Have you ever been on a trip that you knew from the start it would be the best? I have been on many trips in my life, but one has stood out to me and I am sure you will understand why after you hear about it. The start of the day was just like any other, wake up, go to school, come home from school, but then the ned was different. I was in fourth grade and after dinner my parents surprised my brother and I with a trip to Alaska! It would be a cruise, the first ever cruise I would be on. When my mom and dad told me about this trip a smile popped on my face and I jumped a little as I mumbled, “Really”? My family was going to go on the cruise with my Grandpa, grammie, Aunt Alice and Uncle Jerry, these people were from my mom’s side of the family. …show more content…
Inside our room was a short bunk bed, for Jacob and I, a bed, for mom and dad, a tiny bathroom, with a small shower, sink and toilet, A dresser with drawers and A small T.V. and finally, a big door that opened up to a balcony outside. We walked around on the cruise ship, there were so many stores and rooms, I was afraid I would get lost. My mom took me to Camp carnival, which was where your kids could go during the day to meet other kids and do activities. There were lots of kids in the room, that looked around my age, there was a bathroom, a T.V. and a large area to play in. My mom signed me up, so I could go to Camp carnival tomorrow or any day if I wanted to. My brother and I explored all day until dinner time.
We had reservations for 6 at the sit down dinner place. Our whole family, mom, dad, Jacob, grandpa, grammie, Aunt Alice, Uncle Jerry and I, all sat at one table. Our reserved table was in the back so our view was of the white and blue ocean water being squirted up from the motor. After dinner my mom and dad went to the crowded casino and gave Jacob and I money to go play at the kids arcade. There were many different games and after only what felt like a couple minutes, we ran out of money.
We walked back up to the casino to see my mom and dad still playing

The next day was already here. When we got off the cruise ship we got straight on a bus. After driving in the bus for what felt like forever we pulled up to a little store. As soon as the bus stopped I jumped out. The first thing I saw was dust, everywhere, in my face, mouth, and on my shoes. As the dust cloud cleared I saw what I wanted to see, the dogs. With a giant smile on my face, I jumped again and ran over to them! All the dogs were tied to a string and the dogs in the back were tied to what looked almost like a big sled. I picked the dog I liked best, just drugging it by it’s color and tail wagging, and stood next to it, begging for a picture. The workers told my family to get into the big sled. There were two rows, each row fitting two people. I was the first to get in with Jacob shortly after, so we sat in the front. Then my mom and dad sat in the row behind us. The dogs pulled us around on their practice track. The blue sky was only slightly showed as we curved around tall green trees and the I felt a big cold breeze against my arm. After what only felt like a couple of minutes we were already back at where we started. As a frown came on my face I thought It couldn’t be over already, could it but no wait
As I opened my eyes, I saw a giant cruise ship in front of my eyes.It took two whole days but we finally reached Florida where we went Rock Gliding. It’s where you have to get past a giant, rocky maze. The winner gets to cans of ice cream.Though my sister won,we all shared the ice cream.Next stop, the Bahamas!!!In the bahamas we went parasailing up 700 ft above water level,it was so much fun.The boat driver even let us touch the smooth, light blue water with our feet. Finally, we ended with a relaxing dolphin swim on the soft, delicate beach of Jamaica.
This past summer, my family and I went on a cruise to the Bahamas. We had just docked at the second port, Nassau, and were preparing to exit the gigantic ship named the Carnival Fantasy. Once we got to the city, I noticed it was bustling with people of all different backgrounds and cultures. The roads were narrow and some even hilly. I remember coming to the conclusion that a lot of people in the Bahamas must have road rage what from the blaring car horns I could hear around every corner. My family and I were walking along the sidewalk, glancing into shops as we passed them. The weather was unbearably hot, but growing up in South Carolina allowed my family and I to push onward with our adventure. The sun burn on my back started to pulsate in pain any time the sunlight hit it, so we decided to stick to the side of the buildings that provided shade.
As my family and I walked into the plane, we were excited. The plane ride to jamaica stopped in L.A. and, after that, it went to jamaica. When we arrived in Jamaica it was really hot, but it was wet. I immediately took off my sweater I was wearing on the plane. We took a bus to our hotel. Then we started swimming in the water park. Every night there was a show in the main stage. The next day we woke up early to go to chukka. It was awesome. We saw a great house, rode on horses, and did a challenge course. After we came back from Chukka, we went to the water park and swimming pool at the hotel. Then we ate at fresh, which we went most of the time. The next day we woke up earlier to go to the dolphin cove. The bus was an hour late, but the wait
My best friend and I were so excited, we were going to Six Flags some where we haven’t been in years. Around this time we were twelve years old and thought we were the most adventurous people in the world. The night before going to Six Flags I spent the night over her house. My best friend and I couldn’t stop talking about the rides we would get on, which one would be first and what we were going to eat.
The night before leaving I couldn't sleep. When I woke up that morning it was a beautiful spring day. The sun was shining brightly, and the clouds in the sky looked like giant marshmallows. I was so excited because this was my first time going on a vacation. I had already put my suitcases and bags in my car the night before. After I said my goodbyes to my family, I was on my way. I met with Lisa a...
Stylistic Context: The structure of this painting clearly diverts from the soft billowy treatment of the classical Louis XVI style. David minimizes most of the over feminine elegance and replaces it with admirable masculinity. Oath of the Horatii was released just 4 years before the revolution of France, in 1789 when the revolution broke out. David became the neoclassical painter ideologist of the French Revolution. This painting led the way for other neoclassical painters to follow.

As if to conclude our white water rafting adventure, members of my family began recalling which parts of trip they liked the most and which parts they disliked. My family and I decided that we enjoyed the trip and would like to do it again if we got the chance. We all had a lot of fun and got a chance to be together. I learned how fun, dangerous, and scary rafting can be.
On the morning before my sixteenth birthday my family was exited for the special trip we had planned. We packed the car, double checked everything to make sure we didn’t leave anything behind, and headed off to the airport. We boarded the plane, just in time, to Ireland. The flight was great, since we were in first class. After landing we rented a car and drove to our hotel, where we rested for the plans we had the next day. In the morning, my mom thought it would be great to begin the day with a trip to the famous Giant’s Causeway.
I stopped walking and looked up at the faint stars. The seagulls were flying overhead. They were screeching and swooping at the water. I started to wish I were one of them, flying free without any restrictions or limits. I listened to their voice, the screech. Deep down in I could understand what they were saying. I can't explain it, but I was so in love with the moment I thought I saw things as they did. I was in company of animals that had no concept of time, and no worries, and I was contempt with that. I closed my eyes and the faint sun warmed my face, as if shining only for me. The warmth made ...
I was smacked in the face by a gust of hot, humid Texas air as I found my way off the bus. The once brisk morning was getting hotter by the second. My friend Kristi and I looked towards our left and there she was, the Norwegian Sea. The cruise liner that we would be on for the next week. It was the biggest ship I had ever seen up close. Ten stories high and nearly 1000 feet long. It had an intimidating presence that took one's breath away.
When I was a young child I would love to hear my parents tell me that we were going on a trip. I would be full of excitement, because I knew that we would be going to a place that I had never seen before. My parents, my brother, and I would pack our luggage and venture out in our small gray minivan. Three of my most cherished memories in our minivan are when we went to Disney World, the beach, and the mountains.
After a busy week at school, a few close friends and I figured it would be fun to stay at a cabin in Big Bear for the weekend. It was only the middle of August so it was not quite cold enough for snow. We spent our Saturday doing typical mountain activities such as riding our bikes through the trails, going fishing on the lake, and taking a hike through the mountain behind our cabin. It was exciting to get out and explore nature. On our way back to the cabin, we found a clearing with rocks that we could sit on. We noticed that it was almost time for the sun to set, so we decided to stay and watch. Why not, right? We all took off our backpacks, and set up camp for the next hour or so. As we waited, we talked and shared funny stories about what had happened throughout the day. Time went by so fast in what seemed to be only a few minutes, and the sun started to disappear behind the mountain. We all fell silent, sitting and observing. The birds were chirping, and you could hear a slight breeze blowing through the leaves in the trees. We watched as the sky went from blue to purple, from purple to a pink-orange, and then to a bright yellow before the sun was finally hidden by the mountain in front of us. It was a beautiful sight to see. I knew it was a moment in my life that I was going to remember and cherish. We all agreed that w...
The entire family got together and it was always a last minute thing but no matter what was going on we all decide we would go up to County Park Lake to have family time. There would be my grandma and my Aunts and Uncles and their kids when we pulled up to the parking lot. Under the shade trees the women would be sitting trying to stay cool and the older men of the family stand around a grill they would be sitting up the charcoal pyramid to lite to start grilling the food while the kids where at the tot lot playing the equipment you could hear the laughter of the kids playing . Also the mean talking about which is the best way to grill. The women would be laughing at the guys arguing over which way was bett...
My most memorable family vacation took place two years ago. We went to Corsica, a French island situated in the south of France right next to Italy. I remembered waking up early excited to visit this new land. Used to take long flights, I was surprised to arrive to the destination after a one-hour flight. Even though the flight was short for me, it was stressful for my mom, she has never felt secured in a plane, probably due to the fact that she is afraid of height. When finally arrived at the destination, the dry and warm weather was there to welcome us. We all felt relief, and knew that this was the beginning of the summer. Excited, we had a lot of activities planned for the few weeks, me and my father could not wait to dive in the clear
