Facing Unfair Accusation at Bethel University: A Personal Struggle

“You have enemies? Good. That means you’ve stood up for something in your life” said Winston Churchill. I was faced with a situation at Bethel University that has been the biggest problem I have ever faced in my life. I was accused of harassment. Bethel University handles this problem with little to no evidence just a statement from someone, and that wasn’t the only problem. Bethel also took everything away from me without having all the information, and basically only allowing me to go to class which hurt my reputation as a student. I kept asking myself why didn’t Bethel University stand up for me, and why was I treated unfairly by the administration, faculty, and security. Here’s how it all started, I met someone who was a student at Bethel University, and we began talking. I soon figured out that the person I meet was a family member of a professor at Bethel University. We talked for about three weeks, and then we started hanging out at a Bethel versus UTM football game. After that weekend, we started hanging out more on campus, and we started to become friends. Then on the following Wednesday after the game, the person told me that they needed to focus on studies instead of hangout with friends. The next day the person didn’t talk to me all day. After eating dinner, I walked out of Vera Low which is the student activities center here at Bethel University, and there the person set with two other friends. So I texted the person and said “wow,” and asked, “What was going on with us.” The person never replied which made me upset, but I continued on with my day as usual. Later, as I walked to tutoring I passed the individual who had their phone in their hand, the person looked up at me and smile as if they knew
