It was June of 2016 when I started working at Penn Station. I was eighteen years old and this was my first job ever. The first day of work it was sun drenched and warm. I had cold chills, because I was tense and thrilled. I went in committed to do my best and I did. It seemed pretty wonderful at first. I learned I shouldn’t always act upon how I feel because it won’t always benefit me. I also learned to keep your friends close and your enemies closer. I remember walking in on my first day because I felt self sufficient. Saturday was my first night working at Penn Station. I met my two night managers, Boogie and Randy. We joked around. I had to walk away to go help Kendra with the topping station for a little while. Later, I walked back …show more content…
After work I called Kendra to tell her what happened. She said, “Randy has done something indistinguishable previously. Randy took a girl’s application, looked for her number, and started texting her. She told him to stop, and he didn’t.” Saturday I worked with Randy and Boogie. Later I got done helping Kendra and Boogie called me into the office. Boogie asked me, “Are you alright?” Boogie proceeded to say, ”If anything like that happens again tell me and I’ll take care of …show more content…
Why can’t Aja mop?” He replied, “So. I have asthma too. She told you to do it so you can do it.” I said, “Okay, so you’re essentially trying to force me to do this when I told you I have a health problem and can’t?” Randy said “yes.” I concurred to Randy “I’ll leave before I do that.” My mom came to pick me up after work and she noticed I was aggravated, I explained to her what happened. She replied “That’s bullshit, but I feel like they continuously treat you like this because you told Dave about the situation with Randy.” My feelings were a carbon copy of my mothers. My mom wanted to walk in there and fight Aja because she stepped out of line with me but I felt as if my job was more significant than snatching up a basic female. When my dad found out about the first commotion he was not happy and the second one made my Dad even more
Last summer, I worked at a car dealership in my hometown as a cashier and receptionist. I was responsible for processing large payments, handling both the physical paperwork and the digital orders in our dealer management software. On the reverse side, I worked at Five Guys in a very team-oriented environment. Everyone had their own part to play, but our successes were ultimately a result of how well we worked as a team. This job also taught me how to juggle multiple responsibilities, as we were frequently understaffed and had to jump between positions.
Started out - I don’t remember what I started out but I was making $2.10 there at that time, and that was good wages for back then cause I didn’t start making that again until after I left up there and come back here.

Growing up all my friends had perfect jobs for teenagers. As a teenager, I spent a lot of time applying for jobs and searching for places to work because money didn’t come easy and I wanted to be in control of my own money. But I could never score a job. I applied to at least 100 jobs at least twice and I still couldn’t get an opportunity.
Today I work at Little Caesars. When I first started working here about 15 months ago I rather enjoyed my job. The people were nice and the pay was awful but i'm just a teenager so minimum wage wasn't bad. Believe it or not I have a good work ethic I just dislike school and sitting at a desk. Anyway the bosses liked my effort and I got a raise.
Marcus thought the day couldn’t get worse. He woke up to the annoying sound of his alarm clock. He was still in his clothes from yesterday. The time is 8:15, and the bus to work leaves at 8:30. He rushed out of bed and started to get ready. Luckily, he found a clean pair of work clothes. When he was finished getting ready, he grabbed everything he needed for work and ran out of the door.
When I obtained my first job at China Grill in August of 2017, I was a nervous wreck. Unfortunately, being convinced that my boss would act with hostile intentions built a foundation for my anxiety to stand on. The outcome in reality is that she was jovial, always offering me Chinese candy to snack on and being incredibly patient when I misunderstood her instructions. Although my boss was marvelous, completing monetary transactions with the customers would force my anxiety levels to spike, causing heavy reliance on the calculator to determine the amount of change to return to a guest. If a customer began to seem impatient, panicking was my next course of action. This usually resulted in the customer getting the wrong amount of change back.
I completed 1 month of work experience with Card Factory where I started by stacking shelves in the stock room and making sure it was clean and tidy by health and safety rules. I got some experience with working with customers on the shop floor, responding to their queries about where certain products were located and if they need any help, I spoke to them in a calm and friendly matter and made sure they were the first priority when I was busy doing other
You know those dreams you have where you’re falling, and then suddenly wake up in a fright? Nobody likes those dreams, but I was hoping that I would pop awake from the nightmare I had in NYC.
The day started out great, it was my first day at Disney World and my group had big plans for that day. Our first stop was in Hollywood Studios. This park was the coolest park in my opinion, it had the Rockin’ Roller Coaster, Tower of Terror, and Toy Story. The Tower of Terror was a stomach dropping rollercoaster. It felt like butterflies in your stomach twittering around. For the two minutes I was on the rollercoaster it made me feel like I was in a spaceship blasting off every time we went up in the air. Next after the rollercoaster my whole group got really hungry, so we went to this famous cafe. Kelsie and I shared some chicken nuggets and then we had to get drinks, so she grabbed the drinks and I picked the table. I must have a really bad sense of tables because some how out of all the tables I sat at there were birds sitting up at the ledge, well at the time I didn’t know the birds were there. I sat my tray down and next thing I know I hear a plop right next to my tray. A bird pooped on the table! It was hilarious. Kesie walked out and I told her what happened.
Reflecting back to my first day at , it was one of the most memorable days of my time at work. After being introduced to everyone, I was handed a tender to work on, in which they had
This trip has been one of my most favorite trips of all time. At first I didn’t know what to expect or how I would enjoy this trip, but once we started I began to fall in love with the city and the people I was with. On Monday afternoon we all went to see the Brooklyn Bridge. While we were there, Mr. Sattler spoke to us about the history of the bridge and what it took to build it. From laying its foundation under the water to putting together the bridge’s suspension, many people died throughout the construction of the bridge. Once we got to the bridge, we spoke more about its structure and about its view over the East River. By being there in person, I was able to see the results of everything it took to build and manage this bridge. On Tuesday we visited the
“I know.” I respond, i'm not going to demand anything. I’m not in a position to do that.
It was a clothing store for children. I enjoyed the job I had in the beginning; all I did was open up boxes and place the clothes in the racks so the store associates could hang them up on the store racks. I enjoyed the job because I did not have to deal with the customers that came into the store. In addition, when viewing what I value in the workplace, I realized that I find intellectual stimulation, security, and economic rewards to be the most important values.
All of my jobs I have been working so far, they had been surrounded by restaurants. The very first job that I had is catering for weddings. You could call it waiter for weddings, but I think it was more than that. During my high school year, I was eager to have a job, because I was spending money on unnecessary things. I was a very lazy person and this job had completely changed me. The funny thing is it happened so fast, my first job lasts only a day.
