B.E.E.F. I was at the free throw line. I was thinking to myself B.E.E.F., Balance Eyes Elbow Follow-through. That's what I was thinking When I was at the free throw line, I thought I was going to miss. I was surprised when I first shot the ball I made it. Then when I shot the ball a second time it was flying through the air and I made it again 2 for 2.
I ran back down the court so I could stay on defense. The score was 20 to 11 Middle of the 2nd quarter. I got back on defense and the opposing team scored a 3 the score is now 14 to 20 but we were still winning. As we got the ball I could hear coach saying DUKE!!! DUKE!!! So I went to the right corner Tyse and mike were screening for Dakota and Marcus was in the left corner so once they screened for Dakota Marcus had to come to the left side block and Evan VDL was at the left screen so he went around Tyse and mike so he could go through the middle and Dakota would pass it to Evan and then he would score. That's what play we ran when we were on offense.

so There was only 5 seconds left in the 2nd quarter halftime was almost here Evan rolled the ball to Dakota so the time would not keep going and once Dakota picked up the ball the time would start again.
So Evan rolled the ball to Dakota Dakota picked up the ball sprinted down the court 4, 3, 2, 1, Dakota was running down the court and he chucked up the ball and it did the toilet ring with the ball and it barely missed. So then we went in the locker room so the coach could talk to us.
We ran over one of our inbound plays we ran over the play fist in the locker room and he told us good second half keep up the good work. So we ran out of the locker room and we were ready for the 3rd quarter. Later in the 3rd quarter there were 3 minutes left in the game it was getting close it was 30 to 25 it wasn’t even the 4th
quarter
So the objective of this game was to outscore the opponents by shooting the ball through the opponents basket from above, but you have to stop the opponents from doing the same thing that your doing. A great shot is worth two points or three points if you shoot beyond the three point arc which is 6.75 meters 22 ft 2 in from the basket in international games and 23 feet 9 inches 7.24 m in NBA games. A one-point shot can be earned when shooting from the foul line after a foul is made. When you get foul you have to go to the free throw line and shoot from there,
I won the tip. The game is now under way. I remember getting the ball in the post and backing my defender down, I faked to the right and went up with my left hand! Bam and one the basket counts. The ref blows his whistle because of the foul. Now i 'm at the freethrow line and I sink it. Nice way to start the game right off the bat. As the game went on I was finding out none of my teammates showed up prepared… Basketball is a game of runs. Saint Francis was on a run the whole game, they are known for their three point shooting and they were shooting the lights out. It was a very chippy game I seem to be making most my shots. I look up and the scoreboard says i 'm the leading scorer with seventeen points. Were starting to get on a run. My teammate passes to me, i 'm in the corner for a three and I make it. Then we get a quick steal and we make another
The horn blew and the game started, Dedham won the face off and is running down the field at a faster pace than I was used to. They shot the ball! I couldn’t move my stick quick enough to save it, so I threw my body in front of it and got hit right in the shoulder. It hurt a lot, but what I hadn’t realized was that it hit my shoulder and reflected ten feet away from the net where my player caught it and ran down the field and scored. The other team didn’t know what hit them. It was the half now and the score was three to nothing in our favor. Our couch told us that we needed to keep up the good work.
I have been playing high school basketball as a Lady Hornet since my freshman year, and I firmly believe that I have given tremendous effort into being the most valuable player that I can be. Ever since I was a child, I have had an immense passion for the game of basketball. My mother played collegiate basketball at William Carey University, so all throughout my childhood, she was my main inspiration to play. I will be forever indebted to her for pushing me to play the fantastic sport of basketball because I have no idea who I would be without it. While playing this sport for almost thirteen years, I have learned many valuable lessons along the way that have influenced the way I live out my life.
“I took the ball right out of his hands!” (Alexie 192). In this part of the story Junior was playing a game of basketball for his school. When it started Rowdy (who was on the other team) rushed towards the basket and almost dunked it when Junior, out of nowhere, actually jumped higher than Rowdy and took the ball right out of his
Basketball is a big part of my life, one year ago in tournament final game two of our best players were hurt and the team was relying on me. With the time winding down on the clock we were down 8 points. Somehow I got our deficit down to two points with 30 seconds left, after an intense defensive stop 10 seconds remained on the clock; our coach called a timeout. A play was drawn up for me to take the shot. Mitchell inbounded the ball to me as I came off of a screen, I had an some-what wide open shot, I took the shot, you could hear the crowd go silent as the ball left my hand and headed towards the basketball. It felt like everything was going slow motion, the ball was getting closer and closer to the hoop and I…….missed it. The buzzer sounded
The sound of the buzzer echoes through the gym. I look up at the final score and it reads 78-43. We had just been beaten down on our home court. How could this have happened? We were an undefeated team and our first loss was a big one.
The play was "Red 334"which is a run to our halfback, me, out of our dive series. I crouched over the ball as I jetted past the quarterback and ran the play so we could observe the changes we needed to make. I let out a sigh of relief because we were finished with the most dreaded part of practice; well, only until someone complained about not knowing their job on one of our pass plays. Coach Nelson undoubtedly decided we needed to run through the final pass play before we perfected our defense. The play was quietly called in the huddle with intentions of getting it right. I ran the play through my mind while I tried to remember what the snap count was and what I was supposed to do for that play. The ball was snapped and I jolted to the left of our team's quarterback to set up his backside protection. Out of my peripheral vision, I noticed the defensive end raging toward the quarterback. I intensely stepped into him while lowering my body and exploded through his shoulder pads sending him stumbling into the line's pass protection.
...ft," Coach said as we hurried out of the health room. She was right. There was only half the time left. Warm ups seemed to fly by, and before I knew it there were only 35 seconds left on the clock. Murray's team had already headed for the bench for their coach’s last second instructions. "Let's bring it in girls," yelled Coach Moore from our bench. We all ran over not wanting to miss any important last minute words of wisdom from Coach. "OK, starters check in, you know who you are. As I have said, they are about equal in ability with us. We need to go out there and play our hearts out tonight, girls. Enjoy this, it is your last home game this season," Coach said. With that the Ref. blew his whistle to signal the start of the game. I, with the rest of the starters, walked out onto the court and got ready for the tip off, knowing I was completely prepared for the game.
Ever since I was a little boy, about eight years old or so, I had an extreme passion for the sport of basketball. On weekends, I would wake up in the morning, eat a bowl of frosted flakes or cheerios, put on basketball shorts and then go in my driveway to shoot around. I would be out there for hours just shooting around or playing with some random kids that I would occasionally see walking around my neighborhood. This was satisfaction to me, but even better was playing on multiple public teams and not just playing in my driveway every day. In elementary school, I played in a recreational league, just like almost every other kid who tries out basketball when they were younger. This was fun and all but it was nothing too serious. There were never any practices, it was just one or two unorganized games per week. I never took
As the quarter came to and end I remember having the ball in my hand on our side of the court not knowing what my next move was going to be, as the clock starting running out fast I could hear everyone on the team as well as the coaches, and the people in the audience yelling “SHOOT THE BALL!” In that moment all I remember is turning towards the hoop and just shooting the ball and just like everyone else I couldn’t believe it but I made the shot! It was the only three points we had made the first half of the
My first time playing basketball was at home and i was about 4 or 5 we had an basketball court and my older sisters would always show my what to do the correct way to do it . I didn't always get a turn which made me a little upset at time but eventually I got to play regularly. I've always seen my sister playing basketball .In the beginning I didn't lie basketball ,but now that i'm getting older and learning more about basketball I love it. I started seeing basketball games starting at the age of 3 .I started playing in the middle of 2017 in my backyard just dribbling and pretending the roof was a court .
Down two with six seconds to go fatigue had taken it tolls on the players. With little energy left; over time was not an option. I knew I had to go for the win. I walk on the floor confident of my ability that was until the whistle blew quickly turning my confident to butterflies. As I fought to get open I quickly saw the ball coming my way. As I rose for a jump shot time itself began to stay still. An in flesh everything became silent. As I watch the ball leave my hand I envisioned greatness; sure the ball was on its way in I started to celebrate that was until I hear the announcer say my teammate tip in miss shot to win us the game. Mix with emotion I celebrate with my teammate. “Ok guys, we have 24 hours until tip off. Get some rest because this is going to be the biggest game of your life. Let’s bring this championship back to Barton College. Go Bulldogs and Goodnight!” Why few players stay in the lobby to hang out I took it talk upon to work on my game and reflect on the semifinal game that just took place. At basketball games you will notice how there are all sorts of fans attending the game.
It had been a back and forth game and the other team was pretty good. My team made a basket with about 8 seconds left and the other coach called a timeout.
What is a passion, a passion is something you enjoy so much that you have to do it all the time. So what is my passion? I guess my passion would be playing basketball because I have been doing It all my life and just enjoyed It so much that I do It all the time. Basketball Is a sport where there Is two teams and noe team Is shooting on one end and the other Is shooting on the other end. Both teams are trying to defend the basket that the other team is trying to shoot at.
