Short Story “I’m tired of going after these old boring ghost sites. We need something new,” Kareem said. Deshon replied, “We need something bigger and better.” “What if we go to the Catacombs!” Kareem said excitingly. The group discussed it over and Kareem and Deshon were for it, but kevin wasn't. Of course Kevin doesn't want to go. Kevin is the scaredy cat of the group. He is a shorty and tries to act like the big man of the group. Although, when it comes to ghost hunting and the supernatural, he cries about it and is scared. Kareem stated “Kevin you're gonna go to the Catacombs and you're not gonna wuss out this time!” That shut Kevin up real quick. The KDK have been planning this investigations for months. They have the gear and the
style to go in the Catacombs. As the time came Kevin has gotten more nervous and scared. He is forced to go. As the day approached they were getting ready. It's 5:00 p.m. and everyone is ready to roll. They start to drive towards the catacombs and see that Kevin isn't scared. As soon as they arrive he tries to run away. Kareem tackles him down and tells him to man up and go already. So when they calm him down they go in their and it's just a scary as it sounds. It smells bad, there is red goo on the wall(I think it's red goo), and their is skulls all over the wall. So they start walking and they start seeing things. Not normal things, things that made you scream. Things that made your cry. They were welcomed to the Catacombs. The catacombs was not like any other place in the world. It was another ballgame down there. Kareem being the knucklehead that he is brought a gun. He didn't tell the other guys. As your can tell Kareem is the self conceited, obnoxious, funny guy of the group. He is also brave though and tries to show off for the ladies. Anyways,
He used to wait tables before starting his acting career. He didn't love this job and shared saying, "Waking up at four in the morning to make bagels was pretty rough; that and working for many assholes in the restaurant business -- [were] very, very demeaning. I was fired from nine waiting jobs. I think the biggest offense I had caused was I didn't have my pocket buttoned on my shirt. That's the kind of mentality we're talking about." He is a dad and is also allergic to cats. One day, Rick Hoffman hopes to get to work with Kevin
The movie the Labyrinth tells a story about a group of unlikely heroes trying to make their way though a maze in order to defeat the Goblin King. The story starts out with the main character Sarah whom, without even realizing it, wishes her baby brother to be taken way by Jareth the Goblin King. He tells her that if she wants her brother back she will have to make her way through the labyrinth and to the castle beyond the Goblin City. She only has 13 hours to complete the seemingly impossible task or her little brother Toby will be turned into a goblin. While making her way through the twisted and endless maze Sarah runs into many weird characters. The first person she encounters is Hoggle a very untrustworthy dwarf whom is under the influence of Jareth. He is selfish and does things only if there is something for him to gain. He betrays Sarah many times throughout the movie, but in the end he proves himself to be more than a traitorous coward. Ludo is a yeti and despite looking vicious is a gentle and caring monster. Ludo also has the power to control rocks. Sir Didymis is a loudmouthed, but noble knight who displays his valor throughout the movie. The four heroes manage to fight their way through the perilous labyrinth. The Goblin King Jareth is defeated and Sarah’s brother Toby is saved. Though the characters in this movie seemed to be nothing more than ordinary, and if not odd, they fought their way through labyrinth and conquered an entire army of evil goblins and their king. These behaviors are shown when he walks into the girls bunkers, and tells the girls that the uncleanliness of the bathroom is unacceptable. Although he may appear to be the dominant of the personalities he was completely hidden until Hedwig overcame
No matter how you look at it, there will always will be a power struggle between the ones who have it and the ones that don’t have it. James C. Scott describes in his memoir “Behind the Official story”, James talks about political sciences in society and hidden transcripts in the public. James describes hidden transcripts as being “The public transcript, where it is not positively misleading, is unlikely to tell the whole story about power relations” (Scott 522). The hidden transcript is a lie and disguise for those who don’t have control and power. He argues about how both parties are misleading and conspiring against each other. Azar Nafisi also talks about power relations in her memoir “Reading Lolita in Tehran a memoir in books”. Azar is Muslim who host a book club with her friends as they talk about literature and are able to be themselves without the power of authority or presence of man in the room. The fact that there are hidden transcripts shows that Azar may be herself at home, but in public must be covered and be an obeying woman to the power of authority and men on the outside. If you really think about the only time when we have power and are away from Hidden transcripts is when we are in are homes, where we have power.
Shaniah Hutson entered the 1031’s side of the building and entered into the office where both staffs were located. Staff asked Shaniah if she wanted to take her medications this morning. I guess you could say Kevin is the ring leader of the group. He is an unassuming man at first look. Sure he is covered in tattoos and has his ears gauged, but that’s not so out of the normal anymore. Once you get to know him however, your outlook may change. Kevin was raised as a Mormon from his childhood. He went to church and was baptized according to their
Many families, composed of undocumented individuals, across the U.S, live in constant oppression and fear that at given moment their lives can completely change if a loved one is deported. This continuous cycle of devaluating the undocumented had caused frustration in hundreds of individuals who now join the fight against inadequate undocumented rights. In the book Dreams Deported many share their stories of resistance against the system that tears apart families and shatters dreams through deportation.
