Personal Essay - My Interest
Something, which I am interested in, is building plastic model kits.
These models are made from manufacturers such as air fix etc. These
models come in parts that are ready to be put together with glue and
painted. These models come in different difficulties, the different
difficulties are numbered one to four. One for the absolute beginner
working to four which is for the more advanced modeling, just now I am
working on models of difficulty level three. These models come in all
different types e.g. Boats, rockets, cars and planes.
I started to model when I was about five, my father helped me at this
point, and I started making planes of difficulty one. By the time I
was about seven I had made about five planes, these were all world war
two fighter planes. From when I was about seven I did not build
anymore models until I was about twelve at this point I started to go
a bit different and build things like boats and other things. I
started modeling big when I moved in to third year in secondary
school. The first thing I built was a simple submarine, which was only
a difficult level one. This only took about a week to build. Then I
moved onto a boat, which was about a difficult level two. This because
I had not modeled in a few years was a bit challenging to start with
and took me about a month to complete. This boat was the 1:20 scale
Smit Rotedamn, This is an offshore tug and icebreaker. This boat I
gave to my grandfather as a gift. I thought that I would try to build
a Ferrari Enzo but this did not turn out that well so it went to waste
and I through it in the bin.
The Smit Roterdamn was quite easy after I got used to the modeling
techniques again e.g. cutting and filling the plastic, melting plastic
to permanently stick something. I also invested into buying a modeling
knife set.
I started with the body. I knocked out the ding and sanded down all of the rust, and replaced the rusted out fenders. It was a lot of hard work, but I didn’t give up. I di...
For as long as I can remember I’ve wanted to be an encouraging influence for others. As a child I was very shy and unsure of myself partly due to my overwhelming fear of others and feelings of inadequacy. Nevertheless deep inside I knew of my true worth but was afraid to show the world who I really was because I may be rejected. Those feelings of rejection kept me from being who I am and sent me down a dark, lonely, and destructive path.
My commitment and motivation to pursue master’s in Marriage and Family Therapy is based on the extensive experiences that I have gained in human services in the past 2 years. Since long I have always held the belief that the application of psychological principles has the power to positively impact society. And I especially believe in its power to help children cope with the stresses and events of everyday life. My own life is a testament to this belief.
I will never give up. I will never allow failure to be an option. I will set goals and I will achieve them. We are obstacles are set in front of us daily. Daily obstacles can range from waking up in the morning when we are overworked to losing a limb or a love done. However, when the outcome is not in my favor I will utilize the situation to find my weaknesses and build a better me for the next battle.
It started when I was young, making paper airplanes with my father and friends. We made a myriad of planes as we each competed to produce the best design. As they evolved, experimentation and creativity were the keys to success. Eventually, I stumbled upon paper cranes. The first few ended in crumpled wads of paper. The folds were unlike any I had done before, and frustration set in after many failed attempts. I began taking suggestions from different people and combining them with my own knowledge and ideas. Soon I could fold a crane in under a minute or even
My earliest memory is creating a little garage for my hot wheels. This garage from a multitude of legos was probably greatest things I made at such an age. Later, I'd reflect on this memory, and how my creation inspired me to continue building my passion. I didn't realize at the moment, but every piece I created was slowly leading me to my passion for creating.
My interest in Psychology began in 2012, when I had the opportunity to research on my own about the subject. After I embarked on an introductory course in Psychology to relieve the boredom of working in a call centre, I then was motivated to continue with my studies. After securing my Higher and HNC in Social Science – I continued with the HND.
I’ve always had a passion for helping others and I love the idea of being considered a dependable person. I enjoy when others come to me to talk about the hardship they are experiencing and being able to provide them with feedback or helpful advice. To do this I learned that you need to have the characteristics of a “people person”. You must be patient, which from my job experience of working in retail and the fast food industry, I would consider myself to be a highly patient person. I also posses the the skill of being outgoing and friendly. I allow myself to be comfortable when speaking with different types of people and I let myself open up so I can personally relate to them. By doing this I believe that others will return the comfort that I created and will want
I began to get fascinated by our capitalist world’s economy at a very early age of my life. Growing up, I was incredibly curious to unravel how systems function, and this curiosity developed into a burning desire to learn how processes and organizations operate and run our world. As I started my first job, I realized how much I needed to be better acquainted with the science of money making and the scientific approaches to money management. Later on in my life, being within a company system, I wanted to see the big picture by learning where such a company stands in the midst of all other business interactions locally and internationally. Being involved in the company’s practices I started analyzing the methods used by my managers, the causes and consequences of their managerial choices.
Passion for Family, Community, Business, Technology and Intellectual growth are what motivate me on the daily basis. These are vital parts that have contributed to framing me into the person I’ve become. They have also shaped my short-term and long-term goals in life. It’s critical for one to have a vision for their life and what they anticipate to accomplish. Without a vision or desire there is no hope for one to continue and to purse anything. My experiences with in my passions have helped me aligned my vision for my life. They have given me the valuable knowledge that have set me up for success to get to this point in life.
It does not matter who you are or how you look like for a story to be true. Many times, our personal interests take us away from the reality of others, from their past, present, and future. Throughout my entire life, I have not had a personal experience of the weight of Fekadu. However, I do have had an experience as William’s one, maybe not as stronger as his, but it has happened.
Each person carries things with them, whether it’s a purse, or a backpack, or a slim wallet slid into their pocket. They may not carry these physical things all of the time, but these staple items are with more than they’re not. The become a part of the person’s identity. They become emotional burdens for the person to bear.
I also adopted my nephew when he was fourteen; he is now 21 years old. I will say that in similarity to Iyanla I am back in school going for my bachelors and trying to follow my passion. I had such a struggle finding out what my passion is. I started to think about all the things I’m good at: cooking , cleaning, and doing hair. All things that I love doing, but they are not my passion. Along with Iyanla I had to choose a job that provided for my family regardless of whether or not it was something that I had a passion for. Just like Iyanla when she was working at the law firm, when I choose to work for 911 making money and having benefits was more important to me. She didn’t follow her passion until three year into the job. I decided to follow my passion after I was asked in this class what my passion is.
A very harsh and personal experience that I have recently gone through was the fact that I am 18 and in the tenth grade, they held me back for a second time. I thought I was never going to make it..
MY EXPERIENCES IN LIFE Throughout my life has been a constant struggle in the pursuit of happiness. It 's nearly a decade now since my dad lost his job. The world seems to be out of reach for I and my nine siblings. The news came at a time while I was in high school, and my siblings were in primary school. My heart was filled with sadness for such unbelievable downfall. I couldn 't concentrate any more on my studies in fear of answering the questions that remained on over what would become of our future? Whenever I recall my classmates talking about taking challenging courses at the university, It still can bring me to tears to this very day. I was like a homeless wanderer. Not only did my studies worry me, but my stepmother 's mistreatment
