The First Game As I woke up in the morning to get ready for school it wasn’t like just any other day, today was going to be a big day for me I was finally going to play in my first ever high school basketball game. As the day continued and I was going to my classes all I could think about was the bell ringing at the end of the day and I could finally be released for the game. When school let out and people were headed to their buses to go home I was rushing to the gymnasium to meet up with the basketball team where we ate our team meal. After we ate the coaches told us to go to the locker room and get changed into our uniforms. This time as I heard the whistle I was actually on the court and it was our ball. As the ball got thrown into me I started to dribble up the court I was still just as nervous as sitting on the bench I had to make sure I could get the ball up the court and start the play. As I stood at the top of the key and yelled “buckeye” I remember feeling more relieved the nerves had went away, I actually did it I made it to the top of the key and started the play with no problems. Unfortunately the ball got turned over so we had to run down and stop them from scoring, I remember after the girl from the other team shot I could hear my mom in the stand yelling “hands up!” following my moms voice was my grandma who can hardly breath yet still yelling as loud as she can. As the quarter came to and end I remember having the ball in my hand on our side of the court not knowing what my next move was going to be, as the clock starting running out fast I could hear everyone on the team as well as the coaches, and the people in the audience yelling “SHOOT THE BALL!” In that moment all I remember is turning towards the hoop and just shooting the ball and just like everyone else I couldn’t believe it but I made the shot!
