This summer I decided to do Eastside volleyball club with Kelsey, Sophie, and Emily. My team decided to go to Wisconsin Dells for a volleyball tournament. We all stayed at a hotel with a great water park in it called Chula Vista, which isn't that popular but it was fun. Chula Vista was fun because they had many fun and big slides that I did with my team. Everyone also got to play volleyball in a big dome. I'm pretty sure everyone on our team had fun. The first night, I got there at about 6:00, because we got lost on the way there. We had dinner then unpacked our bags into our room. We didn't go to the water park that night because it was too late. The next morning we went to the indoor water park and it was fun. There was an outdoor and indoor water park and they were both great, but I liked the indoor one better. The indoor water park had a mini drop slide, a toilet bowl slide, a few body slides, an electronic slide, and many tube slides that were all fun. I did all the slides. They were all interesting and different It was loud and humid in there, but I was OK with it. We stayed there till about 2:30, then went back to the hotel to get ready for volleyball. …show more content…
We went to drive to volleyball and we couldn't figure out how to get there.
When we finally got there it took us a while to get in so we were about 20 minutes late. Finally we got there. It was a huge white dome with 20 courts and it was loud in there. It had many fans inside of it to keep it aired up. We lost our first two games and won our third. We got home at about 7:30. Then I went to sleep in Kelsey's hotel room, who just got back from her vacation in another spot in Wisconsin because it was too crowded in the other
one. We had to wake up early the next day because we had volleyball at nine. Since we lost the first two games we got placed into the silver bracket, but we won it. After volleyball we went to the outdoor waterpark which had a mat slide, a drop slide, a roller coaster slide and many body slides. We had to go home after volleyball. I went home with the Todd's, because the other car was too crowded. Our team had a fun time in Wisconsin and I liked it a lot and I hope I get to go back next year. I'm glad I got to go on this trip, because I was almost not allowed to go since my brother was just born. I had a lot of fun with my teammates. I also got to know them better because I stayed with them almost the whole time and some of the time we just played games in the hotel room.
Great Wolf Lodge is a great place to take a vacation, but this can be a really expensive trip. They are located all over the United States, but so far, we have only been to the one in Grapevine, Texas and the one in Kansas City, Missouri. We have been several times and from those trips, we have been able to pick up on a few ways to save money. If you want to go, but feel like it is out of your budget there are ways that you can make it work. Use these tips to help you out if you are going to try to take a trip to Great Wolf Lodge on a budget.
Wisconsin Dells was better than Six Flags because my family stayed longer. We were in Wisconsin Dells for four days, but we were only at Six Flags for two days. Because we were in the Dells longer, my family was able to create more memories. Six Flags may have had more attractions inside the park itself, but I felt rushed and did not enjoy my time there as much. The length of time my family spent in Wisconsin also gave us the ability to experience the numerous attractions found outside of the park.
I have never waited so long in my life, it took and hour and a half just to get three bags out to where the pickup was. We finally got our bags and took a shuttle to the Crown Paradise Hotel. This Hotel was so nice. It had a mini golf course, three pools(1 inside,2 outside), A basketball court, a movie theatre, etc. My hotel room was also super nice there were too connecting rooms so finally for once I got my own bed. The first day I did the most common and went to the beach. The sand was super hot and I’m not too fond of salt water, it just makes swimming in the ocean ten times worse. Then at night I played ping pong and pool against my dad. Then the rest of the week I would go swim in the outside pool or play futsal(soccer on pavement). I always came back with at least one blister on my foot. The worst thing about this trip was the sunburn, in cancun it's way hotter and it's so easy too get burned. This also made it hard because, since the water is so bad whenever I wanted water I would have to walk all the way to the elevator and then all the way down this long hallway to the gift shop and would buy a water bottle then go all the way back to my room. The food although was super good besides there breakfast and ketchup. The last day was the hardest it took so long trying to get on the plane and the car ride was so boring. But that’s my favorite
Because of some of the circumstances that make me who I am, it is hard to say I have any one definitive home. Instead, I have had two true homes, ever since I was a young child. What makes this even more of a conundrum is that my homes have always had little in common, even though they are only a few hundred miles apart. Between the big city of Houston, Texas, and the small town of Burns Flat, Oklahoma, I have grown up in two very different towns that relate to one another only in the sense that they have both raised me.
Jack arrived in a town called Elk Lake which was devoid of Elks and Lakes. In fact, the closest thing to a lake it had were the puddles forming in the cracked car-worn streets. There was no forest which meant no elk. The only foliage in sight were dead bushes, meaning that there was nothing to suck in the pollution. Most of the stores had a forlorn look about them as if uttering a sad sigh.
My first day there was amazing because I found out that the next day I would go see ancient Aztec pyramids, so I would definitely need to rest up for the big day. The next day came and I couldn't wait to go see the ancient pyramids. I got there in a big touristy type bus and it was packed to the brim full of people which wasn't very comfortable, however we got through it.When I got there people were trying to sell my family and I weird wooden carvings, but we said no.Then we saw it the ancient pyramids
It was breezy day. The clear, light sky was breathtaking. Almost too gorgeous to foreshadow the disastrous day. It was on a tennis tournament on Saturday morning. I had confidence in my own abilities on that tennis court. As if I was Serena Williams ,the greatest tennis player of this century, and would win the whole tournament. I thought about my strengths and not my weaknesses on the bus ride to the tournament. Like my unpredictable serve, backhand strokes and killer volleys (that end points in an instant).
We got to do an obstacle course. We also had a water slide and snow cones. My favorite part about last years was the dodge ball tournament. For this year I am hoping we can get two water slides. It was fun with one, but it would be even better with two.
It was my sophomore year of high school and just like every Saturday, my family and I gathered around the T.V. to watch the LSU football game, so my dad could cheer on his Tigers while I was there for the band and the fantastic football food. That particular Saturday, LSU faced the Wisconsin Badgers, which according to my dad was going to just be a complete blowout and would result in another win for his beloved Tigers. As the game progressed, my dad blew a gasket since his team was losing to the underdogs at halftime, nevertheless, I tried to tune him out as the band marched onto the field for their show. I often preferred DCI shows rather than college bands, yet I was absolutely mesmerized by the Badgers clean technique and upbeat music that
Sylvia Plath's Bell Jar is a bildungsroman novel set in New York and Boston. The Bell Jar is a novel which presents feminism, mental illness, sexual double standards and the quest for identity. The Bell Jar itself is an isolated, cold, unbreakable glass and with this Plath is able to portray her mental suffocation and the social criticisms during the 1950’s. The Bell Jar represents Esther’s “madness” but also the madness of all women who are made of unrealistic ideas so are therefore trapped under the “bell jar”.The bildungsroman novel allows the reader to follow Plath’s emotional and psychological growth. Esther is isolated; she was “supposed to be having the time of her life”, “she was supposed to be the envy of thousands” yet she is miserable and is forced to conform to society rules. E. Miller Budick writes that Esther has an urge to establish social norms. In the Bell Jar the protagonist is finding her actual self by
I had only been once before, but it was forever ago, and I was excited about going. It did not take too long to get there at all. When we arrived we went and got a bite to eat, and then we bought our tickets. We bought two set of tickets for Sara and me, one to go to Kiddy Land with my niece while my sister and her boyfriend go to the big park and then one for later that night for us to go to the other park after we watch my niece. After a few hours of being there, they had not come and got my niece yet and I ended not getting to go to the big park that is night because they forgot all about me.
Halfway through kindergarten were you traveling across the country? Well, I was. I was five years old and lived in Oregon. One day my mom said, “Pack your luggage.” A couple months later my mom, dad, sister, brother, and I took a four-day road trip to Wisconsin.
“Up North. It’s the place people go to escape, a place made of cabins, pine trees, and lakes. But no matter how far you drive, there’s no sign to say “you’ve arrived” so just follow your heart till you find… your special place that brings peace of mind. As you breathe in the air and unwind… your cares are all left behind. It’s no mystery where the northwoods start when you arrive up north, you’ll know in your heart.” -Suzanne Kindler. Coming from a fifth generation Wisconsinite, I have never seen a quote more true. When I think of where I was born and raised in Mauston, WI, I think of peaceful, sunny afternoons hanging out in the backyard or trail riding through the forest with my horse. It’s beautiful, most afternoons
We had lots of fun events, we had a pajama party, and a dance party. Me and my friend had a blast and I will never forget those
Have you ever been to Chicago? Did you go for a trip, to visit family or even just passing through? Well I’ve been to Chicago on multiple occasions but never have I experienced anything like I did this trip.
