I was walking out of the store one day and a masked man ran up yo me and tried to steal my purse. He ran off but I chase him I grabbed back my purse and he fell backwards. Then he stood up and tried to run off again but I caught him then punched him in his face then i told him “i'm calling the police¨
“ Sure you are, just know that if you do something really bad is going to happen to you lady¨ he said then he got up and ran off when I got home, I immediately grabbed the phone and called the police I told them what had happened, they said that they would come to my house and when I hung up I turned around and he was right there in front of my face, he tried to fight me and throw me to the floor, then I took off his mask and I made a terrifying
The sentencing of underage criminals has remained a logistical and moral issue in the world for a very long time. The issue is brought to our perspective in the documentary Making a Murderer and the audio podcast Serial. When trying to overcome this issue, we ask ourselves, “When should juveniles receive life sentences?” or “Should young inmates be housed with adults?” or “Was the Supreme Court right to make it illegal to sentence a minor to death?”. There are multiple answers to these questions, and it’s necessary to either take a moral or logical approach to the problem.
This is the Zodiac speaking. My first murder was on Christmas 1968. I killed two teenagers. My next murder was on July 4, 1969. I killed one girl and injured her boyfriend.
When I learned that I would have to do my ethnographic report on what I did during Halloween, I was worried because I live in Turnpike and the most excitement that happens in turnpike is the sound of the garbage truck when it comes to pick up the Wednesday trash. Fortunately something did happen to me and I realized I would not have to write a boring paper of how I woke up and just stayed in my room the whole day. Well the day started off with me waking up and walking to the bathroom to take a shower, as soon as the turned the water on I realized I had left my shower and rather than turning off my shower I stayed in because the warmth of the hot water was too seductive for me to get out and get my towel. In the shower I had my usual thoughts about life, death, and comebacks to old arguments. Afterword I got out of my shower and reached for my toothbrush, which was located in a cupboard behind the toilet, but I grabbed at it too quickly and it fell in the toilet. I stood over my toilet for about five minutes just staring at my toothbrush in the toilet not believing what just happened, after that I started blaming myself for being too impatient. When I was done feeling sorry for myself I went into my room in search of another toothbrush but unluckily I couldn’t find one, so I had to go walk to the local store at around 7:30 in search of a toothbrush. While searching for a replacement toothbrush I realized that not that many people were in the store, I had always thought that stores were busiest in the morning and evening but apparently that’s not true. Once I got my new toothbrush I finished brushing, got dressed and went to catch the 11 to the Transit Center.
He beat me until I swung back and forth by my wrists, half-crazy with pain, unable to find my footi...
Revenge is an emotion that corrupts the innermost parts of the soul. It is not an emotion that comes and goes, but is a sentiment that is unwavering and perpetual until successfully carried out. Revenge is the hunger that drives someone to inconceivable measures in order to inflict similar pain or suffering to a person who is the center of previous internal sufferings. Although revenge is focused on the original perpetrator, it affects the revenge seeker as well as the victim. The one who seeks revenge is further hurt by the consequences involved with their revenge. Even though revenge may seem to be rewarding, those seeking revenge inadvertently suffer due to their obsession that causes present separation, their insecurity
It was late I thought. Almost midnight yet I was still unable to sleep. I stared thoughtlessly at the moving shadows mumbling to myself, "it was just a story" but in my heart I knew it wasn't, it was more than a story, much, much more. Then, a crow appeared in the middle of my room. The crow stared at me with such intensity that I fell backwards into the safety of my pillow. I stared at the crow in shock as it disappeared into my closet and that's when I heard it, a long piercing whine that was like a nail to a chalkboard. I prayed that it would go away, I prayed with all my heart but it stayed there continuing its long whine. It was then when I caught a glimpse of it. I saw two glowing bloodshot eyes stare at me. I let out a scream born from terror and almost immediately my dad came bursting into my room. He stared at me with confusion but all I could do was point a shaking finger at my closet door. Cautiously, my father marched into the closet door only to find nothing inside. Then, without warning, the closet door slammed shut along with my father still inside.
I reach into my computer bag which I am required to wear over my shoulder and look like a big fat nerd, and pull out the bumper magnet in which I stashed in there. This was premeditated, my plan was to slap the bumper magnet on the back of the bus as i walked behind it on a brisk spring morning. And it all went as planned I walked out of the bus door and spanked the magnet right onto the ass of the big nasty yellow school bus. I do not remember what I did for the rest of the day, I know I went to gym
I was asleep in the middle of the night when I herd a sound coming from outside of my house I woke up and I ran to my brother's room, he was sleeping in the bed with his girlfriend, I woke him up and said that I had herd a sounds outside the door, he said: "be quiet, do not make a sound", I did as he said and then I saw that he took a gun out from the madras, then he walked to the door and started to listen to the door then he saw out of the window and saw three guys one was in a car and two that was robbing his car, he was so mad that he kicked down the door and started shooting, he got one of them then he started to shoot at the car, he didn't hit the one inside but he did hit the other guy that was running away, he dragged him to the sidewalk and said: "open your mouth and put it on the curve", he did as my brother told him to do, the man was shaking by fear, then my brother started to scream and started kicking his head, he kicked his head so hard that he broke his neck and jaw, the man died instantly, then my brother saw the police and he just starred at me, he started walking towards the cops, they said: "don't move, put your hands behind your head and get down on your knees", my brother did as they said, he was thrown in jail for two years
I’m 10 years old, but don’t ask about my parents their dead. They both died when i was 8. I live on Maryland St. by the sewer gates and feast on whatever things drift along. I joined a big group of pick-pockets and we make actually a decent amount of money every now and then. One day i was with my friend Zachary and we were scavenging for food when I saw a middle aged women drop her purse and not notice that she even dropped it. I ran over and grabbed it debating if i should take it or give it back to her, I started running toward her when i got close enough I reached out and grabbed her shoulder. She whipped back and grabbed my hand then I said “Sorry mam for startling you, but you dropped this”. Holding it out
I have learned a substantial amount from the material we have gone over thus far. I didn't really realize how deep the death penalty was and how far it went back. Also I didn't realize that some things that we associate with the death penalty today derived from earlier periods of time, and that the way people think just shows how history repeats itself. What I thought was interesting was that I thought executions didn't start until after the pilgrims and all that I didn't know it went back further than that. I knew that in the earlier times that they lived in a system of theocracy and that not believing in god was punishable and strict laws like that. But its amazing how they had all the other absurd laws they had such as bestiality, and how even today the ridiculous nonhomicidal crimes legislators want to introduce back into the system to be punishable by death. Also what I found interesting was the issue on public hangings, how it was a big party so to speak and all this went on decades ago right here in Amherst. Also it was interesting to learn that young black males commit a big proportion of criminal homicide. I always figured that men committed more criminal homicide then women and that probably a substantial amount would turn out to be African American, because that’s all I really hear in the media. I just wasn’t aware that it was at such young ages that the crimes were being committed. Also what I had absolutely no idea about was the fact that whether your black or white that the substantial amount of executions that have taken place is ones in which the victims were white, and that the racial lines in homicide aren't crossed often. Its kind of sad that more
My daughter was taking math tutoring class, so I arrived in the place a little bit earlier to pick her up. I was in my car distracted, texting a friend of mine and out of the sudden, Jordan, my ex, jump in my car in the passenger side and began to yell at me saying that I did not want to be with him anymore because I was dating another guy, which was not true. So nicely, I told him that I was not dating anybody, and he kept insisting that I was and if I was not going to be his girl, I could not be with nobody else. Furthermore, he also screamed that he was going to send me hell. Out the sudden he grabbed my neck with one hand and my hands with another hand and started to choke me. I do not remember how long it took, but I know that in matter of seconds, I had lost conscious and everything black out, and I felt so in peace like I had not felt before, but it did not last longer. Probably few minutes later I woke up and I had no idea where I was or what was going on, and I saw him next to me. Very ironically he said, You did not die yet? So, he began to choke me again, saying that this time I would not survive and I was going to be with Devil soon. I have not idea from where or how I became strong and I had the strength to fight with him and save my life. Therefore, I could get out of my car and as soon as I got out, there were ambulances and police everywhere. After this scared episode, my life has changed. I began to have bouts of nightmare every night, when I was waking in the parking lot by myself, I always had the sensation that somebody was behind me, chasing me, and was going to attack me. I have became paranoid and afraid from everybody. For many years because of this traumatic situation, I had to go for
I had just moved to the little town of Plain City. That day was too frosty to be outside so my younger sister Sydne and I decided to finish unpacking all of the millions of boxes filled with toys, in our basement.
I punched him as hard as my younger body could, and by pure chance I hit him right in his no-no square. He ran crying into the other room and I panicked. I ran outside and hid under my mom’s minivan. Someone came running out after me, they yelled my name dozens of times into the darkness. Soon others flooded through the doors, I could hear their muffled plans on how to find me. At that point I was afraid my parents would be mad at me for hiding from them and embarrassing them. About 15 mins have gone by since the punch occurred, I hid for 3 hours, we’re just getting started. At about 30 mins I heard the first sirens, now I was super scared, I knew that my parents were going to kill me for multiple reasons now. I knew I had to stick it out now and figure things out later, at this point an hour has gone by and I can hear my mom crying, talking to police officers, describing what I look like. Now before we get any further, I want to point out the fact that I can exaggerate the rest of this story but the truth is I fell asleep. I was six and it was about 12:30 am, which is like 2 full days for a teenager. The first time, some time later, It was my dog licking my face under the car, after that things get
I heard voices behind me that I soon recognized as my brothers. I turn around to see them both carrying a cooler full of turkey and they both have two turkeys on their shoulders. Honestly seeing that made me want to cry because of all the anger built up inside me, but I sucked it up like a man and said “we need to go to another spot before we leave” and they looked at me funny like I was joking I said “you guys are loaded with turkey and I still have yet to shoot one so we’re not leaving till I got one.” Little did they know I had the keys to the truck, see they let me drive them to Richloam because I just got my permit and I just left the keys in my pocket. They both agreed with me on the subject so we stayed out. Bubba said that he knew of one more spot down the road its guaranteed a turkey, we started walking we walked for what felt like an hour I didn’t want to leave empty handed I came too far to do so. We get there and we put our Ghillie masks on and we sit down and we called them for about thirty
Before I knew it, we were peeling out of the garage driving down my street doing 40 when the speed limit was 25. W stopped at the first set of lights and just sat there staring at the car in front of us. When I looked at him I realized that the police chief Wiggam was trying to tell me to get out of the car. I looked in front of me again and as soon as the light turned green I pushed the gas pedal to the floor and sped through the intersection running over a curb and driving straight into the park! We ran over a fence and some kid’s bike, right as I pushed down on the break, I ran over a teeter-totter and broke one half of it. Me and Johnny looked up just in time to see Johnny’s little sister go flying off of the teeter-totter and into a bunch of pine trees.
