“Another” school. How many of you like to travel? Do you travel alone or with group of people? How about go to another country alone? Could you ever imagine to take a plane and fly away somewhere by yourself? Some people get freaked out just mentioning this. They start thinking about all this horror stories of kidnapping, robbery, cheating. However, there is no guarantee that it is not going to happen if you are with your friend. Couple years ago I was no different from those people thinking that way. I didn’t know other life other than New York City. It was the whole United States for me. Of course I have met people from other states, telling me that Real America is outside of New York. I nodded in response, thinking that may be one day …show more content…
I didn’t plan that trip. I just found the cheapest ticket on web site and bought it. I was so excited and scared in the same time. Upon arriving to Fort Lauderdale I found all necessary information on the internet. I spent in Florida five unforgettable days. I was staying in the hostel, couple blocks away from the beautiful beach. I expected that it was going to be a small dark room filled with bunch of people and two level beds. However, it was clean spacious place with four beds, where two of them were occupied by girls from Poland. There I also met other people from different countries who have been traveling alone as well as I. We became friends on the first day. Next day we decided to rent a car and went to explore south of Florida. That was my first experience traveling alone and it motivated me to further travels. For the first time experienced the joys and burdens of independent travel, you will discover the skills, which may not previously suspected. You will bring up the sense of responsibility, you will learn to be alone with yourself and enjoy it. By today I visited fifteen states by myself, including East Coast, West Coast, Alaska, Peru, Germany, Russia, Korea, Middle Asia (such as Kazakhstan, and Kyrgyzstan). For the first time experienced the joys and burdens of independent travel, you will discover the skills, which may not previously suspected. Traveling alone gives you great experience to explore not only another culture, but also explore yourself, find a lot of new friends and get unforgettable experience in your
Could you imagine traveling the United States in just your specially made camper and the only company you have is your pet? John Steinbeck, the author of "Travels with Charley" wrote about his 1960's road trip about visiting multiple states. "What are Americans like today?"; that was the question that started his journey. His travels began in Long Island, New York, then he followed the outer border of the United States; from Maine to the Northwest. After he traveled to the Pacific Northwest, he went to Salinas Valley in California then across Texas, and through the Deep South. Finally after that 10,000 mile journey, he made is back safe and sound to New York. This rough and long trip included: meeting new people, exploring, and visiting different states.
The thought of traveling sounds so fun, interesting and spontaneous. The two places I hope to travel to the most are Puerto Rico and Germany. I would like to travel to Puerto Rico because I would love to learn more about the place I was descended from. My reasoning for wanting to travel to Germany is because it’s outside the U.S. I have never been to another country, and I’m curious to see how different it is from here. I also picked two places that are very different from each other, so I could have a total different experience on each trip. These two places have some similarities, but they are more different then not. Overall, I would just love to explore and see a place that is so different from the customs, traditions,
Throughout history, traveling both domestically and internationally has been a major aspect of American life. Whether traveling for work, vacation, or even just leisure, Americans have always been on the move. Although, from Arthur C. Brooks article, “How to Get Americans Moving Again,” it is evident that times are changing. In “How to Get Americans Moving Again,” Brooks portrays an America that has had an immense percentage decrease in the amount of Americans that domestically move between states. This decrease is due to a traveling environment that has left a vast amount of fear and uncertainty in the hearts of travelers, which has caused them to stay home. Considering the current circumstances that Americans are traveling in, which includes
“The American Dream is that dream of land in which should be better and richer and fuller for everyone, with opportunity for each according to ability or achievement,” (Adams,“The Epic American Dream”, 1931, pg 214). Reading this I had to translate this quote for myself. I got that the American dream is that every American citizen can be successful and prosper in this great nation if he/she puts in the hard work, possesses determination, and the required skill. Such ideal, I think carries a lot of weight and promise to those who take advantage of the opportunity. However this dream is slowing dying.
He who does travel, does not know the value of men. Traveling is one of the most important things someone can achieve. If someone never travels they’ll never know the full extent of human accomplishments because they won't be there to admire the food, buildings, nature, animals, climate, people, and just everyday life in other cultures.
Overall going on a vacation is something I want to do more in the future. I learned many things from this vacation such as even though you go with some people you don't know as well, you get to know them and by the end of the vacation it's like you have known them your whole life. This vacation brought my friend Lisa and I closer because we experienced things together. Going on a vacation with someone makes your relationship stronger and you find out many different likes and dislikes about each other.
I am not known for traveling but my family and I go camping every summer. We like to go different places each summer. For example last year my family and I went to a campground
It is well known that travelling is a beneficial activity for people as it helps to open our minds, learn what characterizes and differentiates one country, culture or civilization from another but, more importantly, it leads people to a development of a brand-new and more mature conception of the world as well as a new outlook on life.
Getting prepared and ready to explore something new is just minor compared to the actual adventure for a senior anticipating the departure of their school trip. I was a member along with 30 other classmates of the co-curricular group called Business Professionals of America, a club organized through our school. Our teachers, club officers, and all of the members had been planning and fundraising for our trip to New York City for months. The excitement grew more and more as each day got closer to take off. All of us were anixious to see The Empire State Building, "Ground Zero," a Broadway play, and the spectacular views of gorgeous ocean sunsets. We had all been told and were aware of the different surroundings of the environment, or culture we would be experiencing when we arrived. Different cultures are common throughout the world, even in different places around the United States. Going on a trip to explore New York City really made the differences in cultures aware to me.
Just like other people, I have my own American Dreams too. We all have different dreams, some have bigger dreams, some have smaller dreams but we all have the same goal which is to achieve our dreams. I have three American Dreams that I’d like to achieve in the future. First is to go to college, play professional soccer and have happy family. I will do anything to achieve these dreams.
“Put that back”, my mother said as she scorned me for grabbing a pack of gum. “We can not afford that right now” she told me. I thought to myself, “Well why not? It’s only a dollar”. Ever since that day I have lived to know how important money was to get through life. The ideal American Dream is to be stable in life, money, and happiness. Many people live off the thought of an American Dream, but is that still true today? They spend their every waking moment working towards their American Dream, but why should they do that if it’s not attainable. I will tell you why, because It is a lie. Americans are constantly being bombarded with lies about how to be successful in life just to give them hope. A hope where everything is going to be alright and a hope with no worries. That is not reality, in the real world no family or person is ever “perfect” like you see on TV or plastered on billboards.
The American Dream means for me to have more opportunities, have a better education, have free expression, get a right equality, and work hard for a better life and a better economy. Furthermore, it means that I can make true my goals, and be successful. After my graduation, I want to work in a veterinary for some time, and get a lot experience because I wish to have my own business. Also, my dream is to save money to buy a house in United States and if is possible, I will get married in my 30’s. However, my social class status has had the middle social class, but it’s not contributed in a 100 percent in my dreams. I can say that it contributed in some of my dreams. For example, the middle class has helped to me that I still can continue with
I love traveling! In my whole life, I’ve been to so many countries so many times! When I was one years old, on my way to India, my sister, my parents and I stopped at my cousin's house in Dubai. Three years later(when I was 4 years old), we all went back to India on vacation. When I was 6 years old we went to India a third time but stopped my my Uncles in London. Then, at age 8 I went to India for the fourth time, and then went to Saudi Arabia to visit more family.
I’ve always travelled. Beginning from when I was six years old, I’ve gone to at least one trip a year, whether it be just to my uncles in the states or a trip to Australia through winter. In 2017 I took a road trip through BC down to Portland, and back through Montana, to Maryland, Ontario, Las Vegas, Bangladesh and Australia, all within the year. Despite going to all these unfamiliar places, I would say staying in one’s home for too long feels stranger. I’m always going somewhere, always moving. Curiously, of all the new and exciting places I visited last year, my trip to Ontario, a place I lived for many years, made one of the most lasting impression.
There is nothing quite like traveling, going someplace new and finding out more about the world and yourself. Anyone can become a traveler it just takes a little bit of faith and courage. Traveling across the world or even across the country is a learning experience. When you are a traveler you see how people live and how different cultures work. It is the best educational experience you could give yourself. You see how the world works in a way no one can teach you. Seeing different cultures and people help build the person you want to be. If you are a traveler the world influences you, because when traveling, you see the good and the bad, and you learn from the right and the wrong. I am very lucky that I am able to be a traveler and see this
