It is the summer before senior year. Casually chilling by the lake, eating ice cream, but then it hit me like a ton of bricks, college is a year from now. It was a crazy fact to think about. Applying to schools and scholarships was going to become a priority. Here is the real question: where to start? First, discover what size of college would feel most comfortable in. Next, choose a variety of colleges to apply for and visit them. Then, decide what college gives a warm, welcoming feeling and knowing it is the place to fit in.

Wanting to go Washington State University was a childhood dream. Whitworth University took over at the start of high school. Whitworth seemed the perfect size. As the search for other options started, a couple more places came into mind in Washington, such as Northwest University and Whitman University. Then something came across, which never would have thought of considering, Oregon state. There were 4 colleges around the same size as Whitworth, included Lewis & Clark College, Pacific University, Linfield University, and George Fox University. Lewis & Clark was brought up through a friend who went there and George Fox because it was recommended through one of the cross-country coaches in Chelan High School. …show more content…

It was a weird experience to see a college campus for the first time because this was going to be life in a year from now. The next visit was to Northwest, which was okay. Then taking a glimpse at Pacific, which was loving. Then seeing George Fox another time, followed by Whitworth at a later time. Never had the chance to see Whitman, because it was too expensive and Linfield never came into play when it came to visiting.
