Move out of yours conform zone, venture out to explore the world, or just release all the accumulated stress could help you to improve learning faster. In addition, curiosity helps you to stimulate your creativity which innovates and express yourself in new different ways. I am a competitive person and I do not let fear or my insecurities stop me from trying new things. Furthermore, I was a good soccer player in high school. However, everything changed the last year of school when I was curious to join other sport teams. Nonetheless, I was not sure if this decision would

For instance, every summer my parents like to visit other countries and spent some time discovering new traditions. They always invited me but, I said no because I prefer to stay at home watching some movies. Nevertheless, last summer everything changed. My older brother who lives in Canada was going to get married and wanted us to be there. I did not want to go because I did not like to travel by plane. After my older brother insisted me to go to his wedding, I decided to go and have a good time with my family. The next day after the wedding was over, my older sister told me to accompany her to visit the Niagara Falls. I did not want to leave the hotel, however, my older sister told me that if I accompanied her, she would buy me a new iPod touch. A few minutes later, we arrived in Niagara Falls. We saw many tourists who were taking some pictures. Nevertheless, that was not what it caught my attention. What surprised me was the sound of the water. At that moment I felt like all the stress that I had disappeared. Also, at that time, I was aroused by my curiosity to learn more about the history of Niagara Falls. Since that day, I learned a new point of view. For example, it gave me a new purpose in my life as if I had found the answer I was looking for. I was not sure about what career should I study. After that day I knew that I had to study the career of Civil Engineer because I also really like the infrastructure that the engineers made so that the tourists could be closer to the water without any danger of falling into the
Through this same lens, I chose to take classes that helped diversify what I learned so I always stayed interested and never found class tedious, just as Curious George would in his adventures. Outside of school, I keep myself in check by traveling and trying new things because on top of my natural curiosity, I am a true explorer. Like George, I love the enjoyment of participating in what life has to offer, even though it may cause mischief along the way. After all, satisfying curiosity is one of the greatest sources of happiness in
Curiosity helps to learn more things. If you learn things by being curious you are more likely, than others, to be smarter because it shows you want to learn. It doesn't just show that
We know what we are learning and can find what we like from self-education. If we do not have any interests to do something, then we cannot do our best and keep going. Instead, interests can help us to keep searching and learning new information. Malcolm X said, “As I see it today, the ability to read awoke inside me some long dormant craving to be mentally alive” (3). This tells us he realizes his interest by reading books every day and enjoys learning from books. Books become a huge part of his life and make him successful. If someone forces us to add new knowledge and do not care whether we like or not, we will never absorb those knowledge. Additionally, Malcolm X wrote “I could spend the rest of my life reading, just satisfying my curiosity—because you can hardly mention anything I’m not curious about” (4). This is important because self-education helps him to figure out what he is curious about. For this, he has motivation to get new knowledge and determination to satisfy himself. In general, self-education can increase our interests on something new and satisfy our demands simultaneously because we can choose what to learn and how to
One day my father and grandpa went fishing but I wanted to go with them, but I had no experience, they would not teach me, and they were going to leave in 3 hours. Before trying to convince my father and grandfather again I talked to my mother and for some reason she knew how to fish so she taught me some basic skills. After the small training session there was about 5 minutes left and my father and grandfather were checking for any hideaways in the car. As they were doing a final check I sneaked in with a fishing rod and a cap and lay inside the car speechless. At the fishing spot, my father and grandfather unloaded their supplies and I fell onto the dirt floor, when they discovered I stowed away they were mad but I told my father and grandpa that I wanted to go fishing with them and they accepted my
I discovered new areas and specialties that I didn’t know I could enjoy and possibly make an important contribution like the legislative and research fields.
Some people like to stay in control of their life and avoid any amount of extraordinary risk to protect their self-disclosure. Other people don’t shy away from challenges as they are confident that certain obstacles are nothing more than just another thing standing in their way from living life to the fullest extent. Through personal experience, I’ve realized that personal comfort is nothing more than a variety of fears that limit me from challenging myself.
There is so much to study and to learn about, one just has to pick something, be curious about something, be an expert on something. Currently, all humans are unique, and therefore each person’s experience through life is different. To embrace this, and be curious, and be interested is to be engaged in life. It is to be an active human. This is what Socrates aimed to teach his followers: to be humble enough to admit ignorance is not a character flaw; however, to make no effort to reduce one’s ignorance is
A calm crisp breeze circled my body as I sat emerged in my thoughts, hopes, and memories. The rough bark on which I sat reminded me of the rough road many people have traveled, only to end with something no one in human form can contemplate.
It was Tuesday and the day was draining away. I wanted to go buy new hair dye, but I knew it was too late. Careless, I got money from my piggy bank and asked my little sister Natalie to come along. I usually go out by myself but I decided to take her to feel more safe. Since my parents were not home yet I had to make this trip quick, so we took the bus.
Eventually, the current became a little stronger and the ride a little swifter. My feelings of disappointment slowly vanished and feelings of excitement and exhilaration took their place. As the terrain surrounding us became more rocky and rough, so did the river. It was no longer calm and clear like a mountain lake, but more whi...
It has taught me not to follow the crowd, to find my niche and stick with it. Finding something unique will not only increase my odds of finding a job but could also increase my earnings. Therefore, when looking for my vocation, I will try to keep an open mind and be creative.
I am by myself wearing my blue jeans and an old flannel shirt. It is cool outside but I decided to leave my gloves at home, feeling comfortable with my warm shirt and my sturdy boots.
It gives me a sense of pride to reflect back and write about my adventure, where working hard and staying focused has made me the person I am today. Until now I have seized every opportunity I could to increase my knowledge, think critically about my field, to be a better student, a responsible professional and a humble citizen. I entered dentistry when I was not really sure what I wanted to do in life. All that I was sure about was to be best in what I chose to do. Entering the dental school not only made my family proud of seeing their daughter be the first member in the extended family to be a healthcare professional but also put a big responsibility on my shoulder, which at first seemed daunting. When the sound of congratulations faded,
The journey of life follows a predetermined pattern; we evolve from needing influence and guidance to finally reaching that point where our lives are up to us. I consider myself very lucky up to this point in my journey. Some people become sidetracked and wind up on a far different course than initially planned, but the detours I made have only assisted in embellishing the individual instead of devouring it.
Which was one of the biggest obstacles of my life. I found that I worked very well with others, and it made me more confident about myself. It made me feel great. I had great ideas, and I even encouraged other people to come out of their shell. I learned that life's short, and you just need to accept yourself for who you are, and live life to the fullest, as best as you can. This to me was a huge significance, because it changed my ways on how i approach certain things now. I'm not afraid of
