Personal Narrative: My Five Best Strengths

My five greatest strengths are adaptability, communication, honesty, leadership, and organization. I have utilized these strengths in so many areas of my life. I am very strong with adaptability, it's easy for me to catch on to a lot of things. If someone was to show me a particular task the right way, I will catch on with know problem. Communication is one that I plan to improve on in the future. Honesty is a strength that I have always had. I believe honest is something that I have utilized throughout my jobs, life, etc. I am usually a straight forward individual. Another one of the strengths that I use often would be leadership. Once you familiarize yourself with everyone strengths, you can place them in certain areas. Placing individuals in a certain area where their strengths are most effective will help them to utilize their strengths. Some people might get strengths confused, and wonder what are strengths. As I read the chapter in the book, I now understand that strengths are talents. "A talent is a naturally recurring pattern of thoughts, feelings, or behavior that can be productively applied" (Clifton, Anderson, Schreiner, 2006, p.2). Many people learn to develop their strengths by working alongside with others. When others work together it gives them the chance to bring their talents together as one. Per the article " Individuals learn more in dialogue with the team than they can learn individually" (Boyle, 2005, p.100). I believe if organizations would allow employees to work as one; it will allow others to see things from a different perspective. If you use this method it will allow others to use the strengths and help someone else develop
