Personal Narrative: My First Trip To Disney World

I walked in the sweltering summer heat as the Florida breeze hit my face. I walked into the big gates and breathed in the warm summer air, and I looked to my parents and said, “Wow, we are really here.” The smell of the cotton candy and the Mickey Mouse shaped balloons caught my attention when I first walked into the park. It was like a fairy tale story. I saw everything that I imagined as a child. I remembered seeing Cinderella waiving at the park goers, and Mickey and Minnie greeted us as we walked into the park. There was a parade starting when we passed the train that circled the park and there was a line of people dancing to the beat of Disney songs playing throughout the park. I saw many adults acting like kids again and kids being kids. This was the happiest place on earth. The first ride I went on was “It’s a small world ride.” This ride is one of the most popular rides at Disney and it has been at the park for over 40 years. Whenever I went to Disney World, this was the first ride I always went on. The wait for this ride was always long, but it goes by very fast because of the multiple boats that went back and forth taking people through the cultures of the world. When I got on the boat, I was first taken through the many dances of the children of Western Europe, Eastern Europe, The Middle East, Asia, Africa, Antarctica, South America, and Australia. I went through the ride listening to the classic anthem of world peace in the different languages. After the ride, I learned the meaning behind the ride and it was that we are all the same no matter what part of the world we are in.
