I am a person of true values and beliefs with a determination to succeed. Traits and a person’s faith are what make him or her, a true human being. Faith is important to sprout the lively roots of hope and virtue. Hope is what I use to keep persevering through the rugged trials of life. I build my life on certain principles consisting of the elements of how to deal with real life situations. I am a virtuous type of person and I believe in three quotes which will help me succeed in life in the future. "Darkness cannot drive out darkness; only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate; only love can do that." - Martin Luther King, Jr. True spoken words of wisdom allow us to come together and work with each other, rather than against each other. Black, red, white, orange; it never matters about what skin color you are, it’s about what you do as a person through your actions is what matters. I am a caring and compassionate human being and I do not believe in violence, only self-defense. Instead of saying something hurtful, say something kind and treat others the way you want to be treated. Hate only allows more hate to grow like a fermenting fungus that infects the infected. If someone says something nasty or unkind to you, just say a nice comment back. Saying a mean comment will only feed the devilish beast of hate. In order to kill the beast, you must starve the beast with kindness. Love your family and friends, and love your enemies more because they need love the most. Death can only become of hate, life can only become of love. “No one is perfect and everyone is different, but everyone one is beautiful in their own way and that's what makes us special.”-Unknown. This is a very true principle, nobody is perfect. This is why... ... middle of paper ... ...tunate. “Life is a dream for the wise, a game for the fool, a comedy for the rich, a tragedy for the poor.”-Sholom Aleichem. These lessons and traits I have taught myself, have helped me become a better person with a dependable future. Forgive all who wrong you, love your family and friends, but love your enemies more. Treat others the way you want to be treated. Remember that obtaining perfection is impossible in your life on earth and remember that you show who you are through your actions, not what you look like. Be grateful of your current state; you are alive and can change the world and all who inhabit it through your actions and words. Help, give, and pray for the less fortunate. “If you bring forth what is within you, what you bring forth will save you. If you do not bring forth what is within you, what you do not bring forth will destroy you.”-Jesus Christ.
In the short book, Being Perfect by Anna Quindlen, Quindlen shares her wisdom of the term “perfection.” She discusses her personal experience of being “perfect” when she was younger and tries to persuade the readers that being “perfect” is not worth the hardships, but finding and expressing someone’s true personality and character is. Striving for “perfection” can fog people’s mind in acting contrary to their true selves. For example, people begin to expect the ultimate best out of one another and begin to lack the understanding of others. All people should learn to give up the unreachable goal of being flawless because everyone makes mistakes; it is the way in which people handle their mistakes that makes their true personality shine.
“The word perfection cannot be defined into one person or one thing. Perfection can only be told or seen in a first person view. No one will genuinely think something or someone is as perfect as another person, it’s impossible to see eye to eye with something that is as powerful and subjective as perfection.” - Jordan van der neut, 2014
Never take fr granted the time spent with someone, never take for granted the people put in your llife, never take for granted the life you were given because it is not gauranteed. I learned a ton of lessons from my losing my brother but this one has had the biggest impact on me. People become bemused when I explain the whole situation, they really start thinking about everything they have taken for granted. I have to constantly remind myself to not take things for granted. I defiently took my brothers presence for granted. I tought he would always be here for me to chase around but then I lost him in a few short
The lessons are numerous and range from trivial to profound, but there’s one that's had the most impact on my life. Fortunately, I was born into a unconditionally loving family with good health and parents that I feel comfortable talking to under almost any circumstance. Until I got to really know my friends, I was aware that not everybody’s lives were like this but never really understood what a life without those privileges was like. But then my perspective changed when I found out that a couple of my friends have terrible relationships with their parents and suffer from depression and anxiety. Another one of my friends suffers from chronic migraines and has been hospitalized three times in the past year. All of my friends are incredible individuals, and knowing in detail of what they withstand on a daily basis has made me more empathetic to the people around me. I think we all forget sometimes that other people are people, we subconsciously go into this state of mind thinking we’re the center of the whole world. But in actuality, that is not the case; everyone else has their own unique lives and issues they’re dealing with. So what I’ve learned by knowing of my friends’ distinctive stories is just to be more cognizant of others. It's difficult to have that state of mind all the time, but in doing so I have better relationships with
Our world thrives when we have diversity and inclusivity combining different cultures and ideas that shapes and expands our world’s horizons often taking us out of our comfort zones. Cultures can only flourish when its people are open to new ideas and the uniqueness others bring to the table. Hatred stems from ignorance and from which enables an ever expanding cycle of more hatred. It’s time for people to really see and understand those with they choose to ignore, belittle, hate because they choose to remain ignorant. If they truly opened their hearts and minds they would find that we all want the same basic things in life, to provide for our families to the best of our abilities, to be a part of a community where we are valued and to give
The most important thing I have learned is my life is good. I do not go without eating for day. I do not have parents who have abandoned me. Therefore, my life is
I was a bad student in high school. I didn’t study, I got bad grades, I had an attitude, and I disrespected my teachers. I’d like to believe that this was because I was brilliant and existentially bored with the pedestrian intellect of my peers. I’d like to believe that it was because my school was so retrograde and repressive that I was placed into a hopeless situation. But that wasn’t it. I wasn’t especially brilliant; my peers were actually pretty smart; and my school was, all things considered, a reasonably decent place. I’d like to believe it was because nobody in my family had graduated high school, let alone attended a university. But that, too, wasn’t a valid explanation. My parents had always loved and supported me in school. I was just a bad student in high school who never connected to the place.
Who was a Hebrew male, even though her father commanded that all Hebrew boys were to be killed. This is an important thing to learn because even if you do not like a person that much you should still be kind to them. Being kind to everyone is an important lesson to learn. It is important because in life there are going to be people do have do deal with even though you do not always want to. For example, if you have a boss or a coworker that you do not life that does not mean that you cannot work together. You will have to find a way to get along with each other so that you can all get your jobs done. Kindness is also an important lesson for everyone to learn. I believe that God put us all on His earth for a reason. We are all His children and He loves us, therefore we should be kind to
As I grow older, I often think what is my purpose in life. Why am I here? There are many people that have the same characteristics as myself, so what makes me so unique? I am a 21 year old, white, heterosexual, middle-class female that runs cross-country and track and field at a university called Clayton State University. Although I am considered middle-class, I, as an indivudal, am not middle class. My parents’ income makes me middle-class. Being a student-athlete, I would be considered lower class. The characteristics I just shared are everyday characteristics. That by no means, is not what makes me who I am. I am someone who is 4’11” from Illinois. I am scared of changes, but I like to challenge myself. Thus, this is a reason why I chose to go to school in Georgia rather than in Illinois. I hope one day I can share with others the knowledge that I know. I may not know it all, but I can educate others. Every day, I am still figuring what
A philosophy that is established is neither from one belief nor one truth, but it comes from the collaboration of one’s background, experiences, and influences. My personal philosophy of care is deeply rooted from my support system. My grandmother was a nurse and my Mom has been nursing for 23 years. I think it is in my nature to have the desire to help others and join them on their journey to a healthier self.
We need to stop the hate that people think that hispanics do drugs and are rapist. We need to stop the hate that people think that african american people steal. We need to stop the hate that people think that immigrants just come to the U.S because they want to be lazy. So, first of all that is all a lie and don’t believe what people say because they aren’t always true. And what we can all do to stop this is that we can stop the racist jokes and comments. Also we can show people that all those things that people say is a lie. Hate is a bitter winter night, Frost bite creeping through windows biting your toes. In other words all this connects to the peace that the world
I had not modeled in a few years was a bit challenging to start with
Values will determine how you live and are affected by the world around us. They direct our daily life and help us to make choices in a situation when you are not sure what to do. They identify who we are and our beliefs and they molded our way of life. Everyone has his or her personal collection of values. Every person’s value differs from one other. These values are made up by way of one’s life experience, religious beliefs, heritage and family history. Values are the representation of a person’s moral guidelines.
A very harsh and personal experience that I have recently gone through was the fact that I am 18 and in the tenth grade, they held me back for a second time. I thought I was never going to make it..
Spirituality can have many different definitions, depending on who is asked. It can be something as simple as looking for a higher meaning to life, or something so complex that one can base their beliefs, religion and overall life around it. There are several different ways to express one's spirituality; rituals, songs, dances, stories, and writings are all common methods of expression.
