"I really want Cromwell and I to try training classes." said Kevin.
"No. I will only pay for you to do something, not the dog." said Howie. "But dad..." said Kevin.
Kevin really wanted to take Cromwell to training classes but Kevin’s father Howie would not allow it. Kevin's father Howie did not believe that jumping through a hoop and leaping over fences was a sport, but Kevin did. Kevin just wanted to take Cromwell to classes because it would make him happier and it would make him a more improved dog.
Since Howie would not accept it, Kevin had to make an amazing plan that would blow Howie’s mind away. Kevin's plan would also have to be really good because it would have to convince Howie to let Kevin and Cromwell to take the classes. Kevin went up to his room and started to write some ideas down on paper. At first his mind was blank and he could not think of a plan good enough to persuade Howie. Then Kevin just thought that he could just write some ideas and make it into one big plan.
Then Kevin went on the computer and searched for some interesting facts and stories that could persuade his father. He found a bunch of stories and facts that would blow Howie’s mind away. Kevin then wrote everything on a piece of paper. He wrote

“I don’t get it. Why did you have to give me a pet name in the first place? What’s the point?”
Paul hasn’t written in a long time because he’s been busy with soccer games, football games, school, and cross-curricular projects. During that time, his father is now firmly in command as the Director of Civil Engineering for Tangerine County, and his mother now the head of the Architectural Committee, a block captain for the Neighborhood Watch patrol, and mostly like to be the successor to Mr. Costello as president of the Homeowners’ Association. His brother, Erik, has now become a local hero as the placekicker for Lake Windsor High Seagulls.
Traditionally Kevin, his Father, Gary Hazen, and his brother, Gary David, all go out on the first hunt together at two in the morning after a breakfast of homemade pancakes, but this year is different. Kevin wants to break free from the life of his family and doesn't want to go on the hunt with his father and brother. He can't comprehend why his father is so set in his ways and Kevin doesn’t want to live his father's life. Gary is a forester and finds it important to work hard to most provide for his family and to conserve nature. Kevin, like most kids, doesn’t understand his fathers way of thinking, and wants to live his own life. A life away from Lost Lake. Kevin attempts to break free of his fathers lifestyle by attending a nearby college, in hopes to eventually become teacher. Gary isn't happy with his son's decision to go to school and Kevin can't understand his fathers views, which causes the two to butt heads throughout the novel. But a tragic accident suddenly leaves Kevin fighting for his and his fathers lives. Having to use the knowledge and skills that his father had taught Kevin suddenly suddenly realizes his dad was right after all.
She states that Rufus’s life seems much more real than her life back home. At one point she says that Kevin is the only one that is connecting her to her time. Butler suggests that Kevin is a “safe house” from time travel and social slavery. Kevin assumes this role when he goes back in time with Dana. He then assumes the role of Dana’s slaveholder, which proves to be conflicting and confronting for Dana. She says that he is a “safe house” for her; he protects her from the other slaveholders in the plantation as well as other slaves in the plantation. Also, his room works as a sort of sanctuary from the nightmare that they are both living. Likewise, Kevin works as a reassurance of the time Dana comes from. Dana says “He had become my anchor, suddenly, my tie to my own world. He couldn’t have known how much I needed him firmly on my side” (p.47). He helps her remember where home really is. He is the anchor to their reality. He not only helps Dana escape, but he acts as a safe house for slaves when Dana is gone. He tells Dana that he spent the time while she was gone helping slaves escape to freedom. He becomes a rebel to the
... got to the woods where Kenny wanted to hunt. Tub was trying for somewhere different; two years in a row they'd been up and down this land and hadn't seen a thing. Frank didn't care one way or another, he just wanted to get out of the goddamned truck" (Wolff 76). Kenny is in charge. He gives only one reason why they have to hunt at that place and the other two give up. Tub wants to make a change. He puts himself out there by making a suggestion to Kenny and is immediately shot down. Frank is indifferent. He is a product of his surroundings. He is cruel to Tub when he is with Kenny. When he is with Tub he is himself. The unspoken bond between the two men spurs the realization not to take Kenny to the hospital. The both make the decision that Kenny was asking to be shot the whole day. Kenny's treatment of Tub and Frank justify his murder in their eyes.

Kevin is an actor that becomes famous from his role as “the manny” on the major TV show called, The Manny. After quitting this role, he struggles to find a new job that he enjoys and feels comfortable with. Kevin struggles with making relationships work and last. Kate is very close with her brother Kevin, but she does not visit with her brother Randall because they live so far away. Randall struggles with raising his children and being African American. However, the most insecure character in the show is Kate. Kate faces many challenges in the show, but they all relate her obesity and insecurity with who she is as a person.
Darry is the oldest Curtis boy. He is smart, hardworking, and very muscular. He is Ponyboy and Soda’s big brother. For his symbols I chose a tight black muscle shirt, a high school diploma, egg sandwich, chocolate cake, bundle of twigs, and a letterman jacket. The tight black muscle shirt represents he is muscular. The high school diploma means he is smart. He loves egg sandwiches and chocolate cake. The bundle of twigs represents the bundle of roofing and Darry works really hard. The letterman jacket means he loves to play football and had a scholarship for college. Darry had two main conflicts him hitting Ponyboy and him not going to college. Ponyboy came home late and Darry was mad so he slapped Ponyboy. Darry was going to
Before Dana and him meet each other, Kevin’s life is more on the bland side. “I think Kevin was as lonely and out of place as I was when I met him, though he was handling it much better. But then, he was about to escape,” (Butler 52). Kevin is about to escape his life of loneliness before he meets Dana, thus, meaning that he is completely capable of being happy by himself. He has an independent personality. This might be a leading factor as to why Kevin is so loving to Dana since his happiness and security does not rely on her. However, even though he does not need her to function, Kevin is still truly faithful and loyal to Dana. Kevin loves her so much, he even goes back to the past with her to try to ensure her safety. “Suddenly, Kevin was beside me holding me. I tried to push him away. I was afraid for him without knowing why. I shouted for him to let me go,” (Butler 58). He holds on to her without hesitation, fully aware of the consequences that come with going back to the 19th century. This kind of devotion is healthier than the one Margaret has for her son because it is not unrequited. The amount of love Kevin and Dana have is equivalent to each other, therefore, they both respect each other. Since they feel this way about each other, he is fearless when it comes to love, knowing that Dana and him can support each other. When he comes back from spending five years in the 19th century, Kevin becomes more reserved and hidden from the world. “The expression on his face was like something I’d seen, something I was used to seeing on Tom Weylin. Something closed and ugly,” (Butler 194). When a traumatic event happens, even love cannot tarnish the walls built up by the experience. Nonetheless, his character mostly stays the same during this period of time, but he still has to adjust to the “new world,” making him a bit moody and unresponsive. He deals with this situation step by step
The movie was built from the numerous complications throughout the film, but has two main points of complication that made the story of the movie how it is. Although the focus of the movie is about Kevin, the movie first crucial complication of the McCallister family waking up late for their trip to Paris played a big role for the plot. The family did not realize that Kevin was still asleep in the third floor in the midst of chaos to get to the airport before the flight departs. When Kevin’s oldest sister did a head count, a neighbor boy was present during the count and is mistaken for being Kevin. This first complication is what led to everything else that happened the way it did in the film. If it wasn’t for the family waking up late and forgetting about Kevin, the...

Kevin did what probably any curious kid would do without any supervision and that is having fun. Snooping through his older brother...
