Who knew growing up would be so stressful. No one gave me advice on how to get through the rough times, I had to learn on my own. But nothing has or ever will stop me from achieving my goals. Most of my family didn't finish school, or got the chance to start college, but if I Lizette Mendoza finish high school and college, I would be the third person in the family to do so. I want to be that third person to make my parents proud. My career goal is to become a doctor/nurse. More specifically labor and delivery. Family and friends question me about my career, they tell me if I'm sure about it and ready for it. My response to them is always- "of course I am, if I wasn't why would I chose it" just the thought of working with pregnant …show more content…
women and newborns, is something I want to do for the rest of my life. But besides it all I feel that I will be a GREAT doctor or nurse. I wasn't very involved the last three years of high school, I wanted to join clubs and all but times were hard then.
Currently right now I am in HOSA and DECA. I've done community service for HOSAS breast cancer awareness at granger's football game against West high. Joining these clubs and doing volunteer work is a good way to start off my college application looking good. I love to hike, to explore new things Mother Nature has out for us. I also love to play soccer, I played it for two years in middle school. After that I stopped playing. I wanted to join grangers soccer team my sophomore year, but since it had been awhile since I played I was nervous to tryout so I backed out. One of my biggest challenges this year is taking medical assisting. It's a lot of work than I expected, I've thought about quitting a couple times. But I know that if I do I will never get to where I want to be. My mother keeps me motivated, she tells me I can do it when ever I doubt myself. By the end of the year I will take a state test to receive my medical certificate, if I do not pass I will have to retake the class in college until I get my certificate. If it ever comes to this I will continue to overcome my challenges, until I am where I am suppose to
be. I haven't gotten the chance to start applying for scholarships, I've got so much on my plate I can not finish. I want to attend Utah Valley University, because I love their campus and the different programs they have. I should be accepted for this school because I am determined to work hard, not give up, and continue to challenge myself more. I am also a great student, I've never had any problems with any of my teachers. I am a very helpful person, with a big heart, super kind as well. What more could anyone ask for.
In high school I was involved in 3 clubs, 3 varsity sports, and did a least 40 hours of community service through National Honors Society and National Technical Honors Society. I participated in National Technical Honors Society and Health Occupations Students of America(HOSA) through Lapeer County Education and Technical center, and participated in athletics at Imlay City high school. During my high school career I played varsity volleyball for two years, varsity basketball for one year, and varsity soccer for four years, but I jumped back and forth from junior varsity to varsity my freshman year. Also, while being apart of HOSA I was a junior representative my junior year of high school, and I am Vice-President my senior year. And I also mentor our middle school chapter of HOSA and help them to accomplish all of their competitive events.
Dealing with babies and people is something I love, and I want to incorporate that into a job. That’s why becoming an Ultrasound Technician is something I was to pursue because I have the heart for working in the medical field, I love babies, and I will be constantly using skills every day on the job. I have been influenced by my family and friends because they always tell me how I have the heart for working in the medical field. They say I would absolutely love it if I stick with it. My personality assessment and interest inventory told me that I would be best in working in a health career because of my ability to constantly help people and how much I care about my accomplishments. I care more about my prestige and accomplishments than my
As a student in her sophomore year, I am still learning about what I can do and what I want to do. Although I am young, my mother always told me that it is never too early to start thinking about the future, which is why it is an honor to be able to apply for the membership of being part of National Honor Society. I have always loved challenges no matter what the result because nothing is equal to the experience of trying. I take the things I have learned from my past experiences and use them as a guide to help me in the future. I haven't ever once stopped to give up if I encountered an obstacle, but rather embraced it and thought of ways to overcome them.
For as long as I can remember I have set high goals for myself regarding my future, my friendships, and my education. Entering college with these standards I knew that I wouldn’t settle for less than my best, and I would strive to amaze myself at my success. One thing I never fit into my planned path of achievement was any type of struggle, or obstacle that could alter the way I have thought for so long. The first month of college I fell upon an obstacle I never could have imagined. I suffered a knee injury and missed continuous classes following the accident as well as surgery that was necessary to my recovery. These things tested my strength as a person, but also as a student. It made everything a little more complicated, even the little things like getting out of bed in the morning. I pushed myself to see the end of the tunnel I felt seemed impossible to crawl out of. Many things helped me along the way, and just as I hadn’t imagined my accident, I couldn’t have imagined the support I found everywhere around me. I know that I can overcome obstacles in the future now because of my determination for success and the use of helpful resources all around me.
We each come from a distinct background and have had many different life experiences; sharing our professional goals on learning allows us to share where we come from with each other and what we wish to become, which in turn enables us to realize that where there are multiple experiences, there are multiple points of view, and multiple destination. At the same time, we are deeply influenced by our cultural heritage and the environment that surrounds us, which also directs our path; we need to connect ourselves with the world around us in order to understand our place in that world, to learn how and what we can offer to help others, and to learn that we are not alone.
that I wanted to pursue a career in the medical field but I was not sure
“Never underestimate your own strength. You were born for a purpose and are blessed with the power to achieve it” (Leon Brown). I have this quote printed out and on the wall next to my door so I can see it every day as a reminder to myself. I believe that we all have a purpose on this earth and that everything we go through on the journey there has a reason whether to teach a lesson or set an example. We have places where we want to end up and goals we want to achieve. We set these goals and dreams to help us fulfill the purpose we see for ourselves. I believe my purpose is to help people in their times of need. To fulfill my purpose, I will need to use my personal, academic and career goals to create a pathway to get to where I want to be
My primary goal for going to school is to get my education so I can have a brighter future and make an impact in my community. When I go to school, I want to major in biology and obtain my bachelor's degree. After I have received my bachelor's degree, I want to start my graduate studies in medical school. My primary career goal that I want to achieve is to work in healthcare. I want to become a pediatrician, after I finish my education. I want to help children and treat them for common illnesses and diseases. I chose to do this because I want every child to be able to reach their
My entire life I always thought I would never go to college because I hated going to school every day. My school life was not ideal, it was full of people treating me like I am less of a person than everyone else. Little did I know that my now 2 year old would change my entire outlook on getting my degree and planning a career for myself. Colton, my son, has given me a reason to see a future in health care administration and to go back to school to obtain my goals as a clinical manager.
I am finally a senior now. Becoming valedictorian or salutatorian is no longer my number one goal, getting into college is. Today I see that those are just titles and years from now, no one is going to remember who received those titles except for the ones who received them. What will be remembered is who went to college and made something of themselves. I never thought I would be in the position I am in today or that I would be applying for college, but here I am doing just that. I have my mother to thank for my transition for her tears made something click inside my head. When it clicked, I set my goals high and there was no turning back. That old prophet was wrong; the sky is not my limit. The sky is just my beginning.
Deciding what career you want to partake in life is defiantly not a straightforward task. One has to choose something they love to do because, in most situations, they will be in that career field for the rest of their life. This is why it is very important to choose something that you love to do and have a passion for. If you treasure the job you have, then you will live a much happier life. In my case, I am deciding to go into the field of electrical and computer science because it is something that is close to my heart. It is also important when choosing what you want to do in life to set goals. These goals will help you to strive for something greater, and they will give you immense satisfaction once you reach them. Everybody has their
My ultimate goal in my career is to make a commendable contribution to the computing world either by starting an innovative venture or doing research which would change the dimensions of future computing and the way we perceive the computers. Now I have determined that a dedicated higher study on Computer Science will enable me to aggregate all my previous knowledge & experience on the field and encourage in achieving my career goal. I am looking at Graduate studies to provide me with the required expertise to carry out higher studies.
My ultimate goal is to receive my Doctoral degree in social psychology from University of California Berkeley or Stanford University. After receiving my Doctoral degree, I would like to pursue a career in academia by teaching and participating in research. I have also considered a career in research separate from academia, where I would be free to focus on research and less on teaching. My main career goal is to continue to do research and further knowledge in social psychology. The social psychology program at San Francisco State University would help me achieve this goal because they have a strong emphasis on research. The program requires research under a faculty member in their lab, starting one’s first day in the program. The program also
Many people have told me that my educational career goal is difficult to achieve, and it most likely is. I have dreamed of becoming a doctor since I was seven years old and now, I am one step closer. I will be majoring in Biomedical Science (Pre-Professional Concentration) at the University of Central Florida in hopes of attending Medical School.
Those obstacles have made me a stronger person than I was before and I am thankful for them. I also have God to thank because without him, I wouldn 't have made it through these past four years. He was with me the entire journey, even in the moments where it seemed like he wasn 't. With college I will further my computer career making more successful in the field I enjoy doing. The gateway to a good future is college and that is why I plan on going to college. College is the most important goal of my life. It is the goal that I mostly focused on throughout my entire career. This year is the most important year of my life: it is the turning point of my life. The way I act, what I do, the classes I take. Everything matters. My future is before me and I am not sure if I can walk the road which I plan. As Ralph Waldo Emerson once said "Life is a journey, not a
