There are 98,817 schools in the United States. Of this, only 1,412 are in Louisiana and from that, 10 are in Washington Parish. That means I had a 1 out of 98,817 chance of coming to Pine High School. From the moment we are born our only mission, whether we are aware of it or not, is to develop who we are. Every one of these details, big or small, create who we are. We develop or likes and interest, our dislikes, hobbies, hair length, body shape, and even which hand we are dominant with. I have spent my entire high school career at Pine, and I am so thankful for that. Entering into high school I was so bewildered at all that it was. No longer would I see the same faces in class everyday. I wish I had the power to see through the walls of this school. They have seen it all. Fights, arguments, friendships end and begin, relationships blossom and die, and overall they have watched as all of us went from frightened 14 year old’s configure into the adults we have became. There are so many memories I have made in this school. I remember participating in my first Special Olympics, one of my favorite events that we hold every year. Also, my first public speaking competition where I found a whole new passion. I …show more content…
We are the future of our world. If we want something to happen we must make it! Be bold and use your heart and knowledge to stand for those who haven't found their voice. Be a beacon of light for those who have found themselves in the dark. Make the world that you want to live in. There are things to be built and lives to be saved. Whatever your passion is, do it in the fullest. Just think, Disney was fired from a newspaper because he lacked imagination and Steve Jobs was let go because he lacked the skills. Make something of yourself and think-- that should be you, that could be you, that must be
I have been in this school since kindergarden. I have been here long enough to see our school win the state title for football and I”ve also seen our school locked down. There is the good and the ugly in every story, and what side you choose to pick will make your life easier or a very long road to glory.
...aiting for. We are the change that we seek. All in all, just like Oliver Brown and the NAACP , do not live life waiting for things to happen, take control of today and be the future of yet to come. If you live life in fear and accept what is handed to you, you can never succeed.
Looking back on my three years at Twin Cities Academy, I find myself wondering how all these years came and went so fast. I still watch myself walking through the same halls and sitting in the same classrooms as I did back in 6th and 7th grade and I’ve seen myself grow so much, mentally, socially and physically. I still remember everything that has happened throughout my years, the best of times, and the worst.
From sixth grade to sophomore year, I attended Pinecrest institute, a catholic private school. Can you predict where this is going? After a few years I grew used to the persona I’d created for myself, I was on top of the social food chain with my friends, in this way, I was in power. Nevertheless, all who rise must fall to learn to lead with compassion in their awareness.
If I could change one aspect of my first semester of high school, I would change that I should have studied more. I would change this because I was always rushing the night before to get all the extra information I could get about the topic.I always felt like I didn't know what I was talking about. What I could do is try studying sections of the test a night. I could also try to start studying for the test a week or a couple days in
When someone thinks back on their high school memories, they might think of the big football jocks or the preppy cheerleaders that probably shouldn’t even be cheering, but for me, I’ll being thinking of the best times of my life. It all started when I was just starting 7th grade. I was visiting my mother for Christmas break. As we watched the short parade slowly make its way down main street , I saw my first marching band. As cliche as it sounds, hearing the energy and feeling the enjoyment radiate from those musicians made me realize what I wanted to do.
Now it is the time for us to become the people we always dreamed of being. Think of of a yellow path way surrounded by trees on both sides with a group of people journeying down it. The path then comes to a stop and separates in to 4 different paths, a blue path, red path, green path, and a purple path. The people each go down different paths and continue on their journeys but they all started on that yellow path.
Let’s flash back in time to before our college days. Back to then we had lunch trays filled with rubbery chicken nuggets, stale pizza, and bags of chocolate milk. A backpack stacked with Lisa Frank note books, flexi rulers, and color changing pencils. The times where we thought we wouldn’t make it out alive, but we did. Through all the trials and tribulations school helped build who I am today and shaped my future. From basic functions all the way to life-long lessons that helped shape my character.
The past four years have been fun and easy for some and a struggle for others. When I reflect on my high school experience, I think of watching football games, playing softball, homecoming weeks, school trips, parties and time with my friends. Others have spent their time in drama, band, community service, part-time jobs and all sorts of other activities. We have all watched Mr. LHS grow along with us until it became a big part of the high school year. I enjoyed laughing with and at the guys as they showed off their talents. This year’s homecoming football game was one of the most exciting ones we have had, with four quarters and three overtimes when we beat Jackson 48 to 42 for a homecoming victory. No matter what types of experiences we have had, I think they are important to remember and grow from.
Our teachers have taught all they can about life's many obstacles and pitfalls, and even taught us a few tricks on how to work them out. Every year we have met new teachers who have made such an impact on our lives that we keep in contact throughout the years. They gave us memories to cherish and keep with us. They have been there for us when we needed them, and they never complained. We knew we could always go to them with our problems and not be judged. We have had our star athletes, our strong academic students, and our extraordinary artists and performers. But I believe the strong, the extraordinary, the stars of Hayes High School were and always will be the teachers. We will never forget them.
My school always gives us a boost in education, and even though you might a strong spot or weak spot in a subject, you always learn something new each day. My teachers make sure i've turned in all my assignments and that i'm comfortable with everything I have been taught. My teachers also make class fun and educational at the same time to make it more fun, and easier to learn. This school has many good people who have become friends with and made a strong bond between them.I Only had one friend when first came to this school who was part of a group that wanted to be in. he gradually made me part of the group until could hang out with them anytime wanted. This school is truly gifted and
School, to me and among many peers of my age, is not a distant term. I have spent one-third of my life time sitting in classrooms, every week since I was seven years old. After spending this much time in school, many things and experiences that happened there have left their mark in my memory. Some are small incidences while some have had a great impact on me. However, regardless the degree of significance, things that happened all contributed to shape the person that I am now.
memorable time for most people, for me as well. High school can be filled with lots of good
But County High is home to me. Bob and Jane are my parents and the students are my brother and sisters. Over the years that I have been at County High my self-esteem has risen. My determination has become stronger and my future has become much brighter. Now I didn't just come to County High a wreck and leave a happy little flower. It's been a process with many stepping stones from caring people in this community. I remember my friend's brother offering to pay for a school sport if I wanted to join. I didn't, but just that offer opened a door. I didn't know I could do that, I thought it was for other kids. Not for people like me.
My school experience has helped define me as a person and has helped guide me through life. I attended a public school in Perry, Iowa. There was a small public school in my town, but it only taught through eighth grade, so everyone attended the same high school. During high school I participated in dance team, football and basketball cheerleading, marching band, color guard, concert band, jazz band, pep band, choir, select choir, drama, Resistance Skills Leaders, National Honor Society, GSA, Skills, Big Buddy, Fellowship of Christian Athletes and speech.
