In society today many people struggle with obesity. Nobody can put a price tag on life. Many people today need to reevaluate where their priorities stand. The downward spiral for society will continue to get worse, unless everyone takes action to their lives! Opportunities in today’s society show endless ways to get back into shape. Starting up running will change everyone’s life for the better.Many positive benefits to participating in running include; experiencing a fun time, the health benefits, cost affective sport, and anyone can promote organizations.
First off, when starting to get into shape many people dread the thought of exercising.When anyone gets into shape everyone can reach a point of fun and fulfillment. Through running anyone can experience a never ending enjoyment. When running anyone can acquire a good time “running does more than help improve your physical and mental health. It can improve your social life, too” (Delorez and Hanc 16). When running anyone can run with a partner or run alone, the decision rests on the person running. Personal opinions vary as to what constitutes fun. Physically running with someone creates bonding, companionship and competition. Training for a race provides and creates a positive mindset “The best running partner is also someone who shares or at least acknowledges your goals and enthusiasm” (Barrios 128).When running alone, the activity can generate personal reflection“…..time can be a wellspring of meditation, stress relief, and mental cooling off” (126). When continuously running everyone should get a good nights rest “Researches conducted on Insomniacs proved that on the day when they ran, they were able to sleep within 17 minutes compared to the regular days without running, which took them 38 minutes to sleep” ("Top 15 Reasons Why Running Is Good for Your Health : Human N Health"). A good nights rest mentally prepares anyone for the day to come.With all the bonuses to running no one will go back. Running contributes to getting a stronger immune system and maintaining one. Anyone can burn and loose calories in a healthy manner through running. Running causes everyone to look younger for longer. Running diminishes the risks of heart health problems and many people will be mentally strong for the next day to come. Participating in running will improve everyone’s life through the health benefits of getting active.
The last time I did not run for consecutive days, was during Middle School. Running has been a very powerful tool for me, and the joy it brings is something I carry. As a person who has an unhealthy amount of anxiety in my life, running has been an outlet for me. Whenever I feel anxious or stressed out, I run. There are two ways running brings me relief; the first is it is an immediate distraction from whatever is bothering me. In addition, running also gives me a “runner's high” after I run. While this may seem unimaginable, it is actually very real because the pleasure of finishing a workout has few parallels. After I run, for the rest of the day, my mood is elevated.
For many years, there has been debate if running barefoot is truly a good practice for runners. Some world-class runners, like Abebe Bikila, Bruce Tulloh, and Zola Budd, have won on marathons, earning gold medals, while running without shoes on.
Of the more than twenty million Americans who are running today, most who start do so for the wrong reasons, with the wrong attitude, and tend to lose interest after a few weeks or months. Many quit. This is usually because they become concerned with superficial goals such as time and distance and never discover the more profound mental benefits that running offers. (Lilliefors 15)
Running is an action or a movement, but actually it serves as more than just that. Running is what the human body was made to since the creation of the human species. Over many years of evolution the body has evolved and become adaptable to different types of running. Many who begin running at such a young age whether it is long distance or sprints,but have never stopped and realized, wait how is this affecting my body? Many believe that there is all good to running and that no harm can come from it. Others may argue that it comes with a series of lasting internal injuries that may not affect them at the moment but affect them in the long run. The physical characteristics associated with running can come with a list of positives, but have we forgot about the negatives ? Runners remain with lasting injuries that serve as injurious to the body . The benefits and downfalls in the physical aspects of running serve in areas such as the heart, bones, and joints.
Image spending 24 hours,12 months and 365 days of just being inactive then BAM! you die. A 2012 study from the England University of Leicester showed that prolonged sitting was also linked to a greater risk of death from all causes. Exercising has become a norm in our society today with things such as gyms opening, vegan diets, and even television programs, but as of early 2018, 80% of adults don't get the recommended amount of exercise. I believe that exercise is important and everyone should participate in trying to improve their health. Just think about it and it might surprise you.

Like running and swimming, through working the heart muscles and increasing your heart rate running can also improve endurance and cardiovascular health by allowing the blood to pump more powerfully.
