School is the one thing most kid dread the most. They have to wake up early and go to a place where they have to learn for 8 hours. One thing that kids don't dread is their summer vacation. 2 whole months of sitting around not having to do anything. The idea has been brought up that school should go all year. Some parents might agree on this so they don't have to deal with their children all day long for 2 months straight but the students are not on board with this. There are tons of students in every single school who are involved in after school activities such as sports or clubs. Those students tend to spend their day going to school, then going to practice, and occasionally having a game. After doing this 3 out of five days a week
Many parents tend to question if they or their child is ready for early college. They fear their child isn’t mentally or emotionally focused to go off to college by themselves. What they don’t realize is students going to college early bring about better jobs, connections, opportunities, and a better experience.
How important is a college education? High school seniors should consider going to college because students who gain a college education often have higher lifetime earnings and a great quantity of other benefits. There are more employers who choose to hire applicants with college degrees. People who lack college degrees are more likely to be limited to basic jobs. Those with a high school education may obtain jobs with good benefits, but college graduates often earn better. Although going to college costs a lot, it is actually true that high school seniors should go to college because they’ll learn more skills that can be applied to their jobs and they’ll have much more benefits while having a career.
Would you consider going to a school where you learn year-round? Maybe this would be your ideal school, but, when would you get to have some time to go to summer camp, or get a summer job, or play a sport with games during the day? Schools with the traditional schedule may actually be a better choice, and not just because kids love summer break. Schools should have a traditional school year schedule instead of a year round schedule because there isn’t a significant difference between the students’ performance, and year round schedules make planning family vacations hard, make the teachers’ job more difficult, and are more expensive. Also, having a summer break allows kids to participate in activities that they would not be able to do on a year round schedule due to the shorter breaks.
College education goes about the way to an effective future for people who are not kidding with it. Currently, a college education has turned in the base necessity in securing a job in different companies and although some people might think college is not worth the debt, in a long run it actually is.
Student athletes live very busy lives. A typical school day runs from 8:00-2:30, add in a two- hour practice or game, score a part time job, dive into some family time, a grand slam of homework and catch a little bit of sleep. Students are more stressed due to the many activities they are a part of. This issue affects a lot of people not only in this school district, but most other high schools throughout the country. All student athletes exercise more than other children who are not involved in an extracurricular sport. In school athletics, the players are called “student athletes” meaning that school activities come first. There are strict rules for student athletes, not only on the field but in the classroom as well. In physical education
Although large numbers of unemployed young people is a problem in many other countries, I think the situation is especially bad in the United States. The unemployment among the today’s youths of United States has risen “by 2.1 million to 20.3 million from April to July 2015” (USDL). Indeed, I think the numbers published by the U.S Department of Labor (USDL) are shocking and the fact that they are skyscraping makes it distressing. Especially, when we consider that between April and July large numbers of high school and college students search for summer jobs, and many graduates will start their job hunt, yet not all youths get accepted for a job. Then, a large number of jobless and immature youths make poor lifestyle choices (such as violence
There is no doubt that education is one of the most important factors that influence development of individuals, personally and socially. By obtaining an education people become capable of developing the necessary skills to be successful and live productive lives. It has been established that education gives people the knowledge and tools they will need to be eligible for well-paying jobs. Unfortunately, in the United States many high school students fail to graduate every year and mostly drop out of school when they are close to graduating. For many years the US led the world in high school graduations, however, the US now ranks “21st globally among developed nations” around the globe (OECD countries). Currently, three European countries lead
“Extending [a] schedule could cost on average [of] $1,200 extra per student” (Arnold 1). The government has been debating on if increasing the school day would benefit grades K-12 (Tucker 1). Increasing a school day causes exhaustion and a shorter attention span in most students. Government should not make the school day longer.
Due to certain circumstances, students are not permitted to leave school grounds to go have lunch off-campus. Critics are quick to argue that it is unsafe, and adds unnecessary dangers that could be avoidable by not leaving the school area. It is arguable that such doubt can be preventable with precautions that the school and staff can take in order to prevent any foreseeable accidents, and also reward those who do well in school by offering them off campus passes to let them go to lunch, in return students will have to maintain good grades and behavior. Therefore, students in school should be given the freedom to leave school campus during their lunch period as long as they maintain good grades, good attendance, and good behavior.
A college education is necessary today in society. Students can focus on their academics and try to get a high score. The cost of education for each student has become more difficult to afford. Thus, many students and teachers wonder if free college tuition must be granted. Free education must be responsible and funded by the U.S. government because it will help students focus on their studies, and encourage them to work harder in school. Even thought many people think that education must be free, it is very important for many reasons such as the economy, quality of education, and value of a college degree.
Schools are putting more emphasis on education early on. Kindergarten is no longer just easy creative opportunities but instead is a chance to jumpstart reading, writing, and math. To ensure children take away as much as possible from the experience it is important they are prepared. Kindergarteners with summer or early fall birthdays typically are younger than their classmates and many do not have the key skills, which develop with age, to make them successful. Waiting a year before starting school provides time for younger children to develop further.
Being a teenager isn’t easy. You have a lot of things on your mind, a lot of things to worry about, a lot of things to carry and when I mean carry, I mean both physically and mentally. During the 17 years of my life that I have lived so far, I believe that I have never carried this much before. Part of it I think is because it’s senior year. Actually I think that 's the biggest reason why I feel so much pressure on my shoulders. I’m pretty sure that everyone can agree on this, especially if you’ve been through it before. I’m not talking to the adults of course because I know your lives are difficult and what not, but I’m mostly talking to the teens who are currently going through the same stage of life that I’m in right now. Now I’m not saying my life is difficult in any means because I know that I
Schools can give responsibility to students but never without a cost. Students should have to chance to prove their worth to schools and show how responsible they can be as adults. When students go to college classes as high schoolers they sometimes tend to have more free time during those times. If a child has enough responsibility to take those classes they should have enough to leave school and be trusted to come back to school after their free time is over. Although leaving school early is not something that is smiled upon it should be because some students are ahead and can work their schedule to allow extra time because of hard work in early years.
Teens today face a lot of pressure. Many students deal with difficult life situations that hinder them from focusing on their futures. This can lead to a loss of interest in school and school events, such as a sports, clubs, or after school programs. Teens start to prioritize other things over their education. Every year, over 1.2 million students will leave school without earning a high school diploma in the United States alone (“11”). That’s a student every 26 seconds – or 7,000 a day (“11”). The United States, which used to have the highest graduation rates of any country, now ranks 22nd out of 27 developed countries (“11”). Students may not realize that by dropping out of high school they are more likely to commit crimes, become parents at a young age, use and abuse alcohol and drugs, and live in poverty (“Drop”). Dropouts make up the majority of those
Education is one of the most important aspects of our society. By educating Americas youth we are molding the minds who are going to run and find new solutions to the problems are country faces today and for the future. However education, in general, is facing some serious problems. One of the most important aspects in running anything, including a school, is finances. If a school does not have adequate funding, the students will not be able to learn and grow to achieve their goals. There are many aspects that go into the funding of school but the question is being raised, do we need to change the way we go about funding our
