For the morally driven question should animals be used in medical research, the answer is yes. It has been proven over the course history that animals prove insight to many of the medical questions we ask today. As science began to development so did the testing of animals and humans for medical research. Animals prove many insights to how to cure many illness. Animals should be used for medical research, because many of the animals are links to answers that could save the whole human race. For the entire existence of the human race animal testing has always been a part of it. Animal testing began all the back in 1926, with scientist Arthur Guedel. As the times have changed so has people’s opinions on animal testing. In this quote it highlights an important new development in the ethical matter of animal testing. For many of the sickness that effect everyday humans much of the animals testing have help make a huge steps towards find a cure and more answers that are need. Some believe that sciences has two types; good and bad. Good science is define by Embo Report as (2007) “Good science is define by having a good experimental design that helps reduce the number of animals used in the research. This allow scientists to gather data using the minimum number of animals required” (pg. 50). There are also consequences to good science seen in this quote, (2007)” Good science also means that there is a sufficient number that must be used to enable “precise statistical analysis and to generate significant results to prevent the repetition of experiments and the consequent need to use more animals” (pg. 50). Many of those who are in favor of animal rights believe that animal testing is a cruel act and murder. For some of these testing the animals are left with little time to heal. In addition some animal do not even get a chance to live after the testing. The testing process can be very harsh and brutal.
