The Cheesecake Factory One of my favorite restaurants to visit is The Cheesecake Factory. The Cheesecake Factory first began in Detroit Michigan in the 1940s (TCF Co. LLC). Evelyn Overton, found a recipe in her local newspaper that would go on to inspire her “original” cheesecake recipe. As her cheesecakes grew in popularity, she and her husband decided to open their own shop, where they sold and supplied cheesecakes to restaurants. Fast forward to Beverly Hills, California, 1978, where her son would go on to open the first The Cheesecake Factory restaurant (TCF Co. LLC).
Up until 2013 I did not even know what The Cheesecake Factory was. I just thought it was a place where cheesecakes were made. After watching “The Big Bang Theory” I realized it was an actual restaurant and not a factory like the name suggests. After realizing it was a restaurant

I ordered the chicken di pana. Chicken di pana is “Lightly Breaded Sauteed Chicken Breast Served over a White Wine Butter Sauce with Mashed Potatoes and Broccoli” (TCF Co. LLC). It was delicious. The chicken was cooked to perfection, the white wine butter sauce was so delicious I wanted more of it for everything else on my plate. I substituted their ratatouille in place of the broccoli because I am not a huge broccoli fan. I had never had ratatouille before, and I am happy to say I would love to have it again after trying it at The Cheesecake Factory. I love potatoes. They are my favorite food group and I am very picky and judgmental about how they taste. The Cheesecake Factory’s garlic mashed potatoes were incredible. They use red potatoes instead of russet potatoes and leave the skins on. That mixed with the garlic and parsley was just phenomenal. The plating was visually pleasing, but nothing over the top or extravagant. The portions were generous. I had enough left over to take home for lunch the following
Raising canes has a unique and intriguing story. Everything all started with a college student, Todd Graves, and a business assignment. When Todd turned in his business plan, his professor gave him a bad grade. He told Todd there is no way you can have a restaurant who only serves chicken fingers that will never work. Todd took that as a challenge. He started working 24/7. He even went work in Alaska on a dangerous job. When he returned he had enough money to get a loan. He only had enough money to start the first restaurant. Todd and some buddies started renovating and as they was they noticed a mural on the wall of the old building. The mural was the base of Raising canes logo. The first restaurant was a success! During an interview of Todd
Madelyn McQueen - Twin Falls Idaho Have you ever wondered how the delicious, classic treat came to be? Well, any event you can think of after the date of 1938, the cookie was bound to be there. Several stories about how the country’s favorite baked good came to be, have been spread and believed by thousands. For example, Ruth Wakefield unexpectedly ran out of nuts for a regular ice-cream cookie recipe and, in desperation, replaced them with chunks chopped out of a bar of Nestle bittersweet chocolate. Another story is said that the vibrations from an industrial mixer caused chocolate stored on a shelf in the Toll House kitchen to fall into a bowl of cookie dough as it was being mixed. Sadly, all of these stories are false, says Carolyn Wyman in her recently published “Great American Chocolate Chip Cookie Book.” In her book, Wyman offers a more believable version of how the cookie came to be. Wyman argues, that Ruth Wakefield, who had a degree in household arts and a reputation for perfectionism, would not have allowed her restaurant, which was famed for its desserts, to run out of such
There are specials offered at every meal depending on the season and the catch of the day. Chef Vanzile says that he plans the menu around what fresh fish and produce look the best rather than what is trendy. However, there is still a great deal of ambition evidenced in the menu. Some recent specials included Mahi chowder and blackened salmon with Romesco cream as well as more expected fare such as sautéed crab cakes and a shrimp omelet. Fish and chips were the special on St. Patrick’s Day, an Irish themed-meal for diners to enjoy.
Throughout the history of the company, its owners, Ben Cohen and Jerry Greenfield, have interacted with their customers, gaining knowledge on what people like and dislike about their ice cream. Opening their store in Burlington, Vermont in 1978, they immediately began interfacing with the local populace by hosting a free summer movie festival, projecting movies on the wall of their renovated gas station. In 1985, they introduced New York Super Fudge Chunk®, a flavor suggested by a writer from New York City. Throughout the years, they have continued to introduce new flavors either suggested or inspired by either regular individuals or well-known celebrities.
Ben and Jerry's began in 1963 when Ben Cohn and Jerry Greenfield met in a New York middle school gym class. While playing together, neither realized what the future would hold in store and ultimately changed their lives forever. By 1977, Ben and Jerry moved to Burlington, Vermont and enrolled in an ice cream making class at Penn State, which required a tuition fee of only five dollars. After their exceptional performance in the class, the two made a $12,000 initial investment on May 5, 1978 to open their first ice cream shop in Burlington. (1)
McCullough and his son were ready to open for business on June 22, 1940. McCullough thought that his soft serve creation was the closest thing to dairy perfection and therefore he called it Dairy Queen.
“ I opened the first Wendys restaurant because I felt that there should be a place where fresh hamburgers are made just the way the customer wants it.” That is as true today as it was thirty one years ago when Dave Thomas first spoke those words. People put their trust into Wendys everytime that they eat there. Infact Wendys is the only fast food place that offers the Frosty (Wendys Web Page).
The Hershey Company was founded in 1894 by Milton S. Hershey. “He became a confectioner’s apprentice in Lancaster when he was fifteen” (McMahon). Hershey wanted to produce a sweet chocolate coating for his caramels. Milk chocolate candy bars and wafers started being produced in 1900. Hershey was able to lower the price because of mass production. The delicious chocolate became affordable to all. “Milton turned milk chocolate from an expensive luxury to an everyday treat” (McMahon). The company markets its products in approximately seventy countries worldwide. The immediate success of milk chocolate caused Hershey to consider increasing his production facilities. He decided to build a new chocolate factory in his hometown Derry Township, Pennsylvania (Gut...
Ben & Jerry's Homemade, Inc., the Vermont-based manufacturer of ice cream, frozen yoghurt and sorbet, was founded in 1978, with a $12,000 investment ($4,000 of which was borrowed). Another one of the signature dish was the DB burgers. Daniel Boulud revealed that about a dozen years ago he had been tinkering with the idea of a gourmet burger. 8 [http://www.foodrepublic.com/2011/06/07/brief-history-expensive-burger] According to Daniel, “the French were upset they had not invented the burger themselves.” hence it lead to the creation of the DB burgers.

Today I’m going to talk about some fascinating topics about a certain food that’s so beautiful and delicious. I’m going to talk about cheesecake. The reason I’m bringing up this topic is because cheesecake is one of my favorite food and definitely and undoubtedly my favorite dessert of all time.
To be fair, some of these look like legit dinner options. The "Home" meal looks like it's full of everything you could want if you make a meal at your place. It could even be subtracted from because many don't finish and you can toss the leftovers in the fridge. Subway could be good if you subtract all the BS from the healthy parts of the meal (also SUBtracting that whole Jared thing). And then Cheesecake Factory wants you to die. There's no winner
Once upon a time, I saw the world like I thought everyone should see it, the way I thought the world should be. I saw a place where there were endless trials, where you could try again and again, to do the things that you really meant to do. But it was Jeffy that changed all of that for me. If you break a pencil in half, no matter how much tape you try to put on it, it'll never be the same pencil again. Second chances were always second chances. No matter what you did the next time, the first time would always be there, and you could never erase that. There were so many pencils that I never meant to break, so many things I wish I had never said, wish I had never done. Most of them were small, little things, things that you could try to glue back together, and that would be good enough. Some of them were different though, when you broke the pencil, the lead inside it fell out, and broke too, so that no matter which way you tried to arrange it, they would never fit together and become whole again. Jeff would have thought so too. For he was the one that made me see what the world really was. He made the world into a fairy tale, but only where your happy endings were what you had to make, what you had to become to write the words, happily ever after. But ever since I was three, I remember wishing I knew what the real story was.
