There is so much to be discovered in our vast world of technology. Scientists and researchers work hard everyday to educate themselves and others on the advances capable of being achieved. There are people learning about new technology, different scientific and medical methods, and most of all medicine everyday. However, there is always a price to pay with hypotheses running their course through experiments, and that is the testing subject. Scientists feel the best choice for such research is to use animals to be tested, and that great achievements in the science world are worth it. Just as these scientists are, testing on innocent animals is completely wrong. Just because they are available for testing, and don’t have any ability to opt out in these experiments, does not mean they are right for the job. Predominantly, animal testing is proven to be cruel and inhumane, even with cosmetic experimentation. Animals feel pain just as humans do, so if it’s wrong to test on humans for these reasons, why is it acceptable to do so on animals? Scientists say that animals like chimps and mice are so genetically similar to humans, so they are great test subjects. However, if such animals happen to be so close to humans, the humane thing to do would be to not test on live creatures, similar to our species, who feel the same feelings as any other person. There have been many investigations on how these animals are treated, so the Humane Society International did research on the subject and got disturbing results. “Animals used in experiments are commonly subjected to force feeding, forced inhalation, food and water deprivation, prolonged periods of physical restraint, the infliction of burns and other wounds to study the healing pro... ... middle of paper ... ...rnatives to Animal Testing."
