Dear kara I am writing you from a place at the very top of the mitten also known as Michigan, this is a very busy well toured beautiful place called Mackinaw Island. There is so much to do and I did not know were to start! I have taken so magnificent pictures that i cannot wait to share with you. It is a lot different from home. I think you would like it, maybe you can come here one day. My adventure started with getting on this huge boat as big as a cruise ship. One by one of all these hundreds of people waiting to load. after finding my seat by the widow I look out and miles and miles of light blue water. The waves are moving fiercely, The Boat started it engine and went plowing through the waves. It rocked and …show more content…
I came across my first fudge shop and ohhhh did it smell good i walked in and on just seen tons of fudge of a hundred different flavors in a row and a older like guy making the gooey chocolate that soon will be yummy fudge. I took a few taste test which was my favorite part and went on my way to see the other fudge shop. My next adventure was going to the other shops that had a bunch of t-shirts, pants, sweatshirts and millions of other things that say mackinaw Island on them.. From just plain to different colors there was so many choices, i could not just choose one so I ended up getting a long sleeve shirt that was black and had Mackinaw Island written in bright pink and a sweat shirt that was charcoal gray and teal lettering. After a few hours of exploring the boat was departing from the island back over to the city. I handed the guy my ticket and took my seat. after waiting ten minutes for everyone to load and take there seats the boat went tut tut and started it way back to the dock. Thank god the waves were a lot smaller then they were on the way there. It was a very fun time on the Island i would love to go back again. Maybe one day we could go together, and adventure the beautiful island

I came home smelling of pine trees and campfires. I made so many memories and had so many new experiences in just a brief visit. It was unlike any camping experience I had been through before. In a way, it was life changing. I’m looking forward to exploring more of the Boundary Waters with others, and I hope to give them the same kind of experience I
It was the last day of school, my friends and I all planned to go to Kings Island the next day. There is a big problem, the thing is I don’t ride rollercoasters and I’m terrified to get on one, I tried to act excited when my buddies kept talking about it but it was just hard because I’d be the boring one not getting on any of the rides. I knew that this trip was going either make me conquer my fears or become more scared of them.
Temporarily Closed, that’s all I needed to hear from my mom to learn that we weren't going to Mackinac Island. The Arnold Ferry Service, our usual ferry line to get to the island, were closed after the owner backed out on the company while taking the money he got for himself by making unnecessary budget and worker cuts. There was another ferry line that my family had NEVER taken the 17 years going to the island, so we decided to give it a shot. I was bummed but the worst of my problems were yet to come.
This was the second ride we were going on, and I could feel my nerves leaving me. I could smell the chlorine as we edge closer and closer to the ride. I turned and looked at my brother, Jacob, as he is the only one in our small group of four to have ever been to White Water. He assured is that the ride would be worth the line that we were currently standing in.
Outside, I lay on a picnic table and look up at the blue sky at my campsite and wait for my friends to pick me up. I text them on my stupid LG asking where they are. Noah texted me back, “We are on our way”. So I go back inside my camper to see if I got everything, and I thought I got everything. Then I hear a car pull up and I grab my phone and bag and went outside.I got in their car and Noah’s mom greeted me. Then we took off to Lake Michigan!
The man (Buddy) explained the rules to us about what to do and what not to do on the boat, and up in the air. We were required to take off our shoes and put any loose items that could fall in the water under our seats. Eventually the boat stopped in the middle of the ocean and Buddy gave the first two passengers, gear to attach them to the parachute that would be going up. Viewing the man and his son go up into the air strikingly smooth helped me relax a little, I thought we were going to just fly up rugged and it would feel like we're on a roller
We have started our long journey to North America. It shouldn’t be that much farther according to John Smith, our leader. Our journeys purpose is to start a new English colony in North America. While in North America we have also been instructed to find some gold and silver. This trip has been long and exhausting, I can’t wait to reach our destination and catch up on as much sleep as possible. One of my main fears is to come across some natives that might be a friendly as we think. No telling what could happen to us and our people.
In less than a month we will have Christmas break. On Christmas evening we will be going to Florida. I am going to Florida with my parents, and my annoying brothers. The car trip there will be long and stressful , but at the end it will be all worth it. I hope my trip to Florida is amazing, I always feel so at home when I’m in Florida. I feel as if I should of been born there, I would be a great surfer dude!
Later, the next morning my family and I woke up bright and early because the ship was boarding in to the Bahamas. We went to go get breakfast before the ship docked and I got pancakes and eggs and they were delicious. When we were done eating we went to our room
The driver sped off towards Ester Island which is a island where we take oil out of the sea floor. We got to see all of the seals barking and jumping up and down on the island. After we went to Ester Island we went to the North Side of the beach and waved hi to the other Junior Lifeguards who were on their paddle boards. Now it was time to head back to south side jetty and get ready for boat drops. We got as close as it was safe to go to the jetty, then all of us climbed back onto the swim step, hung our heels as far off the edge as we could, and held onto the plastic of the boat or the slippery metal railing. The lifeguards told us we would be going 25 mph and that when we were pointed to we would roll off of the edge like a rolly polly. The engine then started up and we were off. There were four people who went before me then I was pointed to. I quickly took my hands off of the railing and hugged my legs. I rolled off of the swim step into the fluffy wake from the boat. The wake sent me spinning in circles under water and I got some water up my nose, but I loved it! Everyone who was in the water looked at each other with smiles as big as the
everything was packed, we carried out our cooler, rods, bait, and tackle boxes down to the dock. The sky was just beginning to turn a light gray color, and all the trees were standing still. We filled up the boat with our fishing supplies, and I untied the ropes from the dock. The boat was white and blue on the outside, with a matching interior. The engine was always a little slow starting, but that morning it fired on the first try.
Have you ever been on a trip that you knew from the start it would be the best? I have been on many trips in my life, but one has stood out to me and I am sure you will understand why after you hear about it. The start of the day was just like any other, wake up, go to school, come home from school, but then the ned was different. I was in fourth grade and after dinner my parents surprised my brother and I with a trip to Alaska! It would be a cruise, the first ever cruise I would be on. When my mom and dad told me about this trip a smile popped on my face and I jumped a little as I mumbled, “Really”? My family was going to go on the cruise with my Grandpa, grammie, Aunt Alice and Uncle Jerry, these people were from my mom’s side of the family.
On May 22, 1994 it was my ninth birthday. My mom and dad decided to go on a cruise to the Bahamas. We went on one of the Carnival cruise ships. This boat was the biggest boats I ever saw. When we rushed to get on the cruise ship I saw that there were so many rooms and shops. My favorite room was the Game room, when I entered the game room there were so many games and seemed like there were hundreds and hundreds of them. I started to get bored so I left. When I went to back to our room my dad was thinking about going scuba diving.
We got into our lines, behind groups of excited families and happy little old men and women. As the line ascended up the ramp onto this enormous water vessel, pictures were taken of every group of passengers. Smile, laugh and look happy! Riiight. As a matter of fact, I was pretty anxious. I'd never been on a boat like this, and especially not for a whole week.
