Derby Day 2018
Derby Day is one of my favorite things that go on during the year. It is pretty much a free day. We never have to do work. I want this year’s Derby Day to be a lot like last years. Last years was a lot of fun.
We got to do an obstacle course. We also had a water slide and snow cones. My favorite part about last years was the dodge ball tournament. For this year I am hoping we can get two water slides. It was fun with one, but it would be even better with two.
I also hope we can have our games more organized and fair. Last year when we played kickball it was not played fairly. The volleyball game was not either. I hope this year we can play kickball the way it is supposed to be played. I also hope the volleyball teams are

Yes, everyone loves a winning team but athletic programs have been steered away from the promotion of helping young people learn discipline, self-accountability, teamwork and rewards and are now about promoting a winning score, big network deals to funnel money into the pockets of school
As a sophomore it will be my eleventh year playing soccer. I am excited to keep learning and trying new things and to make new friends as well. Last year I was the only freshman on the team and it felt as though I was trying to play catch up. This year I want to encourage the new freshmen and help them rise to the best of their abilities while I rise to mine.

Let’s face it, James Taylor was wrong. Sunday morning ain’t easy; it’s for the faithful. Churchgoers go to church, political junkies swerve between the Sunday shows, and pro-football fanatics tailgate or dabble in unregulated activity. All told, a pretty sizable swath of America seems decidedly busy on Sunday mornings.
The Oxford English Dictionary defines satire as the use of humour, irony, exaggeration, or ridicule to expose and criticize people's stupidity or vices, particularly in the context of contemporary politics and other topical issues.
Soccer has always been my passion. I started to play when I was in second grade. I have played continuously and am now a captain of the Suttons Bay Lady Norsemen. We are a high school cooperative team consisting of players from Suttons Bay, Leland and Northport. This is our fourth year of existence and we worked hard to establish our team and its killer reputation. The part that I am most proud of is that I was among a group of girls that helped convince the Suttons Bay School Board that our high school should establish a girls' high school team. We asked to be put on the board's agenda and prepared a persuasive presentation outlining the reasons that girls at Suttons Bay High School deserved their own team. We knew that money was not available to fund the team, so we promised to find it ourselves. The Board approved our team in the spring of 1997. Our team members and parents spent long hours in fundraising to pay for our uniforms, equipment, transportation, referees and coaches.
Thankfully, I learned about Wrestling which allows you to participate against other students that are similar in weight. This allowed me to earn a varsity letter in both my freshman and sophomore year and my parents bought me a letter jacket for this accomplishment which I wear with great pride. Other activities I generally enjoy are skiing since I love winter sports. During the winter, I would go to Mt. Holly with my friends and ski down the mountains. This year, I look forward to doing both wrestling and skiing to enjoy myself and have
This time we went down to Lincoln with a different attitude and with a little bit of swagger. Being from Norfolk, our teams never have players that can jump the highest or run the fastest but the one thing that Norfolk teams always seem to have is passion. I can guarantee that our team and community wanted that state championship more than any other team in the entire state of Nebraska. I am so proud of our team. We learned from our past state experiences and were finally able to come out on top. That previous three years taught us to take it one game at a time and that is exactly what we did in the 2017 state tournament. We trusted in each other and there was never a doubt in any of our minds that we were not the best team in the state. We just had to go out and prove it once and for
In the United States, there are certain inalienable rights granted to all. As the Declaration of Independence of the original thirteen colonies states, "among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness."(Jefferson, 1787, Declaration of Ind., Pg. 1) These rights are not "special rights." While the U.S. government cannot hold back upon these rights, it does have the power to ratify and enforce laws that will enable or restrict its citizens' use of them.
The rest of year went great with a party at the end of the year to celebrate 2nd Grade. As well,I got to keep 2 things and they were: a green binder and a book called The Legacy of the Puppy. I will never ever forget 2nd Grade and the fun year that I had with my class and my awesome
When I was asked by my mother what I wanted to do for my 15th birthday the first thing that popped into my head was roller coasters. This idea has been in my head ever since I heard one of my best friends talking about how she was tired of going to a 15's dinner or event. So I got to thinking about what would be enjoyable for me and my 3 best friends. Then the idea hits roller coasters. I rode one of my first roller coasters in school with my 3 best friends. Whenever there was a carnival in town and they had a cool roller coaster, we would all go together on it. It was one of our few traditions that stuck. So now I had to choose the where. We actually had all went to Disney world about a year ago, and one of my best friends, Alex, hated it. So
