On Friday, I had a fun lunchtime with my friends when we got fast food. I was making my way to the cafeteria for lunch, when my friend Allie grabbed my arm and whisked me out the front doors of the school. My other friend BethAnne and another girl she knows were close on our heels. Allie announced that she was getting us Little Caesar's. Little Caesar's pizza is my favorite kind of pizza and I can usually only buy it occasionally, so I was reasonably excited. We ran across the street and got in line. The line went straight out the front doors and nearly into the street. Although it was quite long, the line moved fairly quickly and we received our pizza within 5 minutes. We took it back over to Senior and sat in the grass beside the school.
Mamma Jo’s Pizza should accommodate their employee, Ahmad, and his need due to the fact that he wears his beard specifically for religious reasons. For discrimination based on religion, under Title VII of the Civil Rights Act, Mamma Jo’s Pizza has the duty to “reasonably accommodate” employee’s “sincerely held” religious practices unless doing so would cause undue hardship to Mamma Jo’s business. If wearing a beard is a sincerely held religious practice for Ahmad, then Mamma Jo’s should make reasonable adjustments to the work environment that will allow him to fully practice his religion as long as these adjustments are not more than mere inconvenience. An example of an accommodation that Mamma Jo’s could make is a job reassignment. Mamma Jo’s no beard policy can be argued to be a business necessity for employees dealing with the food, so Ahmad could possibly do other tasks away from the food such as working at the cash register, answering the phone, or other clerical work.
After we relaxed for a long time, it was time for me to go and wash off all of the seaweed my hair had collected. I turn on the shower and there is a huge spider waiting for me just sitting there waiting for me. I killed it and then resumed my shower. After I got out and we were all ready leave we didn’t know where to go. Until my sister saw a commercial for this really cool place with alligators and a Ferris wheel, we decided to go there. As we pulled up to the place we noticed that there was an amazing Ferris wheel and I immediately got really excited. But my parents said that I have to wait until after dinner. So we went and ate our amazing dinner and it was so amazing. I ordered the best lobster and crab, it was so
The next day we had pancakes that the hotel gives for breakfast. That was the best food I have had since the vacation has started. My family and I went to the beach right after that. The water was still cold, so I had to play with the sand. Instead of building a sand castle, I built a set of tunnel and stuff underground. Then, my little brother came and jumped on the tunnels and all of it fell down.
It was a warm April day and all of the students were let out of school for the day. I went home to finish packing with the help of my parents making sure that I had everything and I wasn 't forgetting. I was excited for a week now to go on the trip to Washington D.C. with the whole 8th grade class for a week.
I walked into the house where the "party of the century" was going to be held. I was psyched to be going. At the time I was a little naive freshman invited to my first official high school party at a senior’s house. I was at the party no more than 30 minutes when this boy offered me a drink. Thinking nothing of it, I agreed. He brought back a half-filled cup.
The Cheesecake Factory One of my favorite restaurants to visit is The Cheesecake Factory. The Cheesecake Factory first began in Detroit Michigan in the 1940s (TCF Co. LLC). Evelyn Overton, found a recipe in her local newspaper that would go on to inspire her “original” cheesecake recipe. As her cheesecakes grew in popularity, she and her husband decided to open their own shop, where they sold and supplied cheesecakes to restaurants.
I was sitting in a poorly lit booth at my favorite pizza place. It was not as crowded as usual, because nobody was in town this weekend. A waiter walked by with a cheese pizza that was so hot you could see the thin lines of steam coming up from it. I was hoping he would come to my booth, but instead he walked to the booth next to me. I was so upset because I could hear my stomach grumbling. Actually, I was so hungry I would have eaten a rock! I couldn’t wait for my pizza anymore. Then the waiter came back to my booth with my order. I was so thrilled. I took a slice of pizza off of the pizza platter. “Ouch!” I yelped. It was extremely hot. I waited for it to cool off, but it was really tempting to grab a slice. Finally,
Many restaurants fail during their first year because of lack of planning and I can tell you this from my experienced that we had three years ago with our first Mexican restaurant. What I have learned from that experienced is to write out a plan and be financially prepared. Do as much research as possible on the location. Look into how much traffic there is? Is it a busy area? Is there enough parking? What businesses are near? Also, look into how much I can afford on the rent and for how long do I want the lease to be and be sure to understand all the details on the lease. Another option is to have a lawyer explain the lease, if I do not understand it and if there is any changes that I can negotiate with the landlord to change. Afterwards,
For my internship I worked at Brother Luck Street Eats in Colorado Springs, off of Colorado and 10th street. They are open Tuesday through Sunday from 10am to 10pm. I worked morning shifts mainly because of scheduling conflicts with school and my other job. There were a couple catering events and night events I did work. In the mornings, I would help with prep for the day and working the line. By the end of my internship, Brother, the owner of Brother Luck Street Eats’, was so impressed by my work, he hired me on with his staff.
Opening the refrigerator door, I locate two ingredients: eggs and butter. Grabbing the items, I place them on the island sitting in the middle of my kitchen. Afterwards, I shake and fiddle with my fingers because the frigid butter cooled my hands. I then skip around the island to a low cabinet to find baking powder and vanilla extract. Scanning and searching through all of the spices, I see an abundance of bottles varying in size, shape, and color before finding the desired components.
Once upon a time, I saw the world like I thought everyone should see it, the way I thought the world should be. I saw a place where there were endless trials, where you could try again and again, to do the things that you really meant to do. But it was Jeffy that changed all of that for me. If you break a pencil in half, no matter how much tape you try to put on it, it'll never be the same pencil again. Second chances were always second chances. No matter what you did the next time, the first time would always be there, and you could never erase that. There were so many pencils that I never meant to break, so many things I wish I had never said, wish I had never done. Most of them were small, little things, things that you could try to glue back together, and that would be good enough. Some of them were different though, when you broke the pencil, the lead inside it fell out, and broke too, so that no matter which way you tried to arrange it, they would never fit together and become whole again. Jeff would have thought so too. For he was the one that made me see what the world really was. He made the world into a fairy tale, but only where your happy endings were what you had to make, what you had to become to write the words, happily ever after. But ever since I was three, I remember wishing I knew what the real story was.
The most significant job that I have held in the past was being a waitress in an Chinese restaurant. In the middle of June, I saw they were looking for bus waitress, since I was looking for a job so I asked Ms Ling - the gaffer of the waiters and waitress - to hold the position for me until after my graduation. And a week later as expected I became a?waitress?in the A Hong Hong kong & Vietnamese restaurant.
It was a day of eager anticipation. It was a day of last-minute planning. It was the day before my fourteenth birthday. I had been looking forward to the party for at least two months. Everything was accounted for: balloons, Super Soakers, and music. There would be a barbeque of magnificent proportions. Miraculously, everyone had read the RSVP deadline and called in a week ahead of schedule. An enormous ice cream cake was to be delivered with eight large pepperoni pizzas. Needless to say, I was excited. It was to be my first party at our new house. I helped cook the enormous array of snack foods. I eventually surrendered to the temptation and stole a few strips of marinated steak when my mom wasn't looking. I had gone to bed that night with dreams of family, friends, and possibly a new stereo system.
After we got off the airplane, we rented a car and drove to my Uncle Joe?s house. We finally got there and then we all went out to eat dinner. We went to some Italian restraunt and boy was it good. To this day, I have never tasted anything as good as the Veal Picata I had that day. I ate so much that I could hardly move and once I got back to my uncle?s, I just passed out and went to bed. I had a big and exciting day ahead of me. I was going to Universal Studios and I couldn?t wait.
A girl named Grace had invited all the girls in my class, including me, to a sleepover to celebrate Graces upcoming birthday. I was acquaintances with the girls invited, but I still felt a sense of discomfort because I had only known them for a short time. I felt relieved when I found out a good friend of mine, Ashlynn, whom I had been friends with since Kindergarten, was going to be attending the sleepover as well. The sleepover consisted of a variety of fun
