Personal Narrative Essay: Taking A Trip To Canada

One of the great ways to learn about the world around us is to take a trip.
I recently took a road trip with my aunt from Roanoke, Virginia to Toronto, Canada. It was an amazing experience to visit where my family originated. We started our trip and made our way to Canada overnight. Unfortunately, since it was at night we were unable to see anything. We did however, get to have time to talk and get to know each other a little better.
After a long drive, we finally made it to our destination, Canada. After resting a few hours at my aunt’s house in Milton, we were ready to become tourists for a few days. Our first stop was Niagara Falls just north of the Canada border.

Niagara Falls is the largest waterfall by volume in North America. It is one of the largest tourist attractions in North America. Even though it was extremely busy, it was totally worth the trip. While there we were able to walk around and see some of the area. Along with the falls, they have great places for those wanting to shop, as well as, places that have some great tasting food. On our way home from Niagara, we stopped off at my favorite restaurant, Swiss Chalet. This franchise is based only in Canada which makes it a must stop place to eat for my family. We went to the C&E, which is a carnival held yearly just outside of downtown Toronto. While there we had the opportunity to see a Canadian airshow. It wasn’t as amazing as some airshows I have seen in the past, however, it was still a good show. I was excited to see one of my favorite aircraft, the F-22 Raptor. They also had a P-51 Mustang, a Canadian military helicopter, and the Canadian air demonstration team. After the show, we were able to take in some of the sights and try some carnival foods.
