I have truly enjoyed discovering my voice as a writer this school year. Developing my personal writing process will benefit my high school journey and create future opportunities in life. While I have always enjoyed writing, at times I found the process laborious since writing has never come naturally to me. I have worked diligently on improving my writing, and assembling my portfolio has led me on a literary journey as I explored and evaluated my work. Over the last few years, I have practiced brainstorming and organizing my ideas before beginning my essay. Properly outlining my ideas equated to a well written thesis and overall organized essay. What I once thought as excessive and pretentious is now a world of opportunity and fortune. How fickle and near-sighted, or maybe just naïve and spoiled I was, and probably still am.
