Martin Luther King, jr. once said “I have decided to stick with love. Hate is too great of a burden to bear.” The world isn’t what it used to be. This is one of the things that the world needs now. What the world needs is peace because we have to stop the fighting with each other , to stop the violence in the world, and to stop the hate. First, we need to stop the violence in the world. For example the Ohio state attack and the person who went around hurting people for nothing. There was about eleven people who were injured. We have to stop that it’s not good. Furthermore the violence after the election, it was bad a lot of people were getting hurt. There were riots and protest about who won the election. In addition there was twenty-six …show more content…
We need to stop the hate that people think that hispanics do drugs and are rapist. We need to stop the hate that people think that african american people steal. We need to stop the hate that people think that immigrants just come to the U.S because they want to be lazy. So, first of all that is all a lie and don’t believe what people say because they aren’t always true. And what we can all do to stop this is that we can stop the racist jokes and comments. Also we can show people that all those things that people say is a lie. Hate is a bitter winter night, Frost bite creeping through windows biting your toes. In other words all this connects to the peace that the world …show more content…
For example the isis bombing in france and in other places. About 128 people died because of the attack. Also there was six other attacks that same day. For instance the first World War we fought with many of countries because of the assassination of an archduke. Also the Civil War, we were fighting because of segregation in the world. For instance, in school there are kids that fight because of the problems that they have with other people, and in the neighborhoods there are fighting with neighbors and other people. In other words all this connects to the peace that the world needs. In conclusion, what the world needs is peace. Peace can be thought of as calm weather, a gentle breeze, or still waters. Like Abraham Lincoln said “America will never be destroyed from the outside. If we falter and lose our freedoms, it will be because we destroyed ourselves”. We need to stop the fighting with each other. We need to stop the violence in the world. We need to stop the hate. What we can do to get peace back is that we can stop the racial jokes, comments, and we can stop the violence and fighting with each other. We need to stop all of this to get the peace in the world
Martin Luther King Jr. declared, “Darkness cannot drive out darkness: only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate: only love can do that” ( citation ) . Many people feel as Mr. King did, that love can fight hate, and ultimately love is the answer, the fixer, to this figurative darkness. The word’s love and hate express a strong and perhaps intense feeling for something or someone. However, these intense emotions are commonly used in opposition of each other. It is crucial, though, to note that these powerful emotions can easily cross lines and become blurred. Evidence of this claim is supported by Rempel and Burris’ “...Integrative Theory of Love and Hate,” which outlines what it means to love and what it means to hate, and how humans
In this world today, hate is becoming increasingly more abundant, especially as it concerns race. Whether it be an unarmed black man shot by a white police officer or the use of racial slurs towards someone, it seems like racism is all around us. In the book To Kill A Mockingbird, it shows a little girl named Scout using racial slurs. Racism is so culturally accepted in the town that it’s okay to use racial slurs such as the N-Word that even Atticus, a lawyer representing a black man falsely accused of rape, uses it a couple of times. Earlier this year, the Ku Klux Klan, a group of white supremacists, held a violent rally in Charlottesville, Virginia and proved that racism isn’t a thing of the past. In order to combat racism, groups of like-minded individuals with a common goal of making the world a more accepting place must come together to stand up
World War I was a very deadly war with over 100 million human casualties(deaths plus injured). Therefore war is a very transformative event for humanity, because it always affects individuals, societies, and even the world in a pessimistic way.
The two World Wars and civil wars within a nation already devastate human happiness and peace. In Slaughterhouse-Five also Kurt Vonnegut talks about war and peace. He hates war and every one wants to be free from war. Thousands and thousands of people were died during Second World War. Every year on November 11, the people give their gratitude to the Veterans, who had died in war. “The weekend was extra-long because the coming Monday was a national holiday, Veterans’ Day. It was in honor of people who had served their country in uniform.”
They are many ways to approach a conflict in order to find a resolution. For minimal actions people are often willing to talk about it, but for major actions the solutions to those problems are usually acted out by violence thus, the creation of war. For many centuries countries have been going to war over disagreements. However, it is not any type of disagreements; it is usually about the political beliefs of certain countries. In fact, World War 1 was caused by the disagreements of the European countries in power which were Great Britain, France, Russia, Germany and Austria-Hungary. Some of the countries had a difference of opinion concerning political values on ruling the country. Some were in favour of nationalism, imperialism, or militarism which caused physical conflict and created war. (Duffy) Many soldiers had to go fight to represent their country and make them proud. Many novels have been written to explain to the people how the war had a psychological impact on the soldiers who participated in The Great War, but in the novel All Quiet on the Western Front by Erich Maria Remarque he explains the true depth of war by implicating his knowledge of his days as a German soldier fighting on the western front. Remarque’s awful war experience influenced him to write his novel to show the realistic brutality of war by graphic violence, the emotional impacts on the privates as well as the impact of nationalism by the Germans.
What if a college sponsors an activity, such as an “ugliest woman contest” where boys dress up as girls, and someone in the contest were to dress up as Aunt Jemima? At most public colleges and universities, such a display would be protected by the First Amendment to the Constitution. Wouldn’t it be nice if we didn’t have to worry about people doing such things? Wouldn’t the world be better if people had some common sense and displayed some respect for others by not doing or saying things that would alienate or offend other cultures, races, lifestyles, or sexes? Unfortunately, this is not the case and many public colleges and universities are caught in a balancing act between preserving their students’ First Amendment rights, while also trying to preserve the rights of their students to live and learn in an environment that is free from offensive language or actions.
From the Civil War, to World War I, to the Vietnam War, humankind’s violent tendencies have oft resulted in the loss of an extreme amount of life; the Civil War resulted in an estimated 620,000 deaths, World War I with at least two million, and the Vietnam War with a rough, dastardly amount of 3.1 million. War had - and still has - an effect on everyone whom witnesses its reign of terror.
peace, reduce fear, and provide for a safe environment to the people of the community
In the Twentieth Century, the nations of the world elected leaders who promised that once they governed, they would build a great society based on the equality, peace, for the common good. What we got was a cycle of violence, death, and destruction. The killing continues as we move to the 21st century. One of our most significant concerns we should be worried about is the availability of nuclear weapons. The potential of a real nuclear holocaust is real and looms largely over the human race. It is simply unrealistic to think that humans will not use such power for evil, but could happen. We need to do everything possible to bring peace to our violent world to make our world and our lives a safer, happier, and better place.
The great melting and land of opportunities is unfortunately not perfect, big shocker. Trying to unify different cultures and diverse views are not easy tasks, especially when deep hatreds trigger violence. Achieving groups and individuals across the United States attempt to deal with diversity issues that crop up daily in schools, neighborhoods, families, at work, courts and many other institutions and situations.
The primary factor we've got to try and do to end racism is for us to stand up for our beliefs and also to be proud of our heritages, while respecting the beliefs of others. This is an important part of putting an end to racism because then you are not quiet and are able to stand up for ...
...ut both peace and freedom, here in this Hemisphere and, we hope, around the world.” (John F. Kennedy)
Today we have looked at the problem known as hate crimes and the varied causes which keep it in existence. We have also discussed some solutions to this act of hate.
We have many global problems, but we are lacking global institutions powerful enough to effectively address such problems as global terrorism, human rights abuses, global warming, the ozone layer, pollution of the oceans and rivers, arms trade, child soldiers, war, the weaponization of space, and nuclear and other weapons of mass destruction. Finding a way to participate in solving these and other global problems is one of the great challenges of our time.
World War I, World War II, Vietnam War, Korean War, American Revolution, Civil War, French & Indian War, and so on. These wars all occurred for one main reason, to protect the people and their endowed rights. If brave and courageous warriors did not step on to the battlefield, and sacrifice themselves to their country, who knows what could have happened.
