differently. In ahead of time, I apologize to those who may think I will offend them. Don’t consider this as a debate, but do consider it as a freedom of speech by the first amendment.

It is understandable that friends, family and a social life exists and that also needs to be taking care of. Exercise reduces stress, improves your sleep and from it allows you to gain a social aspect consider as new friends. If exercised daily or even when there is time during the week it will improve and change your life allowing you to not fall asleep or be tired all the time. It will reduce stress by being distracted on productive activities like playing tennis, going hiking, running at the park or even walking around the neighborhood.
