This summer I went to my lake house, on Lake Shafer. I tubed, skied, wakeboarded, and Kneeboarded. At the start of summer, I was tubing. It was so exciting when I caught air. I had to at least hit 4 feet in the air when my tube hit a wave. I was going so fast, it felt like I was hitting 70 mph when my mom turn the speed boat. It was the best time. At mid summer I was water skiing. To get up, you have to put the rope between the skies and let the boat pull you up. I was zooming in and outside the wake. My brother and I were spraying each other when we double skied. I would shoot outside the wake and go back in as fast as a deer, and cut back out, which would drenge him. Skiing is so much fun because I am really good at it. After I
I was born and raised on snowmobiles. I remember times when I would fall asleep in front of my parents and, being able to ride by myself when I was 5 till now. All the trips my family has been on in four states and we are talking about going to the mountains this year. Being able to ride around here with all my friends see who can go the biggest jump.
I Love to snow ski, to me it is the epitome of excitement. I first tried
stood upon, was frightening. The only was to go was down. I took a deep
I got involved in many wakeboarding camps during the summertime when I was a kid. The goal was to improve my skills and succeed, so I decided that I would take some lessons. The lessons were given out on a private ski lake in Toldeo, WA, near Olympia. I loved taking lessons out there because I got to ride behind some of the nicest boats around. The boats they had out at the lake threw up huge wakes that launched me into the air like I never had experienced before.
There 's a first time for everyone and this one just so happened to be my first canoe trip. Being pushed off the small bank covered in seashells, and grasping the paddle firmly in my hand held a new sensation for me, especially after realizing my feet were indeed not on land, but firmly placed to stabilize our canoe. The sound of the cars overhead from the bridge did not escape me as we paddled under through the man made canal. The sound of engines dominated the vicinity and added to the noise pollution that irritated the environment. Hollow remnants of cypress trees stand tall on both sides of the wooden swamp bank. The sounds and the sights overloaded my senses at times. Once I got distracted and our canoe veered off center and toward the banks. My partner and I crashed into a few trees here and there and picked up a few stowaways; a
One of the most defining elements of my life is my passion for freeride skiing. This extreme sport frees my mind, and it gives me the privilege to make the most of whatever terrains gets to my way. I was raised in the shadows of the Italian Alps, so skiing was as natural as walking or breathing to me. Freeride skiing is skiing off piste on untouched, rough terrain without any goals or rules. Freeride skiers follow a path that is not delimited by others, but determined by the skiers themselves. It was not until I discovered freeride skiing that I began to understand what personally moves me and makes me who I am. Although I am not reckless or fearless, I love to challenge my limits, and I am not afraid to push myself physically or mentally.
From fishing in canals to fishing at the peer or fishing at the peer or fishing at a random lakes it's all too fun. Fishing is so interesting, because you will never know what down there or what you can pull out. Nothing tops the adrenaline that
Sledding is something I really enjoy very much. Sledding is a memory that has been with me for as long as I can remember; the thrill of getting to the top of the hill is exciting, then looking down and preparing yourself. Settling into your sled and getting to the edge builds the anticipation and then comes the excitement of scooting off and going down building up speed more and more. Hitting bumps or jumps would sometimes make you crash but that was just part of the excitement! On a very cold Saturday day, Dan, Nate and I went sledding at some sand dunes on the other side of Negaunee.
When I was 10 years old my friend took me mountain biking for the first time. It was the most fun thing i had ever done. It was hard when i was littler because i could not afford to buy new parts and upgrades. I would save up my birthday money every year and i would get a new part or something else. One year i bought a BMX bike to ride around the neighborhood, thinking that it would be cheaper because it
Riding jet skis made me realize that it was something I loved to do. I finally was able to ride to the jet ski by myself, because when we went to Hawaii the first time I wasn 't old enough to ride by myself so I had to ride on the back with my dad controlling the jet ski. Now that I was old enough to drive one myself, I became comfortable with the jet ski and I had a blast driving the jet ski around the course. We decided to go to the zoo while we were out there. For some reason, that zoo was very different from the zoos in the Bay Area. The zoo was as big as the beach in my opinion. I remember watching the apes play fight with each other over a toy car that little kids would play with. It was about eight apes and one of the apes didn 't have a left hand, because he injured himself when he was a baby. It was honestly a productive day for us.
You can go skiing and tubing. Tubing is way better than skiing only because I can't ski. One time I was riding the tub that had a backrest with my cousin Ethan Sharpe; Ty Jones was driving the boat and Uel Turner was driving slow to make big waves so that we would hit them and get some air. We hit one of the waves and and went
I’ve been on many backpacking trips in my life, ever since I could walk I was camping with my dad and brother. There will always be special places with memories I have from these trips, like Rabbit Ears, the first place I ever backpacked, or Lost Creek wilderness, a place I’ve backpacked in several times in different years with many different memories on it’s own. However, the best and most memorable trip would be my trip to Parika Lake.
It all happened on a sunny day out in the field. I was only six years old at the time and it was the middle of the summer. There wasn't a cloud in the sky. It was a tough time for me. Also I learned it is smart to practice before jumping into something.
It is the most exciting thing I have done, both physically and mentally, not only because it gave me the adrenaline rush found very rarely but because it also taught me lessons I use every day to help me. For example, when the group went surfing and rock climbing, the experience was physically draining but I was also told that no matter how many times I will slip or fall, the goal will stay the same and I was one less mistake closer to reaching it.
Some of the best times I have in the summertime are riding my jetski. One of my best friends, who also has a ski, go out almost everyday in the summer. We would sometimes even wake up around six o'clock in the morning just to ride the glossy surf at Sandy Hook. There was one great day I had on the ski…
