Why? The most awkward day of my life started out like any other day. I woke up, ate some cereal, went to school, and read a book. I went through my day unexpecting of what was going to happen. Since my whole family was home, my parents wanted to go to dinner. We went to a little mexican restaurant that smelled of fresh tortillas and peppers. Our waitress was blonde and smiled so hard she almost seemed to be in pain. I was content to just sit there and eat my tacos but then out waitress came back. She was holding a blue folded up paper, but I thought nothing of it. She then said with her too big smile, “ My coworker back there wanted me to tell you that you are just so pretty, he was taken back when he saw you,” my sister gets this
It was the day of April 13, 2000. I woke up at exactly 12 o’clock because my boyfriend was to pick me up at 1 like we planned the night before. The day looked quite nice, but I was in a fowl mood. I got into a car accident the night before and had a huge argument with my parents about the car. I finally dragged myself into the shower and got ready in half an hour. Then I went downstairs, sat on my couch, and repeatedly told myself the day would hopefully turn out better than last night. At around 1:15, my boyfriend came to pick me up. We took the 5 freeway to the 57 since it was the only way I knew how to get there. As we approached the 134 freeway, my girlfriend veered to the right, taking the 210 which was wrong way and got us lost. So, we exited the freeway and got back on the right track. Then finally, before long, we reached Norton Simon.
When I learned that I would have to do my ethnographic report on what I did during Halloween, I was worried because I live in Turnpike and the most excitement that happens in turnpike is the sound of the garbage truck when it comes to pick up the Wednesday trash. Fortunately something did happen to me and I realized I would not have to write a boring paper of how I woke up and just stayed in my room the whole day. Well the day started off with me waking up and walking to the bathroom to take a shower, as soon as the turned the water on I realized I had left my shower and rather than turning off my shower I stayed in because the warmth of the hot water was too seductive for me to get out and get my towel. In the shower I had my usual thoughts about life, death, and comebacks to old arguments. Afterword I got out of my shower and reached for my toothbrush, which was located in a cupboard behind the toilet, but I grabbed at it too quickly and it fell in the toilet. I stood over my toilet for about five minutes just staring at my toothbrush in the toilet not believing what just happened, after that I started blaming myself for being too impatient. When I was done feeling sorry for myself I went into my room in search of another toothbrush but unluckily I couldn’t find one, so I had to go walk to the local store at around 7:30 in search of a toothbrush. While searching for a replacement toothbrush I realized that not that many people were in the store, I had always thought that stores were busiest in the morning and evening but apparently that’s not true. Once I got my new toothbrush I finished brushing, got dressed and went to catch the 11 to the Transit Center.
I woke up Tuesday morning excited for the day I was going to spend with my mom. I was sitting at the kitchen table drinking fresh coffee listening to my mom and aunt tease and joke around about how paranoid my mom was about doing well in her classes, my aunt was telling her that maybe now that I was there, she would relax a little bit and have some fun. Our plan was to go to one of mom's classes with her, and then on a tour of UNC and then we were going to go to dinner and a movie.
It was the last Saturday in December of 1997. My brother, sister, and I were chasing after each other throughout the house. As we were running, our parents told us to come and sit down in the living room. They had to tell us something. So, we all went down stairs wondering what was going on. Once we all got down stairs, the three of us got onto the couch. Then, my mom said, “ Well…”
Now I know what you're thinking that it couldn't be that bad. Ohhhh boy it was horrible. So let me begin with it was a late night and my dad was getting hungry and my mom had just made a thing full of onion dip. He went to the fridge and he found the onion dip and started munching with some potato chips. And at this moment my mom had gone to bed and we were all tucked in and everything well he was still up munching on that onion dip. Well at about 1:00 am I wake up and go get some water. Well as I was walking down the stairs I get a funny taste in my mouth. And at this point i'm drinking my water and then I go to bed again. Well I wake up in the morning and that smell was still there. So I wake into my mom and dad's room and I ask “mom what's that taste?” And my mom said well that's your dad stirring up some nasty farts.” And then I said “Are you kidding me I can taste that mom. That's horrible.” And well then my dad wakes up to get ready to go to work. And he says “What's everyone doing in here?” And my mom says “Because you stunk up the whole house with your butt.” So at this point were behind schedule to get to school. And so we got some febreeze and sprayed it everywhere and headed off to school. So when we all got home we walked in the door and it smells like farts again. So the fart odor overpowered the febreze smell and we didn't know what to do. So we opened
I went to extended care that day as they were running late from the doctor. It seemed as if it was a normal day, but little did I know I would be staring at the television in horror for the rest of the week. It was simply an average day. My mother picked me up from extended care and asked me, “How was school?”, as she usually does.
SWISH! I turn my head to the right with a grin and see my mom cheering as I scored my first points of the season. The last game of the season I scored my first points of my middle school basketball “career.” Now sit back and relax as you read the story of how I got my first points in middle school basketball.
She laughed and said “Thank God you’re not like that!”. Signs of relief were clearly shown on her
I was making my way to the cafeteria for lunch, when my friend Allie grabbed my arm and whisked me out the front doors of the school. My other friend BethAnne and another girl she knows were close on our heels. Allie announced that she was getting us Little Caesar's. Little Caesar's pizza is my favorite kind of pizza and I can usually only buy it occasionally, so I was reasonably excited.
I woke up confused to why I was on the floor because to me it seemed liked I just blinked. Everyone was around me and staring which made my blood rush to my face from the embarrassment from slipping on the ice and passing out. The rest of the day consisted of people constantly asking me if I was okay, which annoyed more than people disturbing you when you are reading a fantastic book. These two unexpected events were one of the most embarrassing in my life.
I get woken up to my mother grabbing my face, patting my arms, and shaking my shoulders to
Last year in 7th grade me and this girl we were in garden club and we all got to take a break and go inside and cool down because it was really hot outside and we were out there for a long time. We are both in there cooling down then another one of our friends came in to cool down to so we're all just talking and cooling off and we were about to go back outside. As soon as we were getting ready to go back outside then she says hey do yall want a snack and she had three pop tarts in her hand so we took one and we were eating it but she didn't eat hers. So we went back outside finishing up what we had to do because we were about to switch to our next class. The teacher calls both of us to her room and asks us if we had taken a pop tart and
The whole day was dedicated on traveling the subway. So, when we got on, we consciously agreed not to sit near Each other. The whole trip so far was amazing. The only down part of it all would be the drunk lady on the subway using her phone as a shoe and her shoe as a phone. After getting off, and purposely getting lost we made it downtown. We started walking as much as we could, then aunt sat leaving her behind we kept going. Somewhere down the road my brother tripped on his on two feet and blaming the sidewalk which was flat without any cracks. The day couldn’t have gone any better than dogs chasing us. We got back on the subway, limping, exhausted, looking like we lost some
Every summer my family takes a trip to somewhere other than my hometown in boring ol’ Oklahoma. This particular year, 2012, we decided to go up north to Wyoming, U.S.A. Before this trip had occurred I had thought that Wyoming was a boring, flat state with nothing to do. When I got there, I realized I had been horribly wrong. It all started how most of our family vacations start, My Aunt Kim and Uncle Toby show up in the rental car (usually it was there personal car but this trip was a bit longer than usual) packed with all of their things. This particular time was early in the morning, about 7 o’clock to be exact, then the process of getting all of all of our things kicks into high gear. My brother Blake and I are frantically trying to get all of our things and our parents things into the car so we
“It’s good to see you,,” said Emily as she hugged Ana back. BEEEEEEEEEEEEEEP, “sorry Emily I have to go to my first class I will see you in third period.” said Ana.,. Emily was a little upset that her best friend wasn't in the same class,, which was going to make her day extra hard.
