My palms were sweaty, I was a nervous wreck; should I go or not? Just the thought of people dying at Six Flags gives me the chills. Falling off a ride and slowly coming to your death. Even though I was at Six Flags who would have thought that I would have to make such a tough decision about a ride. It was 98 degrees outside that day at Six Flags Over Texas. The sun was beating down on us. Waiting in a 45 minute line was the last thing I wanted to do. After receiving so much heat from the sun, we finally decide to get wet. We went on the Aquaman, and luckily the line was short. When I got off the ride, I felt better. My hair was wet and there was finally a cool breeze. After the Aquaman, Everyone was ready to get on a boisterous ride. Therefore,
they agreed on The Texas Giant. I was ecstatic! I was totally ready, or at least I thought I was. While standing in the line I started staring at the structure of The Texas Giant, how it was so wobbly and wooden. As we got closer I started having second thoughts. I started thinking about the person that died. What if I was the third person to die? “Come on Leslie,” shouted Laura. “ I don't think i'm going to go.” “Come on!” she shouted again.” “NO! what if I slip and fall out because i am wet.” “Your not i'm going to be right beside you.” “I can’t, I will wait for you all over here.” I am always up for exciting things, but this I was not too excited about it in the end. I realized I did not have to do something I was NOT comfortable with. In the long run I did what I was comfortable with, and not what I was pressured into doing. After all, I do control my own actions.
It was the summer of 2012 and my family was taking another trip to Six Flags Great America. Earlier that summer we went just for me to be disappointed. At the time I wasn’t 54 inches yet and couldn’t ride any of the rides that I wanted to because they were the most popular at the amusement park. But, I hit a growth spurt between trips and we planned to ride all of the big rollercoasters. The one that I was most terrified of at the time was Raging Bull, one of the tallest, fastest, and longest steel coasters in the US. As we started to wait in line for the ride I was shaking with both anticipation and fear and began to rethink my idea to ride the rollercoaster. I decided to stay in line and see what many people thought was a great coaster.
What comes to mind when you hear the word adventure!!? Well there is a place in Florida that is guaranteed to bring out your inner kid every time you visit. This place is known as universal Orlando Florida. This is a place where you can go on vacation and have fun like never before as you did when you were a kid. On my visit to Orlando I stated at a four-star resort located inside the theme park known as Cabana Bay Beach Resort, also went to universal studios and islands of adventure were I felt like I was a kid again.
This one morning while we were all on vacation at Panama City beach, we all woke up at the right time. We saw some dolphins passing by our window and it was so awesome. We watched them pass until we couldn’t see them anymore. Since we were all crowed up around each other I figured it would be a good time to tell my family the plans that I have for the day ahead. I told them that I wanted to go to the pool and so we went to our amazing hotel pool. I was too short to stand anywhere other than the 3-foot area, so when I wanted to go anywhere else I could touch the ground. The pool had these amazing water slides but I was too short to ride on them. I could ride on the smaller one, it went so fast!
As my family and I walked into the plane, we were excited. The plane ride to jamaica stopped in L.A. and, after that, it went to jamaica. When we arrived in Jamaica it was really hot, but it was wet. I immediately took off my sweater I was wearing on the plane. We took a bus to our hotel. Then we started swimming in the water park. Every night there was a show in the main stage. The next day we woke up early to go to chukka. It was awesome. We saw a great house, rode on horses, and did a challenge course. After we came back from Chukka, we went to the water park and swimming pool at the hotel. Then we ate at fresh, which we went most of the time. The next day we woke up earlier to go to the dolphin cove. The bus was an hour late, but the wait
When we awoke the next morning, we got dressed and left the hotel headed towards Six Flags over Houston. My grandfather had bought us some coupons for the entrance fee so it would not cost as much. When we arrived, the air seemed very oppressive. The mood had already set itself to a very depressing day. We walked to the entrance and we found out that the coupons were no good. That did not stop us our parents paid the normal cost. We were finally at Six Flags.
A typical outing out in the water can turn any bad day into an unbelievable
Would you rather drive on Route 66 or on the interstate? When you are on the interstate it is so boring because there is nothing to look at. Who would want to do that for most of your day and who would be happy with looking at trees and other cars and who would want to spend there whole day doing that because I know I would not want to do that. But on Route 66 you have so much to look at and Route 66 can take you back in time by used to "grand" high way. What would you do if that was you?
I had a great time during my vacation in Myrtle Beach. First of all, myrtle beaches were beautiful. I went to Myrtle Beaches on summer 2013 for ten days, and I had a good time with my family. It was always about 90 degrees
I didn’t know how I felt about starting the day off with the tallest roller coaster in the world, but I wanted to get it out of the way. As we walked towards the ride I could smell the heated rubber from the tracks of the coaster. It was so strong that it made my eyes water a little bit. When we got to the ride there was a half hour wait, which wasn’t too bad for Six Flags. The closer we got to the ride the more regrets I started to have.
One day we went to Yosemite National Park to visit again for my birthday because I asked to go there again. It took a very long time to get there. When we got there we had to pay at the main entrance, the park ranger said, "$30 dollars please", in a Texas voice. The park ranger said,"Enjoy your way into beautiful Yosemite. But the day before we had to pack lunch, fruit, vegetables, and clothes just in case we got wet in the water. But then we began our journey to Yosemite again. We found a spot to get wet but the water was very very cold so we tried to find another spot and we did. The water was so warm like a brownie out of a oven that's how warm it was. So then I got in the water with my brother
In the past, I had come to grips that I had bad sleep issue and rarely had a good night rest. Partly, due to my high energy daughter with special needs that also woke frequently and partly because I've suffered with this affliction for my entire life. I came to expect that the hightened worry prior to travel would just be part of who I am,as well. I can write lists so I know I'm not forgetting anything, but ultimately, I'll worry that I'm forgetting something or not leaving the my parents, who usually take care of the kids/pets, with enough info to survive without me.
We left the campground at about 8 o'clock in the morning. It was a Saturday, so The Dells was super busy, it took us about an hour to get to the place. It was a very warm morning in Wisconsin Dells. The sun wasn't shining, but it was very humid. But with the thought of zip lining in the back of my mind, I was shivering. When we got to the place where we would zip line, it started to rain and that made it a lot colder for me. We could see this extremely tall tower awaiting our arrival. When I saw it, my heart sunk to my stomach.
The whole drive there I was just wondering what I was going to do and see over there. I mean I thought I thought I was excited about my plane ride there, but that wasn?t even half of what I was feeling at that time. Once I saw the roller coasters as we drove to Universal?s Island of Adventure my face just lit up like the sun.
This lukewarm water was deceiving though, because it only seemed lukewarm due to the drop in temperature and misty rainfall. The waves were rushing toward me like a bull to a matador’s red flag. My mouth tasted as if someone dumped a whole shaker of salt on my tongue. The wave pushed my further and faster as it I could feel the wave breaking on my body and there I was back at the shallows again floating in with the white wash and was ready for another wave. As I stood back up and ran back out to the deep water I saw one of my surfing mates catch the most perfect barrel it was rad. It would have been a great snap shot. I caught another wave, this one was even bigger. The thrust of the wave was twisting my body and I was pulled towards the sea
This was an ecstatic moment, considering I never thought I’d do something like this being deathly afraid of sharks. After being strapped up with life jackets, my friend took off like a bat out of you-know-where. At that exact moment, I was determined these were going to be the last moments of my life. A few minutes passed, and I realized that the most exotic points in your life are also going to be the ones you remember most. Therefore, I immediately began enjoying this ten times more than I originally did. Saltwater flew in my mouth, our jet-ski was ‘gliding’ across the ocean like a bouncy ball, my body was being viciously thrown around, and I was holding onto my friend’s life jacket as if I was holding onto my life (I sort of was). The feel of the rough, coarse life jacket strap burned my hands. I remember this experience like it was yesterday, and it’s still one of my go-to stories to tell from our trip.
