A Narrow-Minded Passageway
The hallway is small, but the amount of people in it is not. Day after day they crowd; never failing to talk throughout passing time. They are oblivious to the traffic. A classroom is behind them--door wide open--the wider hallway is adjacent. Not one or two people linger, but a group forms. The already narrow hallway feels cramped and suffocating when they gather. People that do it may not know any better, but these actions are not productive. We must learn to correct them for the sake of ourselves and our fellow students.
You, as an individual attending this school, have most likely witnessed, or have been in a situation where there is a person that has blocked your path. You may have even blocked the path of others during your time at the Park. Whether it is from being a slow walker on the Path, or someone who stops in the middle of the hallway. All of us can relate. But after turning the corner and seeing a wall of people, you have a few choices you could make. There is another hallway to your right; you could take the extra minute and go through there, but the classroom is only a couple feet away, even with the division making it seem longer. You decide to continue on forward; it feels as though you are fighting against a current. Calls of “Excuse me” are washed out with their loud conversation. Once you are in their group--trying to get out--waves of people push you back. You are forced in a different direction, falling back on your steps; there is no choice but to push your way through.
